What Happened When – Details, episodes & analysis

On this episode of What Happened When, Tony and Conrad a look at an angle that defined Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling in the 1970's and was one of the biggest, if not the biggest part of Tony's fandom growing up in Virginia. Blackjack Mulligan vs Ric Flair featured two of the biggest heels in Jim Crockett Promotions finally splitting into a blood feud.

The suggestion comes from DJ Turn Up of Stone Mountain, Georgia, who wrote:

"...I love to hear how giddy Tony gets when he talks about his fandom and he talks about how this is one of his favorite rivalries. I would like to know more info on it..."

Plus, We dive into Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling maybe for the last time in a while.

The "Network" is officially gone, and the "Cock" has taken over, so we are not sure when we will be able to continue our look back at this great JCP syndicated show.

But on this week's edition a change is in the air. Even though the open and the logo say "Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling", Bob Caudle intros the show as "NWA Pro Wrestling."

Plus we are going to see the breakup between Jimmy Valiant and Pez Whatley; see Wahoo McDaniel in action (as well as a pretty entertaining confrontation between the Chief and Precious); hear from Ric Flair and Arn Anderson.

It's time to fire up the WWE Network, press mute, and relive the... well... the not so good days of WCW in 1994. When you think of WCW don't you always think of Brutus Beefcake, the Honky Tonk Man, Hacksaw, and Earthquake? Me either. Well they're here now but guess who's not? Ric Flair.
