| 21questions with Dr. Mira Tabet | 06 Jan 2023 | 00:41:29 | |
Dr. Mira Tabet was 8 years old when she realized her love for animals. Ever since then, she was surrounded by dogs. Her first dog was her first best friend and partner in crime.
Her first pets fuelled her desire to become a vet and do her best to take care of every pet she comes across and not have any pet owner go through what she went through. Her dream was realized in November 2018 when she opened her own veterinary clinic and founded Dr. Paw in Mont Liban in Lebanon. She has loved every single day to the fullest and is excited to get to know you and your furry friends!
Vet Candy is delighted to have had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Mira to play 21 Questions. She shared the best career advice she ever received and explained the three qualities that got her where she is today.

| 21 Questions with Dr. Craig Clifford | 03 Jan 2023 | 00:52:09 | |
Loving what you do for work isn’t a requirement to have a successful career. But it sure helps! Luckily for Dr. Craig Clifford, the hours fly by when he is at work. That’s because for this veterinarian, medical oncology and improving the lives of pets is what he was made for. “I truly love what I do,” he says. Following an internship and a medical oncology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, he went on to later become a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology) in 2003. His more recent accomplishments are equally impressive! From writing and co-authoring over 50 papers and book chapters to lecturing at major veterinary meetings in the USA and abroad, Dr. Craig truly embodies the saying, “Do what you love and love what you do.” Vet Candy is delighted to have had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Craig Clifford recently. For this University of Tennessee graduate, being one of some 47,000 veterinarians in the United States is more than just a job – it is a calling. But unlike the thousands of other vet med professionals out there, Dr. Amanda Steffen has a very special (some might even say unique) interest…senior pets and aging care. Grey muzzles? Adorable white fur? Sign her up! When it comes to older pets, Dr. Steffen loves educating owners about aging changes and how we can help our pets transition into seniors with grace, comfort, and happiness. Building upon her background in emergency medicine, general practice, and non-profit veterinary medicine, tackling older pet issues was the perfect next step. Vet Candy is delighted to have had the opportunity to interview Dr. Amanda Steffen. Today, she shares her vision for senior animal care, discusses some of the problems facing modern vet med, and also explains why scheduling vacations is an absolute must. | Let’s have a happy and healthy holiday with Dr. Jessica Turner | 01 Dec 2022 | 00:51:15 | |
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I hope you are humming that song now because my brain can’t help but fill in “with kids jingle belling and everyone telling you be of good cheer!” On a serious note, I do believe it is the most wonderful time of the year but sometimes I find myself struggling to go along with the rest of this song and be of good cheer. Instead of slowing down and enjoying the magic that comes with the season, I find myself going at a pace that isn’t sustainable. Then in the blink of an eye, the holidays are over and I am left wondering if I was even present for any of it. I somehow chose to focus on the things that didn’t really matter and missed out on the ones that did. Can you relate? Maybe it’s because you are drowning in your already overflowing “to-do” list or the mere thought of how much money it’s going to take to make the holidays a reality. Or maybe you are approaching the first holiday season without a loved one or better yet, the first where you are focused on remaining sober in a sea of festive spirits. Whatever you are facing this holiday season, I got you covered with the “Living Well Holiday Special”! Inside, you will find everything from healthier recipes to fun gift ideas to insight into being in charge of your finances instead of it being in charge of you. My hope is that this book along with the featured podcasts will leave you not only excited about the holidays but prepared to enjoy them as you should! From my family to yours - Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! With so much love, 😍😍😍😍😍 Dr. Jessica Turner

| Dr. Renee Wellenstein wants you to heal yourself! | 22 Aug 2022 | 00:49:31 | |
On this episode we meet Dr. Renee Wellenstein. Dr. Renee is a double board certified doctor who has been working with women for over 20 years and due to her own personal health challenges, she stepped outside the box of conventional medicine to take a radically different approach to heal herself from the deep depths of burnout.
About a decade ago, Dr. Renee was living what she thought was her dream life; she was an extremely busy Ob/Gyn, married to a doctor, with toddler twins and had moved to a quaint, quiet town in the country.
One day in May 2012, Dr. Renee fell off of her horse during a riding lesson and broke her back. She not only struggled with severe back pain, but with fatigue and the inability to focus. Her doctor diagnosed her with depression, but her symptoms did not improve after trying two different antidepressants. Two years after her injury, Dr. Renee was still struggling with unexplained symptoms. After exhausting all of her options in the conventional healthcare system, she was put in contact with a doctor who was an “anti-aging” practitioner. She finally received the appropriate diagnosis, her symptoms resolved and she got back on her feet and joined the world of functional medicine.
In 2019, Dr. Renee started Kaspira Elite Health Consulting, LLC. Throughout her journey she has certainly faced her fair share of obstacles and has mastered the art of leaping into transitions with each pivot. Now Dr. Renee empowers women to take control of their health, jumpstart their energy, improve their confidence, and reignite their libido!
