Faith in the Face of Adversity: Blake Treinen's Journey to the Dodgers

Blake Treinen and Blake Hassebrock played professional baseball together! Blake shares what it was like knowing and being friends with Blake Treinen back then. Treinen didn’t care to be a popular guy, he just listened to God and was obedient. He talks about his struggles over the years trying to balance living in the secular world and fitting in, versus living fully as a Christian.
Hassebrock and Treinen discuss the challenges Treinen faced through high school and the beginning of his college career - type two diabetes, bullying, rejection, and more… Treinen took time off of baseball, which is quite odd for professional baseball players.
Hassebrock and Treinen dive deep into Treinen’s baseball career and journey to the big leagues. When Treinen faced troubles and rejection, he saw God working in his life and knew that God was still calling him to baseball. Even through breaking his back pitching, he still went back to baseball.
Treinen and Hassebrock talk about the issues rising against Christianity. Individuals are attacking and discriminating against Christians. The Dodgers aren’t defending their Christian players, so Treinen states that they chose business above morals in this move. God never loses. At the end of the day, God will have justice. Blake is respecting the situation and isn’t bringing up the actions of others, but he made his statement and is moving on from it. While he could’ve been fired for his statement, he needed to voice it and he even thinks that many Christians will appreciate it.

Chris was born and raised in Las Vegas and was raised in the church. Chris’ family was heavily involved at church as well. Chris shares that the skepticism with finances and the church would be solved if the church apologizes, repents, and moves forward.
Does God get mad at you for making money? No. God blesses you with a skill to make money, employ others, and help your community. Blake shares his experience and thoughts he had when he and his family started tithing.
Blake and Chris open up about their journeys in entrepreneurship. Blake took a risk and moved his whole family across the country. Chris lost his son, and going through that showed him that entrepreneurship will never be as hard as that.

Ivan is a partner in Ryan Pineda’s Airbnb coaching, a husband, a father, and a follower. Chris and Ivan dive deep into Ivan's life before he was saved as a young man. Ivan used to party a lot and sneak out of his parents' house before his last hurrah. However, Ivan's last hurrah didn't go as planned—everything that could go wrong did! Right after that, Ivan attended a Christian retreat through his church and has been involved with the church ever since. His way of thinking and actions changed so much that his brother asked him, “Who even are you?”
While Ivan acknowledges that he isn’t perfect, he has never strayed from the path, and God has kept him in line. Chris and Ivan discuss the importance of prayer in Ivan’s journey. Prayer has guided Ivan through business and even led him to his wife. Involving God in your life every day through prayer helps practice gratitude, even in challenging times. Gratitude, according to Ivan, unlocks many blessings that God has in store for you. What are you grateful for today?
Ivan has always been an entrepreneur at heart, believing that he would rather live with failure than regret. He relies on his wife for advice, feedback, and as a life partner. Chris and Ivan discuss relationship roles and dynamics, highlighting that a man needs to have a mission for his wife to support, debunking negative connotations associated with submissive wives. The couple turns to the Bible for advice and guidance in making the right choices, viewing marriages as partnerships. Chris shares how his wife holds him accountable and prevents him from making poor choices in his life.
Discussing the failure of relationships, Chris and Ivan emphasize the importance of working together rather than pursuing individual interests. Chris shares his mindset, where if his wife’s business takes off, he will swallow his pride and support her business. Ivan's advice to men is to be the best version of themselves for their partners.
