| Okay, Fine, You Were Right: Uncanny Was Awesome| UYNC S3 Ep 13 | 21 sept. 2026 | 00:59:00 | |
For literal years, AM has been telling CiCi that she needed to go to the Uncanny Experience. And for literal years, CiCi has basically responded, “That sounds fun! Have a great time!” Turns out she was missing out. Fine. AM was right. This week, we’re recapping the Uncanny Experience 2026: the X-Mansion, the professors, the classes, the Houses, Madripoor Nights, the drag show, the Cyclops and Phoenix wedding, celebrity guests, incredible cosplayers, and the general experience of being surrounded by people who are just as excited to talk about mutants as you are. CiCi talks about going from “everyone already knows each other and I’m going to be the awkward new kid” to making new friends, cosplaying Monet St. Croix, joining House Hellfire, attending Jean Grey’s extremely respectable and completely scandal-free bachelorette party, and realizing she probably should have listened to AM about this one a few years earlier. Meanwhile, AM was doing approximately 47 jobs as the Uncanny Experience’s resident Nightcrawler: teaching drama, greeting students, taking photos, officiating a superhero wedding, appearing at events, getting called out by drag queens, and—as apparently happens to Nightcrawler with surprising frequency—getting kissed. If you’re an X-Men fan who keeps looking at the Uncanny Experience and thinking, “Maybe next year,” take it from CiCi: do not spend four years being stubborn. Come next year. We’re planning to. | The Good, the Bad, and the Donna Troy: When Retcons Go Too Far | UYNC S3 Ep12 | 04 sept. 2026 | 00:38:45
In Part 2 of The Good, the Bad, and the Donna Troy, CiCi and AM keep digging into retroactive continuity—starting with some of the cleverest examples of writers changing what a story means without pretending the original story never happened. Swamp Thing gets one of comics’ great existential rewrites when Alan Moore asks a deeply uncomfortable question: what if Alec Holland didn’t become Swamp Thing at all? What if Alec died—and the thing walking around with his memories only thought it was him? Then Spider-Man goes from “teenager gets bitten by an irradiated spider” to an entire Web of Life and Destiny, complete with Spider-People across the multiverse, Madame Web, mystical connections, canon events, and the increasingly complicated question of whether becoming Spider-Man was ever actually an accident. And then there’s Magneto. His history as a Holocaust survivor wasn’t part of his original 1963 characterization, but it became so fundamental to understanding Erik Lehnsherr/Max Eisenhardt that adapting him for a modern timeline now creates its own continuity problem. How do you update a character without removing the history that made him who he is? Which brings us to the dangerous part of retcons: every change has a blast radius. Sometimes you change one detail and make decades of storytelling richer. Sometimes you need another retcon to explain the last retcon, another Crisis to fix the last Crisis, and eventually Donald Duck has run out of fingers to plug the holes in the boat. And yes, eventually we have to talk about Donna Troy. Along the way: Alan Moore being an actual wizard, why Marvel and DC desperately need OSHA, Dakota Johnson mentally leaving Madame Web before the rest of us did, Spider-Man metaphysics getting wildly out of hand, Charles and Erik making their relationship everybody else’s problem, Scarlet Witch family trees, the High Evolutionary doing weird shit on Mount Wundagore, and whether comic-book continuity should ever be treated like sacred text. | The Good, the Bad, and the Donna Troy: Retcons Done Right | UYNC S 3 Ep 11 | 31 août 2026 | 01:00:06
Retcon has become a dirty word in nerd spaces—but some of the things we consider absolutely essential to our favorite characters weren’t there in the first draft. This week on Up Your Nerd Cred, CiCi and AM are talking about the fine art of retroactive continuity: when changing the past makes a character richer, a universe more coherent, or a story considerably better. The goal? A nice, neat laparoscopic retcon. Tiny incision, repair the problem, respect the surrounding anatomy, and please do not leave canon looking like an episode of Botched. We dig into Superman’s constantly evolving mythology—from leaping tall buildings to flying, Kryptonite, and the ever-expanding list of Kryptonian survivors—and how characters like Supergirl and Alfred