| Being a Vegan and a Competitive Body Builder with Giacomo Marchese | 30 May 2022 | 00:28:18 | |
Lisa is joined by Giacomo Marchese, who talks about being a vegan and a competitive body builder.
Plantbuilt: A Decade of Compassionate Strength
In 2012 Giacomo Marchese and Dani Taylor championed the idea of forming a team of vegan bodybuilders to compete along side non-vegan competitors with the goal of showing that not only could the vegan athletes compete, they could win. They reached out to friends in the community to gauge their interest in participating and the first Plantbuilt team was formed. The team traveled to Austin, Texas to participate in the Naturally Fit Games- a multi sport expo, and dominated the bodybuilding stage. Since then Plantbuilt has competed two more times broadening our base of athletes to include more strength based sports and every time successfully spreads the message of cruelty free strength. 2022 will be the fourth time the team sets out to change hearts and minds, with some familar faces and some new additions to the family. Help us celebrate our 10th year of activism and keep checking in for updates about the team and the competition.
PLANTBUILT
Powered by VEGAN STRONG

| The Healing Power of Mindfulness | 07 Apr 2020 | 00:13:31 | |
Discover how mindfulness can help you with healing.
More than 20 years ago, Jon Kabat-Zinn showed us the value of cultivating greater awareness in everyday life with his now-classic introduction to mindfulness, Wherever You Go, There You Are. Now, in The Healing Power of Mindfulness, he shares a cornucopia of specific examples as to how the cultivation of mindfulness can reshape your relationship with your own body and mind - explaining what we're learning about neuroplasticity and the brain, how meditation can affect our biology and our health, and what mindfulness can teach us about coming to terms with all sorts of life challenges, including our own mortality, so we can make the most of the moments we have.
Originally published in 2005 as part of a larger book titled Coming to Our Senses, The Healing Power of Mindfulness features a new foreword by the author and timely updates throughout the text. If you are interested in learning more about how mindfulness as a way of being can help us to heal, physically and emotionally, look no further than this deeply personal and also "deeply optimistic book, grounded in good science and filled with practical recommendations for moving in the right direction" (Andrew Weil, MD), from one of the pioneers of the worldwide mindfulness movement.
| Tales from a Naturalist in Costa Rica | 31 Mar 2020 | 00:25:59 | |
Evelio's Garden is a lyrical meditation on cultural values, friendship, aging, loss, and, ultimately, the healing power of the natural world.
In the enchanting world of the of Costa Rican highlands, the author begins a memoir, tracing the seasons and closely observing the natural riches around her. But Evelio, who helped build their house, interrupts with an idea to plant an organic garden on their property. Over the course of a challenging year full of unpredictable weather, wild animals and toxic chemicals, their friendship grows as Evelio teaches her about the rural sustainability of Costa Rica in decades past. Pulling her into the daily ups and downs of his project, he creates an often funny, always frustrating, and ultimately rewarding counterpoint to her own work, such that the two intertwine on the page...and lead her to confront a difficult past and open up to profound personal change.

Revaree is a non-hormonal easy-to-use vaginal insert that provides relief from vaginal dryness so that you can feel comfortable during intimacy. evaree is made of hyaluronic acid, a molecule that is naturally produced throughout the body and plays a significant role in cell hydration and healing. In the case of vaginal dryness, Revaree works by attracting and retaining moisture in the vaginal lining, creating a healing environment that repairs and restores thinning and damaged tissue for lasting, hormone-free relief.
Relizen is a carefully formulated, hormone-free supplement made with pure, plant-based ingredients, so you can get incredibly effective and safe relief from hot flashes and night sweats.Rather than going through the hormonal pathways in your body like other menopausal supplements do, Relizen works like an internal thermostat to give your body back its natural ability to regulate its temperature, without hormonal side effects.

Book Description: The Immunotype Breakthrough: Your Personalized Plan to Balance Your Immune System, Optimize Health, and Build Lifelong Resilience
A respected immunologist, allergist, and functional medicine doctor breaks down the latest science on immunity, offering “the most important guide available” (Mark Hyman, MD) to balancing your system for optimal health and longevity.
To most of us, the immune system is seemingly unknowable—it's an invisible, complex network of cells, receptors, and messengers, and there's no standard way to see if it's functioning as it should. Yet in spite of this, it affects every aspect of our health, influencing (and sometimes even causing) nearly every disease known to humanity. Much has been made about “boosting” immunity, but what exactly does that mean, and what if boosting isn't really what your unique system needs?
In The Immunotype Breakthrough, Dr. Heather Moday explains that for most, immune system balance is key. Drawing on a wealth of cutting edge research and fascinating case studies, Dr. Moday explains that the immune system is fluid and significantly influenced by our behaviors, diet, habits, and environment. She identifies four primary Immunotypes—Smoldering, Weak, Hyperactive, and Misguided—that underlie the immune imbalances that commonly lead to disease, chronic inflammation, infection, allergies, and autoimmunity. By identifying your personal immunotype—where you fall on this immunity spectrum—you can intervene by making focused, individualized, natural lifestyle changes to ensure it functions optimally
Featuring engaging and accessible science, practical and customizable takeaways, and interactive quizzes to help you zero in on your specific needs, The Immunotype Breakthrough is a revolutionary program for creating an individualized lifestyle and diet that will lead to immune resilience, vitality, and longevity.

| Encore Episode: Myofascial Release Physical Therapy to Address Pain | 17 Jul 2018 | 00:28:00 | |
Could myofascial release treatment (MFR) be the answer to your chronic pain? When we encounter traumatic or dangerous events, we either stay and fight or we run to save our lives as a defense mechanism. Most people are familiar with this fight/flight response. However, there is a third option called the ‘freeze’ response. When we freeze, the emotional and physical components of the traumatic event are stored on a cellular level. During a myofascial release treatment (MFR) it is not uncommon for these emotions, events and memories to come to the surface and be released allowing people to understand why they have certain physical or behavioral patterns in life. This, in turn, allows for closure to the traumatic experience. Teami Tea brings you the highest quality, most effective, all-natural loose leaf teas right to your doorstep. Remove toxins from your body that may be slowing you down.
