Waffle On about Weird Science

Another jump down the 1985 memory lane with this hit teen comedy from John Hughes. Its certainly of its time but wowzers it was a fun film to talk about. 

The lads first catch up on what they have seen at the cinema and on tv and then jump into this comedy.

The Last Detail

Its part 11 of 12 celebrating 1973 and we have good old Jack Nicholson to smile and raise an eyebrow through the whole of this episode. Yes its the 1973 film The Last Detail also starring a very youn (and sane) Randy Quaid and Otis Young. 

The film is a journey from Navy base to Navy prison as Signalman 1st Class Billy Buddusky and Gunners mate 1st Class Richard Mulhall escort young prisoner seaman Laurence Meadows to his final destination (well for 8 years) due to him attempting to steal $40. They get into some scrapes but ultimately its buddy movie in the cold.

Waffle On about Doctor Who and the 50th Celebration Hello and welcome to this mini episode of Waffle On chatting away about Doctor Who and the big old 50th celebration. Yes way back in 1963 Britain suddenly had a new tv show, it had an old man, a young girl, two teachers and all of them stuck in a blue box. Made in 1969 and coming in at 26 episodes this series tells the tale of Marty Hopkirk coming back from the dead as a ghost and helping his old partner Jeff Randall solve crimes. Waffle On about The Odd Couple. On this edition we talk about one of Kells favorite film The Odd Couple. Written by Neil Simon, directed by Gene Saks, and starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau , It is the story of two divorced men – Felix Ungar, the neurotic neatfreak, and Oscar Madison, the fun-loving slob – who decide to live together, even though their personalities clash. We had a great time chatting about this awesome film and we hope you enjoy listening to it. Mini Waffle On about Lack of Sports on Terrestrial TV. Another mini waffle for you and in this edition we talk about the lack of sports on terrestrial TV.  The BBC has recently lost F1 to Sky Sports, another in a long list of sports standard TV stations have lost to the bigger cable channels. If you can afford Sky then great but a lot of people can;t afford to splash and so are missing out on watching great sports for free. Cricket is lost, the majority of football games are lost and as mentioned F1 is lost but and thank goodness for a but, F1 has been partly saved by a new venture called F1 in Pubs http://www.f1inpubs.co.uk/ in which Meds attended the Australian race  in Birmingham. Mini Waffle On about Food TV Programmes. Love them or hate them there is no ignoring them. Food programmes have been dominating the little screen for quite a few years and Kell has finally had enough and vents his annoyance right here on Waffle On while Meds stands up in the kitchen court and defends (at least)  some of the programmes.
