A large portion of the Book of Job (chapters 3 – 31) is devoted to 3 cycles of seemingly convoluted dialogs between the suffering Job and his 3 ignorant but well-meaning friends. Life is short, and waiting seems to make life even shorter. All we do in life is wait, even during the time of the apostles. The apostles trained under Jesus, they were able to do some things that Jesus was doing like healing the sick and casting out evil spirits. But just when some of them might think they are already ready, Jesus is then being crucified on the cross. From being ready to go, the apostles were asked to wait for the Holy Spirit. Surprisingly, they respond to this revelation by praying. Yes! They applied what they asked Jesus to teach them. So how should we put waiting in the right perspective? What is the right thing to do when waiting? Let us see together how God’s word will speak to us today. We can kindle the flame of missions through our giving. God's light will shine through us when we give ourselves wholly to His Missions. We do so because God first gave to us His one and only Son (John3:16). We will explore what we can give and who to give to. We will see and experience the blessings that comes from our giving. We will identify the challenges in giving and conclude with the exhortation to continue to do good, be generous and willing to share. In this way we will lay for ourselves treasures in the coming age (1 Timothy 6:17-19).
