Judge Dredd
Episode 133
lundi 23 septembre 2024 • Duration 40:34
For this episode, we’re diving into the world of the one and only Judge Dredd, where one man stands between order and chaos – and he’s got a killer jawline!
Morgan is taking Tom through a mini history lesson of the famous franchise, from its comic book beginnings to its big screen adaptations starring Sylvester Stallone and Karl Urban.
We discuss everything from Stallone's amazing delivery as Dredd, a surprising British tabloid newspaper's connection to the series, its inspiration from a crude reggae star and much more.
And a big shoutout to our latest Patreon supporters: Bill Gudde and Tom Rye!
Return to Oz
Episode 132
lundi 26 août 2024 • Duration 46:18
We're most definitely not in Kansas anymore...
For this episode, Tom is terrifying and confusing Morgan in equal measure, as he looks back at the 1985 unofficial sequel, Return to Oz.
From the nightmare fuel that was the Wheelies, to the bonkers behind-the-scenes goings on to even get this film made, we discuss at length how the project came about, all its cast and characters, and what people think of it today.
Ocean's Eleven
Episode 123
samedi 25 novembre 2023 • Duration 01:18:19
You're either in or you're out...
For this episode, we travel to Las Vegas 2001 and the heist of the century, as we discuss the excellent movie Ocean's Eleven. Starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and Matt Damon among many others, this was one of the biggest films of the 2000s, and still holds up today.
We also discuss:
- The not-so-great sequels, including Julia Roberts as Tess as Julia Roberts
- Don Cheadle's awful British accent
- What if the Frat Pack did Ocean's 11 instead of the Rat Pack?
- Clooney or Pitt?
- Was Terry Benedict all that bad?
- Brad Pitt's eating challenge
- The greatest comedy scene in cinema history starring Elliott Gould
Clips used:
- Ocean's Eleven (Warner Bros)
- Ocean's Twelve (Warner Bros)
- Ocean's 11 (1960) (Warner Bros)

It also features exclusive interviews with Batman actor Kevin Conroy and Robin himself, Burt Ward.
Beer choice: Guinness XX (dark, innit?)

dimanche 20 août 2017 • Duration 00:51
The episode delves into the history of the TV show and its movie follow-ups, its catchy music and how it influenced subsequent films.
We also rank the live action Bruce Banners, boogie on down the disco version of the ‘Lonely Man Theme’ and get baffled by the awful theme to the 1966 cartoon series.
There’s also a clip of when Morgan chatted Hulk with Doctor Who and Jessica Jones star David Tennant about his love of Bill Bixby.
Beer choice: Gamma Ray (for obvious reasons).
Check out our other episodes here, including other comic book episodes including X-Men and Defenders of the Earth.
Dark Crystal and Labyrinth
Episode 31
dimanche 30 juillet 2017 • Duration 00:01
Tom takes Morgan back to the 1980s – when fantasy movies were everywhere and full of animatronics and puppets instead of CGI and green screens.
This episode delves into the brilliant mind of the late, great Jim Henson, and two of his non-Muppet movies: The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. Movies that were not huge successes at the time, but have grown to become cult favourites.
We discuss everything from David Bowie’s bulge, scary bird things and whether pretending you were the baby in Labyrinth wins you any friends at uni.
Beer choice: Little Creatures
Developments since broadcast:
- The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance was released on Netflix to great acclaim in 2019. It was a prequel to the original film, and it was one of Tom’s favourite TV shows of the 2010s. We even went to the show’s launch in London!
- As of 2021, the Labyrinth sequel is still in the works. Doctor Strange’s Scott Derrickson will direct, with Maggie Levin co-writing with him, and The Jim Henson Company’s Brian Henson as executive producer.
- We eventually did a whole episode dedicated to David Bowie in film and TV, so you should check that out too.
The Mandela Effect
Episode 30
samedi 24 juin 2017 • Duration 00:37
For this podcast episode, Morgan takes Tom through the bizarre phenomenon of The Mandela Effect, where many people have shared memories of something that never happened.
We cover various mindmelts from C3PO’s leg to ‘Stop the Pigeon’ to ‘Kazaam’ to ‘The Berenstain Bears’, all of which confused the hell out of us.
The episode also includes a tribute to the late Sir Roger Moore.
Beer choice: Stella Artois (cockney rhyming slang for Mandela!)
Lost – The Unanswered Questions
Episode 29
dimanche 21 mai 2017 • Duration 00:01
A very disgruntled Tom takes Morgan through one of his all-time favourite TV shows: Lost, marking 7 years since it ended on May 23.
Though, you wouldn’t know it by how angry he sounds when discussing all the big questions that were never properly answered, from The Numbers to The Smoke Monster. Meanwhile, Morgan shows off his impressive Matthew Fox and Joseph Fiennes impressions. Now, where’s that DHARMA beer?
WARNING: Contains HUGE spoilers for the whole of Lost.
Beer choice: Oliver’s Island.
Planet of the Apes
Episode 28
samedi 15 avril 2017 • Duration 00:01
You maniacs! Damn you all to hell!
Morgan takes Tom through the entire sprawling Planet of the Apes movie series, with Tom being utterly confused over how many films were made in such a short space of time – covering all the movies and TV series.
From the original series starring Charlton Heston and Roddy McDowall, to the many spinoffs and cartoons, to the recent prequel blockbusters, we go through the history of the Apes franchise.
Beer choice: Polar Monkey
