Our Tusk Talks podcast explores the life-stories and extraordinary experiences of Africa’s most inspirational conservationists.

This year, a record number of teams competed in the Wildlife Ranger Challenge: a pan African challenge that raises awareness and funds for Wildlife Rangers.

But what exactly does a Wildlife Ranger do, and why is their work so vital at this point in history?

In this series we will be speaking with men and women who have first hand experience of the duties, challenges and wonders of being a Wildlife Ranger in Africa.

Enock Odera Ochieng is the Patrol Program Officer at Mount Kenya Trust, leading the Rangers and overseeing security across Mount Kenya, Imenti Forest and Mount Kenya National Park covering over 27000 km².
