6 weeks ago I interviewed Fred's wife, Jamie Birkett, who shared her side of the story and now Fred talks about what it was like to go through as a first time father.


As revealed in Jamie's episode, me and Fred both shared the same phenomenal consultant whilst at Great Ormond Street, as he and I share our experiences and thoughts of the wonderful Mr Ed Kiely.

Hirschsprung's nurse specialist Karen, talks about her decade plus experience as a nurse, specialising in Hirschsprung's disease.


Coming from a family of teachers Karen always knew that she wanted to be in a career helping people, thus leading to the seamless transition into nursing.


Later on Karen explains the 3 different types of pull-through surgery that all HD patients will have in order to remove the diseased part of the bowel.
