| 25.06.2026 - Is Your Equipment Holding You Back? | 25 juin 2026 | 00:27:24 | |
In this episode, I discuss the oft-held and common belief that 'I could make better photographs, if only I had better gear'. This is a topic that has been much requested over the last year, but with a slight twist. Hint, it isn't the equipment that is holding you back from getting better photographs... In this episode, I review the book 'Laponia Majestic Stillness' by Erlend and Orsolya Haarberg. This is a book I have a love/hate relationship with. | 10.05.2026 - How White Should Your Snow Be? | 10 mai 2026 | 00:25:01
In this episode, I discuss how white your snow should be on a print. There’s a lot of high-key photography in which the majority of the image is pure white. Snow, without texture and tone in a print, will appear pure white and can often look unreal. Meanwhile, the actual scene may have been overcast, rendering the snow greyer or bluer. Wildlife paintings often render snow as grey or blue. How should you approach this? Wild Nature Photo Travel

| 28.04.2026 - Culling and Editing Thousands of RAW Captures | 28 avr. 2026 | 00:19:19 | |
In this episode, I discuss my current approach to culling and editing thousands of RAW photographs, whether from a long day in the field or upon returning to the studio at the end of a trip. I cover the software I use, why I use it, how I choose my selects, what gets kept and what gets deleted. Culling and editing can be an extremely time-consuming part of the photographic process, but it is an absolutely critical stage in distilling the work to a manageable level while keeping only the very best. | 27.03.2026 - Are You Collecting Cameras or Photographs? | 27 mars 2026 | 00:27:11
In this episode, I discuss whether we should be collectors of camera equipment or collectors of photographs. Should you be worried about exposing your expensive equipment to the elements as a Nature Photographer? Or should you be more worried about getting the shot? Wild Nature Photo Travel
| 26.03.2026 - The People's Choice Award is Social Media Nonsense | 26 mars 2026 | 00:16:38 | |
In this episode, I offer a strong opinion about why the 'People's Choice Award' is a bad idea in photographic competitions. Such categories are never won by the 'best' photograph in class but are invariably taken out by whoever can scream the loudest on social media, 'Vote for Me!' This approach is the exact antithesis of why anyone should be entering a photographic competition, and such categories do little to foster the promotion of quality photography. Entering photography competitions should (if we enter for the right reasons) be about improving our work, growing as photographers through the feedback of our professional peers and competing against ourselves, and not worrying about social media popularity. This podcast is therefore a preview for the upcoming, more extensive article where I deep dive into my choice of the best boots for cold-weather photography. Wild Nature Photo Travel
| 20.03.2026 - What I Want Next From Canon | 20 mars 2026 | 00:30:59 | |

I also discuss what I want to see next from Canon and why dynamic range is just not that important as a camera metric. Why Dynamic Range is not that Important Wild Nature Photo Travel

In this episode, I review Travel and Documentary photographer Richard L'Anson's new magnum opus - 'Way Down South'. A massive tome of a book containing the sum of Richard's work from Antarctica, the Falkland Islands, South Shetlands and South Georgia. This was an interesting and thoroughly enjoyable book for me to review, as it's a subject and region near and dear to my heart and my passion for the world's Polar regions.

| 11.12.2025 - Looking Forward into the 2026 Year | 11 déc. 2025 | 00:24:14 | |
In this episode, I spend some time looking into what is coming up in 2026. Historically, I have done a very long blog post or podcast that is both a retrospective on the current year (the year that was) and a look forward into the new year. This year, I have decided to break it up into two more bite-sized chunks and have two separate podcasts. This episode looks ahead to 2026, with some thoughts on travel, equipment, and photography in general. In other news, I was also appointed an Adobe Community Expert for both Lightroom and Photoshop this week. Which means I will now be on the Adobe community forums to answer Lightroom questions whenever I can. Feel free to PM me there if you have anything specific you want to ask.