Pennyworth became indispensable parts of stories they weren’t originally part of. Then we hit some of the best examples of new ideas becoming impossible to imagine the mythology without: Batman: The Animated Series turning Mr. Freeze into the tragic Victor Fries we know today; Harley Quinn making the jump from animation into the DC canon; and the Speed Force giving decades of Flash lore a common foundation. Marvel gets its turn too, with Wolverine’s bone claws, the resurrection of Bucky Barnes as the Winter Soldier, and a Mary Jane Watson retcon that gives MJ a whole lot more agency in Peter Parker’s story. And then there’s Jason Todd, whose original backstory was basically “what if Dick Grayson again?” before DC decided that stealing the tires off the Batmobile was apparently a much better entrance. His resurrection, though? Well. Sometimes somebody punches reality and Donald Duck starts running out of fingers. Along the way: Doctor Doom, Nip/Tuck, comic-book OSHA violations, why Gotham apparently produces an alarming number of supervillains with advanced degrees, the continued importance of putting respect on Dr. Harleen Quinzel’s name, and why a good retcon should make you say “oh, that works” instead of “why is that attached there now?” And yes—this conversation got big enough that you’re getting a Part 2. | Your Movie Will Hold Up Better if You Punch Up, Brah | UYNC S3 Ep 10 | 24 août 2026 | 00:47:18
Did the movie stop holding up, or did we finally notice who it was stepping on? This week on Up Your Nerd Cred, CiCi is solo and talking about old movies, nostalgia, comedy, and the difference between a joke that punches up and one that punches down. The question is not whether every old story needs to be perfect. The question is: what are we being asked to laugh at? We look at movies and shows that still make room for people’s humanity, including The Birdcage, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, and But I’m a Cheerleader. Then we get into the messier side of comedy grammar with American Pie, Revenge of the Nerds, Sixteen Candles, The Crying Game, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Family Guy, and the way transness, queerness, consent, and bodily autonomy have been turned into punchlines. And because nerd culture is absolutely not exempt, we also talk about Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, Black Widow in Age of Ultron, fandom backlash, and why “that’s just how it was back then” does not work when other media from the same era was already making better choices. | She Can't Go on a Date with You, She's Gotta Finish Homework for 4th Period | UYNC S3 Ep 9 | 17 août 2026 | 00:32:17
Why does pop culture keep asking whether teenage girls are “mature enough” for adult men instead of asking why those men are pursuing teenagers in the first place? In this solo episode, CiCi looks at how books, movies, television, celebrity coverage, and fandom have normalized—or occasionally challenged—wild age gaps and major power imbalances. From the persistent misreading of Lolita and the manipulation at the center of An Education to The Crush, Hard Candy, American Beauty, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Twilight, Sabrina, Entrapment, and A View to a Kill, we’re examining who gets treated as responsible, who gets romanticized, and why the adult is still responsible for saying no. We also talk about changing attitudes toward grooming and age-gap relationships, the decline in teen sexual activity and teen birth rates, the disappearance of teen-centered physical spaces, and how predators moving online did not make them disappear—it changed the pipeline. Content note: This episode discusses grooming, child sexual abuse, statutory age differences, exploitation, and teen pregnancy. | When the Movie is Made with Love... We Know | UYNC S3 Ep 8 | 03 août 2026 | 00:24:34
This week on Up Your Nerd Cred, we’re closing out our toyetic movie trilogy with part two of our conversation with film producer Ben from Disrupt Entertainment. After talking through the early chaos of toy movies and the producer-side logic of adaptations, CiCi, AM, and Ben get into what happens when the movie finally stops acting embarrassed by the source material. We talk Barbie, Masters of the Universe, millennial wish fulfillment, Ryan Gosling’s Ken doing the most, Barbie as blank slate and cultural pressure cooker, and why a good adaptation does not have to copy every detail to respect the toy box. The question is not “can a toy movie be serious?” The question is whether the people making it understand what made people care in the first place: the play, the camp, the fantasy, the weirdness, and the fact that sometimes the skeleton man simply wants to be evil. | Respect the Toy Box if You Want the Cash! |UYNC S3 Ep 7 | 20 juil. 2026 | 00:49:24
