Kyle Fleischmann - Missing /// Part 2 /// 783 Part 2 of 2
This week we feature a case that remains one of Charlotte, North Carolina’s best known unsolved mysteries. 24 year old Kyle Fleischmann was out with friends for a Thursday night celebration. The group ends up at the Buckhead Saloon in the Uptown area. Kyle’s friends start going home in the early morning hours of Friday, November 9, 2007. The cameras at the bar show Kyle walking out alone, coatless on a cold night. There is footage of Kyle walking at 2:20am. After that, everything is speculation. His movements that night are strange. His cellphone activity is unexplained and what happened to Kyle remains a mystery. Anyone with information about Kyle or that late night and early morning is asked to call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line 1-704-334-1600.

The Hammer Man /// Part 2 /// 691 Part 2 of 2
1973 - Seattle, Washington; When 15 year old Katherine Miller did not return home from school, her mother notified the police. The following morning an investigation ensued. Katherine’s disappearance was immediately considered to be suspicious by seasoned detectives. The disappearance reeked of foul play. The detectives were quick to find a suspect and other cases that shared similarities to Katherine's. Was all of this the work of “The Hammer Man?” When one wants to do a thorough historical review of U.S.A. True Crime, there are those stories that must be told. This is one of them.

Aaron Solomon was requesting help because as he told the dispatcher his son’s truck had just backed over his son. His son, 18 year old Grant Solomon was trapped under the vehicle. He was in need of rescuing and medical attention. Grant did not survive. This tragedy was quickly called into question because of allegations made against Aaron Solomon. Amber Spradlin ////// 687 Part 1 of 1 On June 18, 2023 first responders arrived at the scene of a residence on Arkansas Creek in Martin, Kentucky. Martin is a tiny community near Prestonsburg. Later, Kentucky State Police announced that they had found 39 year old Amber Spradlin dead at the scene due to a knife attack. The community is in an uproar as more than one 911 was made before anyone showed up to the scene. Could Amber’s life have possibly been saved that night? Prestonsburg interim Police Chief Ross Shurtleff said the 911 center didn’t receive any calls from Amber Spradlin on June 18. All calls from that day have been forwarded to the Kentucky State Police for their investigation. The Twin Cities Weepy Killer /// Part 2 /// 772 Part 2 of 2
In the early 1980s a deadly man was stalking the women of the Twin Cities. He used different weapons and methods to kill his victims. Often after a kill, the act was followed by a phone call claiming responsibility for the murder. Why were these calls seemingly part of the killer’s M.O.? What purpose did they serve? Was it an act of remorse or just to taunt the protectors of these cities? A man known as the “Weepy Voiced Killer” successfully killed women and left them on the side streets and back alleys of Minneapolis and Saint Paul and he got away with it for two years.

The following day search and rescue teams found the bodies of the two girls, Libby and Abby. It was more than five years later that Richard Allen was arrested and charged with the murders. Recently, previously sealed court documents about the case, the arrest, and evidence were unsealed and released to the public. Due to dozens of requests we have decided to discuss these documents and the details of the information found on those pages this week in the Garage. There are significant details that many have wondered about for over six years now. Finally, more information is now available in a murder investigation that has been previously cloaked in mystery, silence and uncertainty. DeOrr Kunz Jr. /// Part 2 /// 678 Part 2 of 2 In the summer of 2015 a two-year-old went missing from a campground in Lemhi County, Idaho. According to the 911 call DeOrr Kunz Jr. vanished on the morning of day two of a weekend long camping trip. Little to no trace of him at all has ever been found. When the case broke everyone was looking for the little boy. Searchers looked for the little boy for ten straight days using every resource available to them at the time. When the search turned up little to nothing, the parents said little DeOrr had been abducted. The Sheriff’s department said that they have evidence that something else happened. Since then Private Investigators have been hired, fired, donated their time to the case and have been sued by DeOrr’s father. Klein Investigations and Consulting was one of those PI firms to join the case. Heather Kullorn /// Part 2 /// 676 Part 2 of 2 This week we talk about a case that we fear has gone cold. There are good suspects in this case but have all of the possible leads dried up? Back in July of 1999, Heather Kullorn was babysitting an infant overnight. This is odd especially giving the ages. Heather was twelve and the infant was just a little over two months old. Given the ages an overnight babysitting gig does not seem appropriate at all. Heather disappeared in the middle of the night. Blood was found at the scene. The baby thankfully was alive and well when the parents returned home. Police were called and the authorities have been looking for Heather for over twenty years now. We believe the person or persons responsible have likely shared intimate knowledge of the case with someone. If you have any information regarding the disappearance of Heather Kullorn please call the St. Louis Police Department at 314-231-1212. | Brian Shaffer Interview ////// 770 | 02 Jul 2024 | 00:49:21 | |
Brian Shaffer Interview ////// 770 Part 1 of 1
How did Brian Shaffer a 27 year-old man at the time just simply disappear? It's a question Columbus Police detectives and thousands from central Ohio have been asking for more than 18 years. Brian Shaffer, was a medical student at The Ohio State University. As legend has it; he walked into a campus bar and was never seen walking out. Brian vanished after going out with friends on the evening of March 31st, 2006 to celebrate the beginning of spring break. According to friends during the early morning hours of April 1st, Brian was separated from them, and they assumed he had gone home. Shaffer has not been seen or heard from since. Columbus police have several theories about what happened; some suspicion has been directed at a friend. While foul play is suspected, it has also been speculated that Brian might be living somewhere under a new identity. Today we bring to you an interview with Columbus Police Sergent John Hurst who was the lead investigator in the Shaffer case. Conducting the interview is the Captain and investigative journalist Maggie Freleng.

Robert Pickton /// Part 2 /// 769 Part 2 of 2
This week we tell the tale of Robert Pickton, Canada’s most infamous serial killer. Robert Pickton was a pig farmer turned serial killer who hit it big with the sale of a large portion of the family farm. Instead of using his riches for good, he hosted drug and alcohol fueled parties on his disgusting farm at a place called “The Piggie Palace.” Around this same time women started to disappear from a seedy area of Vancouver, known as “The Low Track.” It took the police longer than it should have to learn that they had a problem, a big one. Some mysteries remain with this case. No one is certain how many people Pickton killed. It also would seem like he must have had some help along the way. Who else is responsible?

Screams for Help /// Part 2 /// 656 Part 2 of 2 September 2, 2010 - a 911 call comes in requesting help. When deputies arrive at the scene they find a woman that is unresponsive. The 911 caller is the homeowner, boyfriend of the woman and a deputy as well. He tells his fellow officers that he was outside in the garage when he heard a shot. He says he ran inside and heard a second shot. He tells emergency services and the responding officers that his girlfriend shot herself after the two broke up that night. It was immediately apparent that it was his service gun that was used in the shooting. What is unclear is whose finger pulled the trigger. This began one incredibly questionable investigation.
