Sam feels trapped between a domineering mother and a wife who mocks his work and resents the life they share. When their latest fight turns violent, a broken window announces the arrival of a silent, terrifying visitor. The figure blocks the door, watches the couple, and seems capable of crushing their throats—yet the superintendent’s daughter and the responding police officer cannot see anyone in the room.

As the night stretches toward dawn, Sam and Dora realize that the stranger’s face contains pieces of them both: Sam’s rage, Dora’s bitterness, and the worst impulses they have directed at each other. Escaping the apparition may require the couple to confront the grief, disappointment, and unspoken choices that gave it shape.

Arch Oboler’s “Visitor from Hades” turns a cramped apartment and a destructive marriage into supernatural psychological horror. The threat is both a home-invasion monster and hatred made flesh, visible only to the two people who created it.

Twenty-Two Minutes: A Ghostly Lumberjack & a Countdown to Survival

Laura has twenty-two minutes to survive a ghostly lumberjack with an axe inside an isolated Pacific Northwest ranger station.

Her fiancé Allen is already dead, his proposal hike ended by a century-old apparition near the remains of an abandoned logging camp. Bear spray passed harmlessly through the attacker. Now Laura is injured, hiding in a supply trailer, and clinging to a 911 dispatcher’s estimate that an officer can reach her before the lumberjack does.

Every blow against a tree sounds closer. The flimsy walls provide little protection, the one interior door cannot hold forever, and Laura’s improvised weapons have a fundamental problem: ordinary objects do not stop a ghost. While the dispatcher keeps her talking, the remaining minutes force her to reconstruct the hike, search the station, and make decisions before blood loss and the descending axe end the call.

Catching a Buzz: Flesh-Eating Botflies, Viral Dares & Kohler’s Lord of the Flies

A viral candy-snorting dare opens babysitter Clarrisa Hart’s wounded nose to flesh-eating larvae as a supernatural fly outbreak consumes Kohler.

Nine-year-old Grover Wright and his brother Will only want more post-Halloween candy. Their bored babysitter offers pizza if they perform a dangerous social-media challenge, but the stunt leaves Clarrisa bleeding just as strange, oil-slick flies begin appearing around town. What first looks like an unusually warm November infestation becomes a case of human myiasis when maggots hatch inside her face.

The swarm spreads from the Wright house to a gas station, a filthy garage apartment, local livestock, and homes near Kohler’s new dump. Officials blame a hybrid botfly, yet witnesses keep seeing a blurred man dressed in black wherever the insects gather. Hubie Gilbert knows another name from his worn Bible: Beelzebub, Lord of the Flies. As the temperature drops, the creatures search for warm bodies, open wounds, and every dead thing the town has tried to ignore.

David O’Hanlon’s “Catching a Buzz” combines insect horror, parasitic botflies, body horror, internet-dare consequences, and supernatural plague imagery. Terrifying & True | Junko Furuta — The Kidnapping, Murder, and Sentences That Outraged Japan

Seventeen-year-old Junko Furuta was kidnapped in November 1988 and held for forty days before four teenage captors murdered her in Tokyo.

Terrifying & True presents this case without turning Junko’s suffering into spectacle. Hiroshi Miyano, Nobuharu Minato, Jō Ogura, and Yasushi Watanabe abducted her as she traveled home from work, threatened her family, and confined her in the Minato residence. Forced phone calls misled her parents after they reported her missing. She died on January 4, 1989, and her body was concealed in a drum filled with concrete.

The crime was uncovered after arrests in another case prompted Miyano to disclose where the drum had been left. Because the perpetrators were juveniles, their identities were initially protected and their convictions brought prison terms many people considered shockingly lenient. Later offenses by some of the men intensified public anger.

This episode centers Junko as a student with plans for graduation and a new job, then examines the investigation, juvenile-justice controversy, failures of adults around the crime, and the exploitation that followed in books and films.

A sapphire ring vanishes during a New York supper party, and the guests agree to count to one hundred in total darkness so the thief can return it.

At the Artists and Writers Club, a group debates whether clever crimes can ever be solved without luck or confession. Their conversation turns to a seemingly simple social mystery: during an intimate gathering, a hostess removes three rings and secures them on a hatpin in her bedroom. Minutes later, the sapphire is gone, even though only a small circle of friends had access to the room.

Rather than summon the police and publicly accuse someone, the hostess locks the exits and proposes an experiment. The lights will be extinguished, everyone will remain still, and she will slowly count to one hundred. The guilty person can place the ring on the table without being seen. Darkness offers privacy, but it also gives every guest time to listen, judge, and wonder who might move.

Adapted from Owen Johnson’s “One Hundred in the Dark,” this vintage Suspense drama builds tension from social pressure rather than violence. A stolen sapphire, a closed clubroom, wounded pride, and one hundred spoken numbers turn friendship into a psychological detective puzzle about what people reveal when nobody can see them.
