Dundee United in Europe SPECIAL: The Tangerines are heading to Luxembourg!19 Jun 202500:32:20

It’s a European special of Twa Teams, One Street. Or should that be Twa Teams, Una Strassen?

Dundee United are heading to Luxembourg after a very favourable draw in the Europa Conference League second qualifying round, with home leg coming first on July 24. Where the second leg will be held? That’s one of the topics of discussion.

The guys chew over the challenge posed by UNA Strassen – from a Brazilian goal machine to the son of a Morocco icon – and weigh up whether United are destined to progress from a Euro tie for the first time since 1997.

More generally, what can be expected from Jim Goodwin’s recruitment drive and who do you fancy for the opening day of the Premiership season, with fixtures set to be confirmed on Friday.

Courier Sport’s Dundee United correspondent Alan Temple is in the hot-seat joined by Graeme Finnan and United-daft Alex Marr (‘@SPFLMediawatch’ on Twitter).

Tony Docherty SACKED by Dundee as United book Euro ticket19 May 202501:00:57

Huge breaking news on Monday morning as Dundee wielded the axe on gaffer Tony Docherty.

The decision came less than 24 hours after the Dee secured their Premiership status with a 2-0 victory at St Johnstone, sparking a pitch invasion at McDiarmid Park.

Was it the right call by the Dee? And will Shaun Maloney be the next man in the Dens Park hotseat?

While there was no such drama across the road to begin the week – there was plenty on Saturday.

We toast a wonderful season from Dundee United after their gutsy 2-1 win over Aberdeen secured European football in the maiden campaign back in the Premiership. We lavish praise on Declan Gallagher, discuss the ice-cool Sam Dalby and pay tribute to auxiliary right-back Louis Moult!

There is also chat about how the Tangerines will evolve next season amid the challenge of continental competition.

Sadly, we must also chew over the despicable assault that saw Jack Mackenzie struck by a seat lobbed by an Aberdeen fan. Folding in those scenes in Perth, we ask what’s next for Scottish football’s relationship with supporters?

Dundee reporter George Cran is joined by Dundee United correspondent Alan Temple and presenter Tom Duthie.

Big games, deadline day and Alan’s tomatoes29 Jan 202600:53:37

It’s a big weekend followed by a big Monday.

We get stuck into Dundee United’s home clash with Hearts, their new signings – one for now, one for later – and what might happen before Monday’s deadline.

We also get stuck into Dundee’s trip to St Mirren, their need for new signings and what to expect ahead of deadline day.

Plus Alan gives some tips on horticulture.

Hosting in the studio is Sean Hamilton as he quizzes Alan Temple, George Cran and Graeme Finnan. You can also see us on YouTube at youtube.com/@TheCourierUK/videos

Dundee’s new transfer need as Luke Graham’s price goes up26 Jan 202600:21:22

Only one game to cover this week and the result didn’t go Dundee’s way.

But why does the 3-0 defeat at Rangers not tell the whole story?

We have one week left of the transfer window and Dundee need to do some business – centre-backs are thin on the ground after two key injuries.

So what does that mean for Luke Graham this month?

After a weekend off thanks to Dundee United’s postponement, Alan Temple is hosting alongside Courier Sport’s Dundee FC writer George Cran and ex-Tele Sport editor Graeme Finnan. You can also see us on YouTube at youtube.com/@TheCourierUK/videos

Banners and misery in Motherwell and why Luca is no longer welcome in Edinburgh22 Dec 202500:54:04

It was misery in Motherwell for Dundee.

A dispiriting 1-0 defeat at Fir Park continued the Dark Blues’ terrible away record.

And fans in the stand made their feelings clear about Nelms, Strachan and Pressley.

What does it all mean?

Things were happier at Tannadice after a good week – how are Dundee United feeling about their point against Hibs, though?

Injuries and suspensions are biting as we look ahead to Aberdeen.

This festive edition sees George Cran, Alan Temple and Graeme Finnan have plenty of mince to talk about, though not much of it in actual pies.

