091: How to Plan Your Perfect Day at Magic Kingdom for 2025 - 202621 May 202500:54:44

Send us a text

Planning a day at Magic Kingdom doesn’t have to feel like a marathon—or a meltdown waiting to happen. In this episode, I’m sharing a full walkthrough of how to plan a realistic Disney day for every kind of traveler: families with little kids, multigenerational groups, couples looking for fun and food, and everything in between.

We’ll break down each of Magic Kingdom’s six lands (yes, all six!), and I’ll give you my best tips for deciding what to prioritize—whether that’s thrill rides, character meet-and-greets, or hidden gems that give your feet a break and your kids a magical moment.

You’ll also learn:

  • How to schedule quick service meals with mobile ordering like a pro
  • When to book table service dining (and what’s actually worth it)
  • The smartest ways to budget your time so you’re not zig-zagging all over the park
  • How to build a plan that works for your group without burning out before fireworks
  • Why “less is more” is sometimes the key to a magical Disney day

If you're someone who wants to ride the rides, eat the snacks, meet the characters, and keep everyone in your group happy (without needing a nap by 2 p.m.), this one’s for you.

Dreaming of a Longer Stay

If I had my way, my dream Christmas vacation at Disney would be about nine days long. In this episode, we’re setting sail on the Disney Wish—one of the most magical and unforgettable vacations we’ve ever experienced. From the grand atrium to the immersive theming throughout, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a whole new world of Disney magic at sea.

We’ll dive into one of our favorite aspects of the cruise: the rotating dining experience. Each night, we were treated to a new restaurant, each with its own unique theme and Disney storytelling. Whether it was the enchanted worlds of Arendelle, the magic of Marvel, or the sophisticated dining at 1923, every meal was a new adventure in itself, perfectly paired with Disney’s exceptional service. And, of course, we’ll chat about the legendary white glove service that made us feel like VIPs from the moment we boarded. From the waitstaff remembering our preferences to the incredible attention to detail, it’s what makes Disney cruising a step above the rest.

For families, the kids' clubs were an absolute highlight. Our kids had the time of their lives exploring their own magical spaces, from the Oceaneer Club to the interactive Marvel and Star Wars-themed zones. They were fully immersed in the magic while we had the chance to enjoy some downtime, knowing they were in the best possible hands.

We’ll also share a bit about our favorite onboard activities, from the breathtaking shows to the endless entertainment for all ages. And let’s not forget Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, where we soaked up some sun and continued the magic onshore.

088: Planning Summer at Walt Disney World10 Apr 202500:26:27

Send us a text

We’re heading to Walt Disney World this summer for 10 full days of magic — and what started as just our family’s adventure has now turned into a full-on family reunion! Midway through the trip, we’ll be joined by my husband’s side of the family, adding NINE more people to the fun. We’re talking all four parks, both water parks, an unforgettable night at H2O Glow, and some good eats at The Boathouse at Disney Springs.

In this episode, I’m sharing how we’re planning for both halves of the trip, what it’s like coordinating a large group (for only part of the time), and how we’re making the most of summer at Disney — including poncho and Crocs weather, navigating those midday thunderstorms, and finding the sweet spot between rope drop and park close without melting in the Florida heat.

Plus, I’ll walk you through why this might be one of the quietest summers we’ve seen in a while (hello, Epic Universe 👋🏾), and how to take advantage of summer discounts and flexible planning during this season.

If you’re planning a summer Disney trip, this one’s packed with real talk, pro tips, and everything you need to know to survive — and THRIVE — at Walt Disney World in the summer heat.

☀️ Grab your fan, your refillable water bottle, and let’s go!

Walt Disney World Trip Recap with Guest Creator: Kris from Happily Ever Park Hoppers 06 Jun 202401:29:39

Send us a text

Kris is back on the podcast as we recap our Walt Disney World vacation together! We had the ultimate girls' trip, starting with a brunch and meeting up with friends at Summerhouse on the Lake, located at Disney Springs. We also visited a candle shop, picked up some scents, and enjoyed the best activities around Mother's Day at Disney Springs. Then we had dinner at 1900 Park Fare, the newest character meal to return to Walt Disney World Resort, located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. We topped it off with a visit to the Enchanted Rose, which is the second-floor lounge also located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

We spent the next day at all four parks doing a Four Park challenge, which consisted of riding a roller coaster, meeting a character, and having a snack. We walked well over 13 miles this day but were able to do a lot at all of the parks. We're even giving you all the tips and tricks on how to do your own Four Park challenge, especially if you have only one day at the park and want to maximize it.

We ended our trip with breakfast at 'Ohana, which is the best friends' breakfast with Lilo and Stitch. Then we had a magical afternoon at Disney's Animal Kingdom, where we met some special characters during the Earth Week celebration.

