This is because humans are social animals and cannot live alone. Without moral principles, it is impossible to organize a society, and as a result, we must develop some form of moral standards. This episode discusses the use of humour as a theory of change with our guest Christian Obi, popularly known as Igbo Wolf. Humour has been used throughout history as a tool for subversive communication, such as the court jester who was the only person allowed to make fun of people in power. Christian, a comedian, shares how he used humour as a coping mechanism for his social awkwardness and anxiety. He found that watching comedies repeatedly helped him deal with his anxiety, and eventually, he started creating his own content to help him cope. After his content gained popularity, he struggled with the idea of continuing to create content that originated from his mental struggles. However, he realized that humour can be used to raise awareness of mental health and to help others who may be going through similar struggles. Candidly, we see that humour can be a powerful tool for change and can be used to address social and political issues. ​

We discuss the example of Nigeria, where even the direst situations are made comedic in nature, but people still recognize the seriousness of the situation. Where could the line be drawn when it comes to what can be made fun of and what cannot, and how do we find that line? As a content creator, Ajibola Grey explains that there is a need to consider the potential impact of jokes and the responsibility that comes with creating content that people will engage with. He also mentions the importance of being open to feedback and accepting when jokes may have crossed the line. This thought-provoking episode explores the concept of "Equality as a Theory of Change." Are culture and religion the root causes of women's marginalization? Our guest, Ms Adewuyi Roseline, sheds light on essential distinctions, such as the difference between gender equality and gender equity. She highlights that to overcome these barriers there is the need for increased education and inclusivity.​

At this point we were reminded that perhaps there is no fix all for Nigeria's problems, but we still posed our theories. 

What does it mean to be a patriot? How can we be active citizens? The answers are more complex for situations in which citizenship might imply an active participation in a flawed and tyrannical political system.

We realise that the current model of development does not work because it has not developed with the African's best interest in mind, at least not defined by an African. Still, we have to ask ourselves, what are the alternatives? Do they exist? Or must we create them ourselves, and how?
