Send us a text

Welcome to another exciting interview!
Today, I'm chatting with Kelly from K.R.H Natural horse care. Kelly is a hoof care practitioner and has recently opened up a livery yard in the UK. It's a unique opportunity to gain insight into what it's like to start a brand new livery yard, along with plenty of general "Track Talk."

We dive into everything from fencing and enrichment to the challenges, "mistakes," and future plans Kelly has. This episode offers a bit of everything, and I hope you enjoy listening. I have to say, I absolutely love Kelly's voice!

#7 Interview with Jemima Key15 May 202400:46:40

Send us a text

Jemima is a woman of many interests in the horse world which is amazing to hear about. She trains Brumbies and retrains off the track thoroughbreds, she competes in Eventing and makes use of clicker training where suitable. She has a Track system on 20 of her 180 Acres in Victoria QLD and still utilizes her large paddocks for horses that can be on them safely where she still uses ''Track principals'' on.

I loved talking to her and felt we have very similar views which is great to hear because sometimes it can feel so lonely doing things differently.

*We did let one or two swear words slip here.

Her Facebook page is The Playful pony I love how and what she writes very entertaining and delightful I find :-)

#6 Interview with Cynthia Cooper07 May 202400:47:05

Send us a text

I am not sure if Cynthia Cooper needs introducing to our Aussies ! She is a renowned natural horsemanship trainer and educator and well-respected in the equestrian community for her holistic approach to horses.
She is one of the first, if not THE first person to bring Track Systems to Australia and she now has a hybrid between Equi central and a Track in Tasmania.

Her website is Natural Horse World where you can find her LightRider Bitless Bridle, find helpful articles and blogs as well as sign up to her monthly newsletter which always provides great UpToDate information from the horse world. If you sign up this month, you'll see me pop up with a discount code for my track booklet. You'll also get free access to her amazing natural horse care guide, which comes highly recommended.

This episode is packed with knowledge and information, and I wish I would have been more experienced to get more out of Cynthia, she would be an amazing guest at a more general Horse podcast !!HINT!!!

In saying that, we are covering so much! From Foals to Stallions and herd life over hay and grass (Safergrass.org and balancedequine.com.au )self-trimming and more! An episode not to be missed!
Thanks for listening

#5 Interview with Emma Palmer30 Apr 202400:48:58

Send us a text

This episode I'm chatting with Emma from Mataranka (writing this I realize now I've pronounced it wrong) , Northern Territory, Australia. Her Track on about 6 acres and will soon have 6 horses on it.
Emma is a barefoot trimmer who started her track journey in England and built her second track in Australia. If you want to get in contact with her, I can help you until her business page is up and running (which will be linked here)
Please contact me on Hello@activehorseagistmentplus.com

Her beautiful horse is on the cover of PB Paddock Paradise Livery's latest issue of Happy Trackin' Magazine. I think it is so awesome that she has the connection to a very popular and experienced Paddock Paradise set up and can draw on that for her own Track.  There are some great nuggets of her experience shared in this conversation that has certainly given me something new to implement and think about.

#4 Common assumptions and misconceptions about Track Systems 26 Apr 202400:28:26

Send us a text

Welcome to another solo episode! Excuse the Mare and Baby interruptions, you know mama (me) is trying to multitask- introducing a new herd member and entertaining a baby who woke up too early from her nap while trying to help horses.

In this episode I cover Common assumptions and misconceptions about Track Systems which are:

  • Space for your track
  • Tracks are no good for skinny horses.
  • Horse should be constantly moving on tracks.
  • Tracks are hard to set up and to manage.
  • Tracks trash your land.
  • Tracks are boring and all the same.

Send us a text

In this episode, I'm chatting with Nensi about HIT Active Stables. These are similar to Track systems and Paddock Paradise but have a key difference: Specific footing and automatic feeding machines and gates, which reduce human interference. Nensi shares her insights on the benefits of these setups, drawing from her experience and role as a representative for HIT. This is valuable information worth considering.

#13 Solo episode (Mild) Winter horse care on Track 02 Jul 202400:22:08

Send us a text

Welcome to another solo episode of Track Talk! Today, my monologue focuses on horse care during our mild winter on the Sunshine Coast, Australia.
Each year, I observe things that people do for their horses out of love but which can actually be quite detrimental and achieve the opposite of their intentions.
I'm glad to have this podcast as an outlet to share these thoughts, haha! If anybody listens or not.
Please excuse the less-than-ideal audio quality due to different recording circumstances, but I hope the information remains useful.

Love, Toma

#12 Interview with Ivory Rose18 Jun 202400:50:38

Send us a text

This weeks guest is Ivory Rose from Western Rose Equine.
She is a HCP in the USA, Texas where she specializes in metabolic therapy with the use of non-invasive methods to create successful barefoot horses with a focus on: Diet/nutrition, movement and bodywork.

We are chatting about how to use Track principals, without actually putting up fencing and creating a 'proper' Track system. It's a great one for people wanting to keep it really simple and don't want to spend any money while still being able to better and enrich their horse's life.
We also cover great things like how Tracks and learning relates to each other and
why and how exactly the track (or Track principals) benefits the horses physically so much.

We also mention weeds, water buffets, small acreage and so much more!

Thanks for tuning in :-)

#11 Interview with Josepha Guillaume11 Jun 202400:54:17

Send us a text

Welcome to another exciting episode of my podcast! Today, I have an incredible guest joining me all the way from Belgium. Josepha Guillaume is the author of the book "Dressage in Hand" and a pioneer in bitless dressage and so much more (you'll have to listen).
It's truly an honor to gain insights from such a professional dressage trainer and rider.

In this episode, we explore a variety of fascinating topics. Josepha shares an inspiring story about integrating a horse, previously deemed dangerous and impossible to have in a herd due to past trauma, successfully into a herd using the track system.

We also talk about:

-Barefoot horse life
-Common equine health issues
-Preconceived ideas
-Paddock paradise on small acreage
and much much more!!

I think this conversation is particularly valuable for competitive riders who think they can't have competition horses on a track system.
I thoroughly enjoyed this discussion and believe it will resonate with many of you.

You can find Josepha on facebook and Instagram.

Find Josepha's store here:

Find info on her online coaching here:

#18 Solo episode Human vs Horses benefits 10 Sep 202400:29:13

Send us a text

In this episode, I try to tackle a thought provoking question: *Have you ever considered how we prioritize human benefits over our horses'?* I talk about the common choices many horse owners make—often investing in facilities like arenas or stylish tack that enhance our enjoyment, while overlooking what truly benefits the horse, such as herd life and enriching living environments. It’s a monologue about shifting our priorities from human enjoyment to equine welfare.

Please, please let me know what you think about this episode, it truly sounded better in my head and plans than it does, now that it's out, or is this me being too critical?

Welcome to my 20th episode !
I'm talking to Nadine and Nathan Marshall from Innate Equine again.  Nadine is a Naturopath, and Nathan is an equine Podiotherapist and they are located at East Gippsland, Victoria (Australia).

In this episode we are focusing on Laminitis rehab and how Innate equine approaches rehabilitation from a worst case scenario (penetration of the pedal bone). It is important to mention this absolutely requires professional expertise. But I want these examples out there, so people can hear that there are other methods out there now to rehab bad cases more naturally and permanently.

We cover:

✔ What navicular really means