2024 Character Dining Overview and Rankings09 May 202400:33:53

Send us a text

Let's dive into the topic of character dining, which can add an extra layer of excitement to your Disney trip. Character dining is an experience where you can enjoy a meal with your favorite Disney characters. You can find character dining options in the Disney parks and the resorts. Some of the popular character dining options in the parks include Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey's, and Crystal Palace.

Many people stress over getting all the reservations to character dining meals, but it's important to consider why you should or should not do character dining. One reason to do character dining is to save you time in the parks. Instead of waiting in a long line to meet a character, you can enjoy your meal and interact with the characters as they visit your table. It's also a great way to get pictures with the characters without worrying about the crowds.

It's essential to consider the cost of character dining. Prices can vary depending on the restaurant and the time of day. For example, dinner is typically more expensive than breakfast or lunch. Some restaurants, like Cinderella's Royal Table, require pre-payment. To avoid any surprises, it's important to review the menus and prices before making your reservations.

When considering character dining, you should also consider how long it takes to enjoy a character meal. Character dining experiences generally last around an hour and a half, so it's important to plan accordingly. You can consider whether it's better to do it on a rest day or use it as a break while at the parks.

With so many character dining options, choosing the most suitable one for your family is important. Some restaurants have specific themes, like the Princesses at Cinderella's Royal Table, while others have a broader range of characters, like Chef Mickey's. You should review the restaurant's menus and characters to ensure that it's a good fit for your family.

Finally, it's worth noting that there's no need to overload your trip with dining. While character dining can be a fun and memorable experience, plenty of quick-service dining options are available throughout the parks and resorts. You can always mix and match your dining experiences to create a balance that works for your family and your budget.

Genie+ for a Large Groups and Multigenerational Families18 Apr 202400:27:44

Send us a text

Booking Genie+ for a large family group can be daunting and requires careful planning and attention to detail. However, the strategy for booking is actually quite similar to booking for a smaller group. The main differences lie in the planning and the work of the planner.

In a podcast that discusses this topic, you can learn how to book with a large group and the difference between planning for a group of friends versus a multigenerational trip with family. Planning for a large family group involves:

  • Coordinating the schedules of multiple people.
  • Accommodating diverse interests and preferences.
  • Ensuring that everyone can enjoy the activities and attractions they are most interested in.

In addition, there is a significant difference between having kids and young children. You must consider their needs, such as stroller accessibility, child-friendly rides, and safe and enjoyable activities for children of all ages.

Overall, the key to successfully booking Genie+ for a large family group is planning, communicating effectively, and being flexible. With careful planning and attention to detail, you can ensure your family has a memorable and enjoyable experience at the theme park. But also YOU as the planner has an amazing time!

Animal Kingdom Genie+ Strategy for 202416 Apr 202400:30:05

Send us a text

In this podcast, I will be sharing various strategies that can help you make the most of your visit to Animal Kingdom. Although it's a relaxed park, many visitors tend to skip Genie+ on this day, believing it to be unnecessary. However, I suggest that you consider using Genie+ at Animal Kingdom as it can make your day more enjoyable by allowing you to bypass the long lines. Moreover, it frees you up to experience all of Animal Kingdom's entertainment without having to worry about lengthy queues.

Animal Kingdom has the highest average wait times due to Flight of Passage and Na'vi River, which can result in waits ranging from 45 minutes to 3 hours, consuming most of your day. However, you can prepare for those wait times by planning your day accordingly. Unfortunately, there are very few strategies to avoid the Flight of Passage wait time. Na'vi River is not worth an 80-minute wait time. It's essential to plan your day and prioritize which attractions you want to experience the most.

In conclusion, I hope this podcast provides enough information to help you maximize your day at Animal Kingdom by using Genie+. With proper planning, you will be able to make the most of your visit and experience all of Animal Kingdom's attractions without having to spend too much time in line.

Today, I am thrilled to begin a journey with the Disney Dreamers Academy - a life-changing initiative that inspires young minds to dream big and empowers them to achieve their goals. This program provides an incredible opportunity for young people to unlock their potential and create a bright future for themselves.

Over the weekend, I had the privilege of attending the Disney Dreamers Academy parade and various workshops as a media guest. The parade was an incredible experience, filled with excitement and energy. During the workshops, I witnessed the transformative power of this program as the dreamers learned from some of the most accomplished and inspiring individuals in their fields. I was particularly moved by the sessions on entrepreneurship, leadership, and creativity, which encouraged the young dreamers to think outside the box and pursue their passions.

Overall, the Disney Dreamers Academy is an incredible program that truly ignites the spark of possibility in young minds. I am honored to have been a part of this amazing weekend and look forward to seeing the incredible things these young dreamers will accomplish in the future.

In this podcast, I will share some comprehensive tips on navigating Epcot with the help of Genie+. Epcot is undoubtedly one of the most loved parks by families, due to its plethora of high-demand rides as well as many low-wait-time rides, which help balance out the park experience.