This week on Up Your Nerd Cred, we’re continuing our toyetic movie conversation with film producer, distributor, sales agent, and friend of the pod Ben from Disrupt Entertainment. After talking last week about movies built from toys, games, comics, and merch machines, we’re getting into what happens when those adaptations grow up a little. Or at least try to. CiCi, AM, and Ben talk through Captain America 1990 versus Captain America: The First Avenger, the deeply chaotic 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie versus the modern animated Mario movies, the emotional violence of The Transformers: The Movie, Michael Bay’s Transformers, why Megan Fox’s character probably should have been the actual lead, and how The LEGO Movie understood the assignment better than it had any right to. Plus: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as Daredevil fanfiction, the problem with being embarrassed by the source material, and why respecting the toy box does not mean copying every piece exactly. Production note: this one is arriving a little later than planned because, between a laptop outage and a basement flood, it took a while to get time to edit. We are still investigating why Xi Jinping wanted to flood CiCi’s basement and ruin her Bowflex specifically [TO WHAT END?], but for now, the episode is here and the toys have been picked up. | Bro, We Could Tell Y’all Were Embarrassed By This... | UYNC S2 Ep 6 | 07 juil. 2026 | 00:54:04
This week on Up Your Nerd Cred, we’re talking about the merch grab of it all. From Care Bears and Clue to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Mortal Kombat, Pokémon, and Battleship, we’re looking at what happens when movies come from toy aisles, board games, arcade cabinets, comic shelves, and full-blown brand ecosystems. Because here’s the thing: a movie being made to sell toys, games, cards, Happy Meals, action figures, or tickets is not automatically the problem. Sometimes the merch grab is the reason the weird little movie gets made in the first place. The real problem is when the movie is embarrassed by the thing it’s adapting. CiCi and AM talk through the camp, the cash grabs, the practical suits, the arcade chaos, the collectible feelings, the three separate Clue endings, the full-body commitment of Power Rangers, and why “You sunk my Battleship” is not, in fact, a narrative. Plus: why some movies become beloved because they embrace the ridiculousness, while others struggle because brand recognition is doing all the heavy lifting. Listen on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube. | How Long Do They Stay Heroes Without the Heart? | UYNC S3 Ep 5 | 01 juil. 2026 | 00:38:32
This week on Up Your Nerd Cred, CiCi is flying solo and talking about one of the most disrespected team roles: the Heart. Sure, the Leader gets the speeches, the Brain gets the plans, and the Lancer gets to be correct in an irritating way, but what happens when a team loses the person keeping everyone connected to the mission, to each other, and to the people they’re supposed to protect? We’re looking at Ma-Ti from Captain Planet, Sailor Moon, Steven Universe, Phil Coulson, the Flash, and Green Arrow to talk about why Heart is not the same thing as weak. Sometimes the Heart is empathy. Sometimes the Heart is cosmic love and purification powers. Sometimes the Heart is the emotional support child who desperately needs therapy. Sometimes the Heart is the person whose loss finally turns a group of powerful people into a team. And sometimes the Heart is an abrasive guy with arrows making sure the Justice League remembers regular people exist. | Give Your Brain Enough Enrichment or They’ll Tear Up the Couch/Universe | UYNC S3 Ep 4 | 23 juin 2026 | 00:29:05
