Thanks to the lovely folk at BBC Books we were lucky to get our hands on a MASSIVE haul of brand new Doctor Who Target books AND the debut novel by Bonnie Langford: Death in the Stars.

Geoff was busy on Horsham Film Festival duties but Paul decided to take Bonnie's book away with him on holiday so he could read it on the beach. Which he did!

As anyone who's listened to us before will know, Paul is very particular with his books, and arguably way too obsessed with 'science' for a show which features a magic police box and aliens who can regularly change their form when they get killed. 

However, he is a massive fan of Target novels - often dropping into misty-eyed nostalgia as soon as anyone mentions "The Auton Invasion" or "Doctor Who and the Loch Ness Monster". 

So what did he think of this brand new original novel written by Bonnie who played the novel's main character, ex Doctor Who companion of the 1980s (recently returned to New-Who) Ms Melanie Bush?

• Has Paul fully exorcised his demons since first watching Terror of the Vervoids?

Hurrah for Sixie!

Kicking off our series which will celebrate Colin Bakers' Sixth Doctor, his adventures, his companions and his audios - we're going back to the start and taking a look at The Twin Dilemma!

Infamously voted as the WORST Doctor Who story of all time on multiple occasions BUT...is it really as bad as those polls would tell you?

Is there more to enjoy in this serial than the preconceptions would have you believe?

Was the infamous moment between The Doctor and Peri a bad move - both within and outside of the show?

Should we have even approached this serial for review at all?!

Meet The Whovians returns! 

This is our fan-focused series where we talk to other Whovians and find out all about them and their love of Doctor Who! And in doing so, maybe give you a few new people to follow and interact with in the community.

This time, we're joined by 3 guests from across the Twitterverse...Xverse...whatever it's called today!

In this episode of WHO CORNER TO CORNER, we're joined by not one, but two Doctor Who writing luminaries - Peter Anghelides and Simon Guerrier!

The duo join us to talk about their new book The Daily Doctor, an inspirational page-a-day guide to life gleaned from those moments of Doctor Who in which we learned to appreciate the small things as much as the big things, and know exactly when to run.

We also discuss Big Finish, Blake's 7, the Eighth Doctor novels, working with Tom Baker, the importance of spreadsheets and (unafraid to waste the opportunity of a good plug) Simon gives us not only an exclusive look at the forthcoming  60th anniversary coffee table book Whotopia but also some some insight into his soon-to-be-released David Whitaker biopic which investigates the life and work of Doctor Who's very first story editor!

All this and Geoff makes a hash of the authors' surnames (to his eternal shame), literally just seconds after asking them both how they should be pronounced!

The spaceship screamed over the London skyline, trailing a wake of oily black smoke through the cloudless sky.  With a terrific 'BONG!' its wing smashed through the clock face of Big Ben, destroying one of the capital's centuries-old icons. The ship banked hard following the collision and with a final roar of its guttering engine, it bellied down spectacularly into the Thames!

This iconic shot from the 2005 Doctor Who revival is the work of visual effects master Mike Tucker - one of the few people to have worked on Classic and New Doctor Who!

Mike began his career working on the Sixth and Seventh Doctor eras before moving on to create Red Dwarfs and Star Bugs for the Red Dwarf show, amongst many others. 

Returning to Doctor Who with it's revival, he was responsible for many of the model shots we all know and love including the BAFTA award winning work with Daleks on Day of the Doctor.

Let's get FLUXED! We're back in the library (right next to the bar) of a beachside B&B in blistering hot Dorset for Part 2 of our EPIC chat with former Doctor Who showrunner and creator of the 13th Doctor, CHRIS CHIBNALL!

Juiced up on tea, coffee, Coke Zero and water (for Paul because he's sensible) we dive right into the challenges of creating Doctor Who during a pandemic, and for the first time in a public interview Chris talks in great depth about the creation and production of Series 13: Flux.

Just how close did we come to having no Doctor Who at all during Covid?
The behind the scenes story of Flux is an adventure almost as incredible as what we saw on screen.

But that's not all!

On a scorching day at the tail-end of Summer 2023 your intrepid WhoC2C hosts Geoff and Paul climbed into their cars and headed off to the beautiful county of Dorset, to a seaside B&B a mere stone's throw from the locations used in the popular TV crime drama Broadchurch which, as anyone knows, features a cast list as impressive as any Doctor Who spinoff...

However, we weren't interested in the stunning scenery of England's Jurassic Coast! Oh no! We had other things on our minds...

For not only was this session to be the first we'd ever recorded in the same room as each other, but something which we had long been planning and working behind the scenes to make happen was finally about to come together...

We'd booked the B&B's library for the whole afternoon and no sooner had we transformed this tranquil repose into a technology haven littered with strategically-placed mics and recording equipment, than a polite knock at the door announced the arrival of none other than real-life Doctor Who showrunner, CHRIS CHIBNALL!

Anyone who listens to us regularly will know of our mutual love for Jodie's wonderful Doctor and her stories, and now here we were, in the same room as the guy who made it all happen.