If you are planning to stay at a Crescent Lake resort and enter the park from the main entrance at the International Gateway, my goal is to help you decide on the best strategy. For guests staying at a Disney Resort Collection hotel, I will provide you with a couple of different scenarios for using the main entrance at EPCOT to maximize your day based on your family's priorities.

Moreover, I will also provide some valuable strategies for offsite guests to help you make the most of your day. Genie+ Hollywood Studios in 202420 Mar 202400:27:43

Send us a text

In this podcast, I will be sharing a comprehensive guide on navigating Hollywood Studios with the help of Genie+. Hollywood Studios has the least amount of rides of any Disney park, but it is packed with many exciting attractions, including several high-demand rides with height requirements. This can be a challenge for families with toddlers or young ones who don't meet those requirements. Therefore, intentionally planning your day is essential to make the most of your time at the park.

One of the first things to remember is that even if a child meets the height requirement, they might need more time to be ready to experience some of the more intense rides, such as the Tower of Terror. Therefore, assessing if the ride is suitable for your child's age and temperament is crucial before using Genie+ to book your spot.

Another thing to consider is that Hollywood Studios offers many shows and dining experiences that are worth experiencing. So, it's wise to have a balanced day and not just focus on the rides. Sometimes, the little things are what make Disney magical, and you want to take advantage of those moments.

To maximize your day at Hollywood Studios, I recommend using Genie+ to book your ride times for high-demand attractions, such as the popular Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. You can also use Genie+ to book ride times for the Toy Story Mania and Alien Swirling Saucers, which are family-friendly rides that everyone can enjoy.

In conclusion, Hollywood Studios is a fun and exciting park to visit, but careful planning is required to make the most of your time there. By following the strategies I've mentioned, you can ensure that you have a memorable and enjoyable experience at the park.

I am interrupting this program to share a podcast about planning for Disney trips. While we are continuing with our genie plus planning series, I wanted to add a bonus episode this week to talk about some of the biggest trips I have planned this year.

I'll discuss planning for Disneyland and California Adventure in today's podcast. Specifically, I'll talk about how we plan to extend our trip to Southern California to ensure we have the most magical vacation ever. This includes things like planning our parks table service and selecting our Disney outfits. We want to make sure that we make the most of our visit to the park, especially since the intellectual property available at the Disney parks in California vastly differs from what is available at Walt Disney World Resort.

Next, I'll share details about our upcoming Christmas trip to Walt Disney World. This is a very special, magical trip, as we will be going with my mother-in-law, aunt, and niece. My niece and aunt have never been to Walt Disney World before, so I am excited to share their first-time experience with you to the most magical place on earth, and I cannot wait to share every step of the way with you.

Lastly, I'll talk about my 40th birthday celebration at the most magical place on earth. It's an exciting milestone, and I am thrilled to spend it with a group of girlfriends I've had since Beth for a lifetime. I'll share some of the details going into planning this vacation, and I can't wait to share the experience with you.

Thank you for joining me today, and I hope you enjoy the podcast.

How to plan a Disney vacation! Disneyland Here we come!07 Feb 202400:24:37

Send us a text

I am excited to share that we have finally overcome our 'Disney Blues' after eight long years and are now eagerly planning our trip to Disneyland. However, our reservation at the Grand Californian for September 2020 had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, we are determined to build our dream vacation and make the most of our trip.

We cannot wait to experience the magic of Disneyland, from the classic rides like Pirates of the Caribbean to the newer attractions like Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Our plan is to explore every corner of the park and compare it to our home park at Walt Disney World.

We are also looking forward to trying out all the amazing places to eat, meeting the beloved characters, and enjoying the shows and parades. Disneyland offers so much, and we are confident that this will be a memorable experience for us. I am excited to share my inner thoughts as I take the first steps in planning my family's magical vacation.

January 2024 Trip Recap and VIP Tour at Walt Disney World31 Jan 202400:30:25

Send us a text

Our recent family vacation to Walt Disney World with my best friend's family was absolutely fantastic! We spent our time exploring three parks throughout our trip using the convenient Park Hopper ticket, which allowed us to move freely between parks at our leisure. We also indulged in a VIP tour, which was an incredible experience and gave us an exclusive look behind the scenes of the park.

In addition to visiting the parks, we also spent two fun-filled days at the water parks and played mini-golf, which was a delightful experience. However, the most memorable part of our trip was undoubtedly the makeovers we arranged for our girls at Bounding Beauty and the boys at Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boutique . The makeovers were a unique and magical experience that we will cherish forever.

As we reflect on our trip, we realize there were some activities that we would repeat and others that we would do differently on our next visit. One activity we recommend is watching the new fireworks show at Epcot called Luminous. It was mind-blowing and left us all in awe. Overall, this was an unforgettable trip that we will never forget.