Some dogs need puzzle toys, long walks, and enrichment activities or they’ll eat your couch. Some comic book geniuses need the same thing, except when they get bored, lonely, or isolated, they tear up the multiverse. In this solo episode of Up Your Nerd Cred, CiCi digs into the Brain trope and why the smartest person on the team still needs a team. From Charles Wallace in A Wrinkle in Time to Dark Mercury in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Kang the Conqueror, Lex Luthor, Beast, the Maker, Doctor Doom, Shuri, Moon Girl, and Riri Williams, we’re talking about what happens when intelligence has no challenge, no community, no accountability, and way too much free time. Because the Brain can build the machine, hack the system, decode the mystery, and save the day — but they also need somebody nearby to say, “You are being very clever, but absolutely not.” This week, we’re asking: is intelligence really the problem, or is it boredom? Is Lex Luthor using Superman as the world’s most expensive enrichment toy? Is Kang just a time-traveling husky with future tech? And why should every superhero team make sure their Brain has friends, projects, snacks, and at least three follow-up questions before they say yes to the plan? | You Can Have My Sword... and My SASS | UYNC S3 Ep 3 | 15 juin 2026 | 00:34:44
This week, CiCi is flying solo and circling back to one of the ensemble roles that deserves a little more respect: the lancer. What makes someone a good second voice in a group? Not the rival trying to take the leader’s spot, not the hater who just wants to be difficult, and not the chaotic teammate making everything worse for fun. A real lancer is trusted opposition: the person who can tell the leader they’re being stupid and still stand beside them when the fight starts. CiCi breaks down the trope through Marco from Animorphs, Hawkeye/Clint Barton from Marvel Comics and the MCU, and Sailor Mars/Rei Hino from Sailor Moon, and ultimately why sometimes the best teammate is the one willing to hurt your feelings for the sake of the mission. | Ensembles Pt 2: We Need A Heart and A Brain and... | UYNC S3 Ep2 | 08 juin 2026 | 00:38:51
We’re back with Part 2 of our season opener on why ensembles hit harder than one-off team-ups. This week, CiCi and AM pick up the conversation with the roles that keep superhero teams from becoming just a pile of costumes and trauma responses. We talk about why every team needs a brainiac, why the genius should probably not be left alone with a whiteboard and no emotional supervision, and how characters like Reed Richards, The Maker, and Beast show what can happen when brilliance starts outrunning accountability. Then we get into the Heart of the team: the character whose power is empathy, connection, emotional grounding, or, in some cases, extremely dangerous big feelings. From Ma-Ti and Sailor Moon to Jean Grey, Wanda, Nightcrawler, Sokka, and Steven Universe, we look at why “heart” is not a weak role, even if people love pretending it is. Finally, we talk legacy kids: Young Avengers, Robins, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Hawkeye, Hulkling, Wiccan, and the messy question of what it means to inherit a name, reject a legacy, or build your own identity while the original hero is still standing right there. | The Fastball Special, and Other Reasons Ensembles are Awesome | UYNC S3 Ep 1 | 01 juin 2026 | 00:52:19
After a surprise hiatus, Up Your Nerd Cred is back — and we’re kicking things off with the first half of a two-part conversation about why ensembles hit harder than one-off team-ups. This week, CiCi and AM dig into the difference between a fun crossover and a true ensemble: the kind of team where the characters don’t just fight together, but learn each other’s rhythms, weaknesses, emotional damage, and extremely questionable coping mechanisms. From the Avengers and X-Men to the Bat-Family, Teen Titans, and Young Avengers, we look at why some characters become more interesting when they have people around to challenge, balance, roast, and occasionally throw them like a fastball special. We also get into why Captain America is so effective with a team, why Batman should not be left unsupervised, why Wolverine keeps pretending he doesn’t love the X-Men, and why Hawkeye standing next to gods with nothing but arrows and audacity is actually part of the point. You say you want original characters… but do you actually support them? This week on Up Your Nerd Cred, we’re digging into one of the biggest contradictions in fandom: everyone claims they’re tired of reboots, remakes, and multiverses—but when brand new characters show up, they rarely get the same attention, time, or support. From characters like Moon Girl and Naomi to Mosaic, Sideways, and Escapade, we take a look at what happens when comics actually do create original heroes—and why so many of them struggle to stick. | Cons and Pros: How Comic-Con Built Nerd Culture (Part 1) | UYNC S 2 Ep 13 | 06 avr. 2026 | 00:42:02