Twa Teams, One Street hopes all our listeners have a very Merry Christmas and a belting New Year! You can also see us on YouTube at youtube.com/@TheCourierUK/videos

Inside United’s half-time team talk, venn diagrams and stopping the Motherwell machine18 Dec 202500:48:51

Zac Sapsford’s stunning goal sealed Dundee United’s first victory over Celtic in 11 years.

How did the Tangerines turn it around at half-time?

And can they follow up their big win when Hibs come to town on Saturday?

Dundee have a big game of their own when they visit high-flying Motherwell.

How do they pull off an upset?

Dundee’s lead gone with the wind and which United star is licking his lips for Celtic?15 Dec 202500:53:10

A massive weekend of Premiership football saw a draw for Dundee and a draw for Dundee United.

Neither are over the moon but one is certainly more content than the other with just a point.

We kick off with Dundee and their windswept 2-2 draw at Livingston – what happened in that second half as the Lions roared back from two down?

Could Steven Pressley have done more?

And what was Jim Goodwin’s reaction to the 0-0 draw against Motherwell?

How confident should they be for facing underfire Celtic in midweek?

Plenty to get through on this Monday edition with Alan Temple, George Cran and Graeme Finnan. You can also see us on YouTube at youtube.com/@TheCourierUK/videos

Garza gone for Dundee’s biggest game and unlocking Jekyll and Hyde United11 Dec 202500:48:24

It’s a massive weekend for Dundee and Dundee United.

It’s a battle of the bottom two for the Dee at Livingston – the classic six-pointer.

But there are some injury issues to worry about and what’s the deal with Cesar Garza’s exit?

Plenty at stake for Dundee United, too, when they welcome Motherwell to Tannadice.

Jim Goodwin needs to find a way to get out of a bad run of form – can they upset the Steelmen?

United’s Paisley pain and Dundee’s Dons downer08 Dec 202500:43:11

It’s a cheery pod this Monday with two defeats to discuss.

First up is Dundee United’s disappointment at St Mirren as their poor run of form continues.

What went wrong? And what can they change to put it right?

Then there’s Dundee’s 3-1 defeat at home to Aberdeen.

Steven Pressley says fans should be proud of the display – are they?

Dundee make Celtic sweat as United robbed late on by Rangers04 Dec 202500:52:08

A disciplined and dogged Dundee display at Celtic Park saw Steven Pressley’s side run the Champions close.

Was the Dark Blues’ performance an example of the kind of progress their manager has been highlighting in recent weeks?

And can they find a way to ensure their efforts are rewarded with all-important points?

For United, conceding an equaliser from the penalty spot with the last kick of the match was a heartbreaking way to be denied a win over Rangers.

They led twice thanks to two truly stunning goals, yet two penalty decisions – one denied to them by referee David Dickinson and one given against them at the death – had a major impact on the result.

Chatting it all through in the aftermath are Sean Hamilton, George Cran, Alan Temple and Graeme Finnan. You can also see us on YouTube at youtube.com/@TheCourierUK/videos

Dundee’s dream and United’s reffing nightmare01 Dec 202500:55:29

A welcome Dundee victory thanks to Steven Pressley’s dream about Joe Westley.

Where has this been all season?

What did the Dark Blues change and how did it work? Can they keep this up?

Plus plenty of ref frustration for Dundee United after their 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock.

How did Dave Richards do as Ross Graham and Max Watters return?

There’s a big midweek of action to come, too, with oor Twa Teams taking on either side of the Old Firm.

Chatting away this Monday are George Cran, Alan Temple and Graeme Finnan. You can also see us on YouTube at youtube.com/@TheCourierUK/videos

Pressley pressure and United’s knife-edge27 Nov 202500:56:56

It’s a massive weekend of Premiership football. Huge for both our teams.

The bottom six all play one another including Dundee at home to St Mirren and United away at Kilmarnock.

Can the Dark Blues find a route to goal – and somehow leapfrog the Buddies?

And why sacking Steven Pressley would be the wrong move for the Dee.

What changes till Jim Goodwin make at Rugby Park? Will Kucherenko keep his place?

