#142 Philippa Tuttiett on Excelling Across Arenas

mercredi 22 novembre 2023Duration 29:52

Hello and welcome to Wanna Be, the podcast that takes you from where you are to where you Wanna Be, in 30 minutes or less. I'm your host, Imriel Morgan, Founder of Content is Queen, a podcast agency and community devoted to amplifying diverse voices. If you want to make your voice heard, visit contentisqueen.org to discover our creator community and how we can elevate your podcast.

Today, we have an extraordinary guest: Philippa Tuttiettt. Philippa is no stranger to breaking barriers, both in sports and business. She represented Wales in Seven Six Nations championships and the 2014 Rugby World Cup, all while establishing and running Female Builders and Interiors, the UK’s first building company to offer an all-female workforce, back in 2007. Beyond rugby and construction, Philippa also shines as a pundit, offering her expert insights into the sport she loves so dearly.

In this episode, we delve into how Philippa manages to blur the line between work and play, building a business around her passion for rugby, and taking responsibility from a young age. Whether you're an aspiring athlete, entrepreneur, or someone navigating the tricky balance of work and personal life, there's something in this episode for everyone.

What an amazing episode with Philippa Tuttiett! Her journey from the rugby field to the construction site and then to the commentary box is truly one for the books. She reminds us that life doesn't have to be limited to just one passion; you can excel in multiple arenas.

Thank you for joining us on this episode of Wanna Be. If Philippa's story resonated with you, please consider sharing this episode. The world needs more multi-dimensional stories of grit, determination, and triumph like this one. Remember to follow us on your favourite podcast player and on Instagram @contentisqueenhq.

I’m Imriel Morgan, Founder of Content is Queen, a podcast agency and community for ambitious podcasters. Welcome to a special bonus episode for my parenting special. If you listened to the previous episodes, you would have heard me say that while every guest is a parent, this isn’t a parenting podcast, so expect the same great practical steps to elevate your career. And that remains true for this episode too.

Before we get to my next incredible guest- We’ve opened applications for our 2022 Micro-grant for Podcasters Programme. If you have a podcast idea that the world needs to hear, you can apply for a grant of £2500 or £5000. Applications are open now at https://bit.ly/podmicrogrant or visit contentisqueen.org and head to News. Applications close on November 30th. Terms apply.

Joining me this week for a special bonus episode is Michelle Kennedy, the Founder of one of the fastest-growing social networking apps for women, Peanut. Before creating Peanut, Michelle was a corporate lawyer. She then became the Deputy CEO of the dating app Badoo and a director at Bumble.

In today’s episode, Michelle gets candid about the reality of building a successful business with a toddler and baby on the way. She shares what it’s really like to raise investment while pregnant and the sacrifices she had to make with friends and family to build Peanut up to what it is today. Michelle also shares the one thing that helped her maintain her passion and motivation.

OUTRO

Guys! Michelle Kennedy is an actual inspiration and, honestly, goals for me! Her journey is truly inspirational, and I hope you caught that. You can follow her work on Instagram @MichelleKennedylon.