This week we're time traveling from early sci-fi meetups and zines to the massive spectacle of modern Comic-Con culture. We’re talking about how fandom sustained itself before the internet, how conventions like San Diego Comic-Con became industry powerhouses, and why studios now treat cons as targeted marketing goldmines. From Hall H reveals to regional cons across the country, this episode dives into how community-driven spaces became global cultural events. And of course, not every con is a success. We’re looking at the logistical chaos behind DashCon and the infamous Willy Wonka Experience in Glasgow, where expectations and reality could not have been further apart. Next week, AM Diaz is back to break down what con culture actually feels like from the inside—because there’s a difference between knowing the history and living the experience (especially if it involves a lot of blue paint). | We’ve Been Here the Whole Time: Women in Nerd Culture | UYNC S2 Ep 12 | 30 mars 2026 | 01:07:21
Who built nerd culture? If you’ve ever been made to feel like women “entered” comics, fandom, or nerd spaces late, this episode is here to gently (and not-so-gently) correct the record. Because women didn’t just show up—we’ve been reading, writing, editing, organizing, and sustaining nerd culture from the beginning. This week, CiCi and AM Diaz dig into the history that gets overlooked, from the rise of romance comics in the 1940s and 50s, to the steady presence of readers who kept shops afloat, to the fandom spaces where women created the stories they weren’t being given. We’re talking about the editors, writers, and fans who helped shape the industry, even when they weren’t centered in it. We also highlight the impact of creators like Naoko Takeuchi, whose work expanded global fandom, and the legacy of Lucille Ball, whose support helped Star Trek become one of the most influential franchises in sci-fi history. And yes—we talk about the “Women in Refrigerators” trope, but more importantly, we look at how women in comics have always been more than just plot devices. This week on Up Your Nerd Cred, AM Diaz takes the lead mic while CiCi reacts as the conversation dives into one of the most debated topics in modern fandom: Disneyland. The Little Mermaid: A Gay Danish Allegory (Tentacles Optional) | Up Your Nerd Cred Did you know the original version of The Little Mermaid is significantly darker than the Disney classic most of us grew up with? Before Ariel was collecting gadgets and gizmos aplenty, Hans Christian Andersen was writing a story about identity, belonging, and the cost of trying to fit into a world that might never accept you. In this solo episode of Up Your Nerd Cred, CiCi takes a deep dive into the 1837 fairy tale that inspired the Disney Renaissance classic and explores how the story evolved from a tragic Danish allegory into one of the most beloved animated films of all time. We’re talking about the original story, the Disney adaptation, the cultural context around Howard Ashman and the Disney Renaissance, the drag inspiration behind Ursula, and why modern internet discourse about Ariel’s hair color might be missing the point entirely. | Why Black Heroes Are Always Carrying Trauma | Storm, Shuri & the Cost of Being “Strong” | UYNC S2 E7 | 20 févr. 2026 | 01:11:55
What does it cost to always be the strong one? This week, we’re digging into grief, trauma, and emotional resilience across Marvel’s Black heroes — from Luke Cage’s incarceration and invulnerability, to Storm’s claustrophobia and PTSD, to Shuri’s rage on the ancestral plane, to Riri Williams building armor around her grief, and Sam Wilson proving that sometimes the most powerful move isn’t a punch — it’s a conversation. Joined by licensed clinical social worker Dr. Mercedes Samudio, we explore how strength, leadership, and representation intersect with mental wellness — and why Black superheroes are so often expected to carry everything without breaking. | Black Power Ranger or Pink One? Growing Up as the Token Black Girl | UYNC S2 Ep 6 | 16 févr. 2026 | 00:31:49
Were you the Black Power Ranger… or the Pink one? In this solo episode of Up Your Nerd Cred, CiCi dives into what it meant to grow up as the token Black girl in 90s TV friend groups — and the quiet, uncomfortable pressure to “identify correctly.” From Saved by the Bell and Clueless to Daria, Power Rangers, and that infamous “Pretty White Kids with Problems” sketch, we’re talking about:
