Season 8 concludes with a message of hope. During the first 20 minutes we encouraged the #VocalFam to give singers, voice teachers, and our entire community some grace and understanding after last week's Cynthia Erivo video situation. Then, Dr. P encouraged us, despite the times, to work to build student resilience by incorporating more hopefulness into our pedagogy. Both are experienced singers and teachers, but we wanted to kick off the series with these terrific colleagues because they dedicate a great deal of their professional work to training and mentoring voice teachers. Hear about their diverse backgrounds, their collaborations while teaching together at Penn State, and their book's tremendous contribution to contemporary voice pedagogy. Dr. P and Sarah talk about selecting repertoire for students versus allowing them to pick their own repertoire but all in an effort to hope that the student will give a genuine, honest, true performance and say something. Dr. P was encouraged by a refreshing week of psychoacoustics in graduate ped. Of course, WandaVision episode 4, as Marvel's gift to MCU nerd fans everywhere continues.

Spring semester is off and running and Dr. P realized he mentions all these historic voice pedagogy authors out of context, so this spring he set up Grad Ped 1 to start with an overview of voice pedagogy history. Also we review Wanda Vision episodes 1-3.