Back in the studio are host Sean Hamilton, Dundee writer George Cran, United writer Alan Temple alongside Graeme Finnan. You can also see us on YouTube at youtube.com/@TheCourierUK/videos

No goals again for Dundee and no place to hide for Kucherenko at Tannadice24 Nov 202500:33:15

No goals and no points for Dundee and Dundee United this weekend – an exciting Twa Teams awaits!

What is going wrong for Dundee and what can they do to get out of trouble?

And what does Jim Goodwin do with Yevhen Kucherenko after his horror show against Falkirk? Also why laying blame solely at the goalie’s feet is not right.

This cheerful Monday edition – our 400th episode - is hosted by George Cran alongside Graeme Finnan with Alan Temple unfortunately a late call-off. You can also see us on YouTube at youtube.com/@TheCourierUK/videos

United’s Bairns battle and Dundee’s capital clash20 Nov 202500:59:56

Move over Scotland heroes, we’re back to local heroes.

The Premiership returns this weekend and both sides of the street have crucial league clashes.

We start with Dundee United this week and their home game against Falkirk. John McGlynn’s side are two points ahead of the Tangerines in the table – can the Terrors leapfrog the Bairns?

And we find out why Bear isn’t keen on United’s Kazakh target.

Plus, how do Dundee shock third-placed Hibs?

We also have a look back at the Deefiant era for good measure.

Hosting in the studio is Courier Sport editor Sean Hamilton alongside United writer Alan Temple, Dundee writer George Cran and former Tele Sport editor Graeme Finnan. You can also see us on YouTube at youtube.com/@TheCourierUK/videos

Real Housewives and transfer talk22 Jan 202600:53:00

The Premiership is back and there’s plenty to discuss on Twa Teams, One Street.

Dundee United host St Mirren in a crucial clash at Tannadice – will it be a top-six push or mid-table anonymity for Jim Goodwin’s men?

And can Dundee shock title-charging Rangers?

Plus the guys get sidetracked with Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

In the studio alongside host Sean Hamilton are Courier Sport writers Alan Temple and George Cran and ex-Tele Sport editor Graeme Finnan. You can also see us on YouTube at youtube.com/@TheCourierUK/videos

Writer Neil Forsyth lifts lid on his run in with United legend Jim McLean.17 Nov 202500:32:30

Dundee United has been at the heart of a journey which has taken him from Broughty Ferry to Brink’s-Mat and an award-winning television career.

Award-winning screenwriter Neil Forsyth joined Courier journalist Graeme Strachan for a special episode of Twa Teams, One Street to chat all things Dundee United.

The life long Arab – the man behind Bob Servant, Guilt and The Gold – shares his memories of watching the Tangerines, his favourite games, a run-in with Jim McLean and reveals the Tangerine trend which runs through his TV work.

Neil, who grew up in Broughty Ferry, recalls watching iconic matches like the 1987 Uefa Cup victory over Barcelona and the 1994 Scottish Cup win against Rangers.

Possession is passé for United and Dundee’s January wishlist13 Nov 202500:59:13

We look at what to expect on both sides of the street ahead of the January transfer window – as Dundee United are linked with a Kazakh winger.

There is fulsome for Luca Stephenson, the player and the person, as he commits to the Terrors for the rest of the season.

And what have we learned from the Tangerines’ season so far? Are they better than last season? Why are they happy not to have the ball?

At Dens Park, how much did they bank for Josh Mulligan? Probably less than £20 million…

We discuss how the Dee can get the best out of Simon Murray. Is Yan Dhanda the key or is there simply no place for that style of player?

George outlines what Steven Pressley will be working on during the international break and looks ahead to a pivotal January.

How will Dundee’s transfer hierarchy ahead of a window in which the Dee must excel – or face relegation.

Dundee United reporter Alan Temple is joined by Dundee counterpart George Cran and former Evening Telegraph sports editor Graeme Finnan. The Courier head of sport Sean Hamilton is on hosting duties.

Dens Park will see Rangers arrive to face Dundee live on the telly – will it be more of the same from the Dark Blues or can they repeat their Celtic show?

Plenty to get through this week on Twa Teams, One Street as host Sean Hamilton questions Courier Sport writers George Cran and Alan Temple.

