Welcome toVoices in the Wind, a podcast from the Chinook Sexual Assault Centre (CSAC) where we share news about our mission to end sexual violence and child abuse across south-west Alberta.

In our first episode we welcome CSAC CEO Kristine Cassie who talks about the history of the organization, some of the programming we offer, about the prevalence of sexual violence in our society and about what we can do to help.

In this episode we speak to Cheryl Patterson, Manager of the Chinook Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CCYAC). Cheryl speaks about the work the CCYAC is doing to support children and youth affected by abuse. She talks about the Centre's programming and the unique partnerships between agencies which come together here.

Are your kids safe this summer? During the summer months children and youth have more time on their hands ... and more time to spend online. In this episode, we talk to Cpl. Heather Bangle with the Southern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) who talks about the dangers lurking online and what parents can do to keep their kids safe. Plus, we welcome Jacqueline Ahenkorah as the new host of our Chinook Winds segment. She'll share details on our Dream Vacation raffle and highlight the important contribution made by one of our major donors - MNP Lethbridge.

Join us as we explore the rich history and culture of the Metis in Southern Alberta as part of an episode dedicated to National Indigenous History Month in Canada. Kimberly Hansen from the Lethbridge and Area Metis Association joins us to talk about the strength and resiliency of the Metis community as well as a new partnership with the Chinook Sexual Assault Centre. Plus, we welcome our new furry four-legged team member and bid farewell to our our show host Samantha Scott.