We also dig into the academic side — from 1970s television shifts to Kimberlé Crenshaw’s definition of intersectionality — and why it's nice to not have to root for everybody Black just because they’re the only one. Revel in the ability to experience both Black excellence and Black mediocrity onscreen without it being the only thing that exists. | Zero to Hero: The Evolution of the Disney Prince Pt 2 (With Solving for X) | UYNC S2 Ep 5 | 06 févr. 2026 | 00:43:50
We’re back with Part 2 of our deep dive into the Disney Prince pipeline — and this time, things get competitive. CiCi, AM Diaz, and the Solving for X crew finish the conversation by putting these princes to the test: hotness, usefulness, and whether they were wildly out of their league. From Prince Naveen and Flynn Rider to Hercules, Aladdin, and the Beast, we rank, debate, disagree loudly, and absolutely overthink animated men. Along the way, we talk emotional growth, healthy partnerships, why “nice” is not the same as good, and how Disney accidentally taught a generation what to expect (and what not to tolerate) in romance. This episode is opinionated, chaotic, affectionate, and exactly as unserious as ranking fictional princes should be. 👑🔥 Guest IG Handles:Kevin — @kjeezy87 Instagram: @upyournerdcredpod Host: @ciracdavis Support the show / bonus content: #UpYourNerdCred, #UpYourNerdCredPod, #Podcast, #Podcasts, #PodcastLife, #PodcastRecommendations, #NewPodcast, #PopCulturePodcast, #NerdPodcast, #GeekPodcast, #Disney, #DisneyPodcast, #DisneyAdults, #DisneyFans, #DisneyCommunity, #DisneyPrinces, #PrinceCharming, #FlynnRider, #PrinceNaveen, #Kristoff, #LiShang, #Aladdin, #Hercules, #BeautyAndTheBeast, #TheBeast, #Mulan, #Tangled, #PrincessAndTheFrog, #Animation, #AnimatedMovies, #FilmPodcast, #MoviePodcast, #PopCulture, #NerdCulture, #GeekCulture, #QueerNerds, #LGBTQPodcast, #QueerPodcast, #XMenTas, #SolvingForX
| Zero to Hero: The Evolution of the Disney Prince Pt 1 (With Solving for X) | UYNC S2 Ep 4 | 30 janv. 2026 | 01:00:19 | |
This week, we’re stepping outside the Marvel and DC multiverses (just for a minute) to talk about the Disney Princes — and how they evolved from voiceless, last-minute plot devices into fully realized characters with agency, flaws, and emotional growth. Joined by the Solving for X crew, we break down the different eras of Disney princes, what makes a “good” prince versus a functional one, and whether increased involvement actually strengthens (or undermines) the princesses’ agency. From early fairy-tale stand-ins to modern, ride-or-die partners, this conversation goes places. So maybe put some headphones in during the Heated Rivalry discussion... 👀 Guests

Did you grow up thinking cartoons were just something you watched before going outside—only to realize later they were also 22-minute toy ads wrapped in surprisingly strong moral messaging? This week on Up Your Nerd Cred, CiCi and AM Diaz dive into the cartoon blocks that shaped Gen X and Millennial nerd culture, from the Hanna-Barbera–dominated Saturdays of the 70s and early 80s to the crowded, competitive cartoon ecosystems of the 90s—and finally to the slow decline of Saturday morning cartoons in the early 2000s. | 22 Minute Toy Ads: Why Gen X and Millennials Nostalgia Game is Strong | UYNC S2 Ep 2 | 16 janv. 2026 | 00:52:50
Did you ever wonder why you still remember cereal mascots, toy commercials, and Saturday morning cartoons with unsettling clarity? In this episode of Up Your Nerd Cred, we break down how entire generations—especially Gen X and Millennials—were deliberately marketed to as children, and how those strategies didn’t just sell toys. They shaped nostalgia, spending habits, and fandom itself. We introduce the concept of “toyetic” media, explore how 1980s deregulation transformed cartoons into sales engines, and examine the psychological tactics—eye contact, scarcity, completionism—that made marketing to children extraordinarily effective. From cereal aisles to toy aisles to long-term IP control, this episode looks at how marketing, psychology, and media converged in ways we’re still reckoning with today. Joining the discussion is Anscia Terelle, marketing strategist and community-builder, to talk about ethical marketing, storytelling, representation, and why legacy marketing institutions left enormous amounts of money on the table by focusing too narrowly on a single demographic for far too long.