Dundee United’s victory over St Mirren was impressive in a new sort of way while Stephen Robinson was not happy with the referee at Tannadice.

Dundee had victory in their hands but threw it away – what happened in that second half?

What happened with Scott Bain? And why is Bear so angry?!

Ogren arrives for United AGM and Pressley ensures reality bites23 Oct 202500:55:24

Mark Ogren is in town for the Dundee United AGM.

From transfers, to tax, to turnover – we analyse what is likely to be on the mind of the U.S. businessman. We discuss how the Tangerines take heartening results and turn them into cold, hard, profit.

On the pitch, the Terrors welcome St Mirren to Tannadice. Can Jim Goodwin mastermind a home win over stubborn opposition; an Achilles heel this term.

Across the road, the afterglow of victory against Celtic is still present in the studio.

However, Steven Pressley is setting standards and delivering a dose of reality ahead of a trip to Falkirk.

We ask how the Dee build on the successes of last weekend and avoid an overreliance on the outstanding Cameron Congreve.

By Pressley’s own admission, with Dundee fielding a less-than-100% fit Simon Murray, what does that say about the Dark Blues’ other strikers?

And there’s an apology from a high-profile presenter…

Dundee United correspondent Alan Temple is joined by ex-Tele Sport editor Graeme Finnan, with The Courier head of sport Sean Hamilton in the hot seat.

Twa Teams, One Street is proud to be supported by SPAR Scotland.

Dundee SMASH Celtic curse and United so close to Rangers raid20 Oct 202500:43:39

We chew over a victory 37 years in the making after Dundee swept Celtic aside 2-0 at Dens Park.

A coaching masterclass by Steven Pressley blunted the champions, while the Dark Blues carried a threat on the break all afternoon.

There’s praise for the likes of Ethan Hamilton, Cameron Congreve and Drey Wright – and, for perhaps the first time on the pod, for VAR.

Is this the springboard the Dee’s campaign needed?

And Dundee were not the only side from the street to give a team from Glasgow a bloody nose, with United agonisingly close to claiming their first league win at Ibrox since April 2011. They played out a 2-2 draw.

How did the Terrors recover from a dismal first half showing to claim a 2-1 lead? A magic moment from Kristijan Trapanovski, Craig Sibbald’s rocket and the impact of Nikolaj Moller are assessed.

Yevhenii Kucherenko’s big saves and Julius Eskesen’s maiden start are spotlighted. Plus, we need to talk about Ivan Dolcek…

Courier Sport reporter Alan Temple is joined by ex-Tele Sport editor Graeme Finnan.

What Dundee United accounts REALLY say and can Dundee banish 37-year Celtic hoodoo?16 Oct 202500:46:38

We’re chatting cash following the release of Dundee United’s annual accounts, with a near-£1m post-tax loss telling only half the story.

Turnover of £10.5 million, record commercial revenues, healthy wage-to-turnover ratio and a £350,000 provision to HMRC over the disputed R&D Tax case are among the major talking points.

Now, how do United take the next step towards bottom-line profitability?

On the pitch, we chew over the upcoming trip to Ibrox. Will Rangers have renewed resolve following the sacking of Russell Martin? Or can United take advantage of remaining fragility?

And the guys discuss what changes Jim Goodwin could make.

Across the road, Dundee are seeking their first victory over Celtic at Dens Park since Tommy Coyne’s winner in 1988.

Will Sunday be that day?

What must improve if the Dark Blues are to stun Brendan Rodgers’ champions? There are certainly selection dilemmas for Steven Pressley – only exacerbated by a couple of injury doubts.

And why a returning Cesar Garza SHOULD be a major boost for Dundee after shining against some global giants on U/20 World Cup duty. But will he get a chance?

Courier Sport reporter Alan Temple is joined by ex-Tele Sport editor Graeme Finnan.

Luke Graham, super subbies and THIS IS SPARTANS19 Jan 202600:57:25

Two cup wins! That’s the way Twa Teams likes it.

First up is Dundee continuing their impressive run with a big performance at Kilmarnock.

Plenty on Luke Graham’s future and why Celtic away is not all bad in the next round.
