Bio: Anick Desrosiers is a doctoral student at McGill University's School of Social Work. Trained in social work and psychotherapy, she continues to be actively involved with people in parallel with her research on trauma recognition in Montreal's homeless services.
Drawing on her intimate, professional and academic experience of the street, Anick founded and facilitated a community of practice in mental health and homelessness, as well as an outreach psychotherapy service for people experiencing homelessness. She currently works in a day center and is involved in a number of militant actions. She also teaches at the Université de Montréal.
Recognized for her willingness and ability to transform knowledge into collaborative action, she hopes to continue mobilizing people towards the construction of a society proud of the active solicitude it embodies, where every human being finds a home and a place in his or her community.