Welcome back to Up Your Nerd Cred, and welcome to Season 2. This week, we’re talking about toys-not just the ones we played with, but the ones that quietly taught us who we were allowed to be. From Saturday morning cartoons doubling as toy ads, to dolls and action figures that gave some of us freedom and others a box, this episode is about imagination, identity, and why nostalgia hits harder than people want to admit. Joining us this week is the absolutely fabulous London Villamayor, official cosplayer for The Uncanny Experience, longtime Power Rangers fan, She-Ra devotee, Barbie icon, and true mistress of shapeshifting. | Flash, Get in Here and Fix This Timeline | UYNC Ep 28 | 26 déc. 2025 | 00:58:50
If timelines keep breaking, and universes keep rebooting, eventually someone has to live with the consequences. In the thrilling conclusion of our Flash trilogy, CiCi and AM tackle the fallout of Flashpoint, the collapse of the New 52, and the long road back to legacy through DC Rebirth. This is the episode where Wally West’s disappearance actually matters, where memory becomes a superpower, and where DC finally has to confront what happens when you erase generational heroes. Whether your Flash is Jay, Barry, Wally, Bart, or Ace — this episode makes the case that legacy isn’t optional. It’s the engine. What We Cover

The Flash isn’t just one guy in red spandex—it’s a whole family, and DC continuity has been putting them through a cosmic blender since the Silver Age. In this episode, we break down how Crisis on Infinite Earths reshaped DC’s multiverse, why Wally West had to grow from “Kid Flash” into the Flash, and how the Speed Force became the backbone of modern Flash mythology. Then we get into the most chaotic redhead time-disaster in the family tree: Bart Allen (Impulse/Kid Flash II)— the grandson-from-the-future who makes “no impulse control” look like a mission statement. We talk Titans, Young Justice, Infinite Crisis fallout, the Rogues going off-script, and why the Flash legacy always comes with trauma and heart. Also: holiday banter, pop culture tangents, and the universal truth that if you can convince a Flash to sit still, you can convince anybody to do anything. In this episode:

| Is Thor Falling on My Car an Act of God?| UYNC Ep 25 | 05 déc. 2025 | 00:30:46 | |
What actually happens when superheroes, gods, villains, and reality-warpers run headfirst into real-world law? Is Thor falling on your car… an Act of God? In this episode, CiCi breaks down the surprisingly relatable 1L-level legal concepts hiding inside Marvel and DC storylines: torts, state actors, qualified immunity, contracts under duress (looking at you, Mephisto), superheroes testifying in costume, the Rule Against Perpetuities vs immortals (!!), and why Franklin Richards is a property lawyer’s actual nightmare. This is a casual-but-deep legal nerd-out, filled with comics lore, real doctrine, accessible explanations, and the kind of storytelling that makes even the driest law school topics fun. If you’ve ever wondered how the legal system would deal with Batman on payroll, Spider-Man on the witness stand, or a gamma bomb accident that doubles as a workplace safety violation… buckle up. Carol Danvers may be the Captain Marvel you know from the MCU — but she’s far from the only one to claim that name. This week, CiCi and AM Diaz explore the women who redefined what “Marvel” means: Carol Danvers, the Air Force pilot turned cosmic powerhouse, and Monica Rambeau, the light-speed leader who once captained the Avengers before most of the guys even made the roster. From feminist icons to cosmic soldiers, from Kree DNA to the power of pure light, we’re unpacking how both women earned (and sometimes fought for) the same title — and how their legacies still shape the Marvel Universe today. When is a mask not a mask? When it’s an alter. This week, CiCi and AM dive into the complicated, chaotic world of Moon Knight — mercenary, avatar of Khonshu, and one of the few major Marvel characters officially diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). We unpack how Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and Jake Lockley came to be; how the show’s portrayal of DID compares to the comics; and how Marvel’s writers have tried (and sometimes failed) to balance heroism with mental health realism. From Werewolf by Night to the West Coast Avengers, from Khonshu’s divine meddling to the Moonlight Knight of Sailor Moon R (yes, really), we’re peeling back every layer of this complex hero. Along the way, CiCi and AM discuss the evolution of mental health in comics, how trauma shapes the Marvel and DC universes, and why Moon Knight’s journey is more than just another brooding vigilante story.
