The Reconstruction: Episode 39726 Jun 202400:27:16
It was a bright winters day in Sheffield at about 4pm as two friends were walking to return a drill bit to a tool factory. As the walked, they saw something just off the pavement in the hedges – it hadn’t been covered up and was easily spotted.  It was a three foot holdall.

The two men who found it carried it down the road, thinking it contained something valuable like an engine; it was certainly big enough. The bag was covered by a bedding sheet tied with rope and the body was wrapped in polythene. They undid the rope, unzipped the bag, peeled open the polythene and got the shock of their lives. They had found a badly decomposed body - a body that was soon confirmed to be that of a man who had been murdered a number of years before.

Just who had dumped the body in this area where it would easily be found. And who had killed him - and why?

Lust at the Theatre: Episode 30413 Sep 202200:25:40
This week, we head to the north-west of England and a local theatre group. The theatre is a serious business here and the productions put on are of a very high quality, but it is also very sociable. In the episode this week, two couples from the group begin socialising, but then Chris Linaker and Jenny Cupit begin a very passionate 16 month affair, where they explore their sexual boundaries.

But as we have seen so often on the UK True Crime podcast, an affair which is about sex for one party and love for another, often ends badly - and this week, we see a shocking and violent outcome.

The Rolex Killer: Episode 30123 Aug 202200:23:28
It was early on a summers morning in the English Channel, not far from Exeter, when the fishermen pulled up their nets. They were heavy and they were excited by what they may have caught.

They found themselves looking at the fully clothed body of a middle-aged man and immediately called the police. The difficulty the police experienced was that there was no ID on the man at all, just an expensive rolex watch on his wrist.

Would this help them find the man and just what happened to him?

Live Interview With Author Jason Wilson at CrimeCon London19 Jun 202200:29:46
At CrimeCon London last weekend, I had the pleasure of interviewing author Jason Wilson about his excellent new book, 'The Old Man And Me'. In front of a live audience, we chatted about why he wrote his book about growing up and living with his gangster father.

The book is no nonsense and talks about the reality of crime, not the glamourised versions you hear about elsewhere, and in this interview Jason was very open about his life. I hope you enjoy and there is link to the book below.

The Secret History of Flight 14916 Mar 202200:37:31
Imagine boarding a flight thinking you’re going on holiday, but instead you get taken hostage by Saddam Hussein.

It might sound far-fetched, but in August 1990 this really happened to the passengers and crew of British Airways Flight 149.

What followed has been dubbed the most shocking government cover-up of the last thirty years, and now there’s a new podcast about it. In this new podcast you’ll hear directly from the hostages - the people used as human shields by the Iraqi regime.

Listen to episode one here today.

For episode two and beyond, you should go and search for The Secret History of Flight 149 in your podcast app. If you’re listening on Apple podcasts, then it’s also available ad-free on the Crowd Stories channel.
