New Year's Day Intention - Set Yourself Up for Success in 2025 EP13623 Dec 202400:10:54

Podsters, it’s Christmas week, so happy holidays, happy new year, happy whatever you celebrate! With New Years Day right around the corner, I want to talk about how you’re bringing in the new year, specifically what you’re doing on January 1st.

Last year, I threw a big New Year’s Day party, and this whole year ended up being way more non-stop than I wanted. So this time, I’m switching it up: I signed up for a two-hour yoga workshop on January 1st. I kept resisting it, fearing something else might come along, but I decided to commit. For me, it’s about choosing ease over constant action, so I can head into 2025 with more balance.

Maybe you want to host a brunch, run a 5K, or just relax on the couch. Whatever it is, I’m suggesting you think about how your New Year’s Day plans could set the tone for the entire year. Let’s be intentional about it. Make sure you do something that aligns with the vibe you want for 2025.

That’s my wish for you, Podsters.

12 WAYS TO THRIVE in 2025, Define Success and Live Your Best Life EP13518 Dec 202400:38:11

Hey Podsters – You’ve heard of the 12 days of Christmas, but what about 12 WAYS TO THRIVE in 2025?

You’re ready for YOUR version of success. Here’s the truth: success looks different at every stage of life. What fired you up in your 20s might not cut it now. And let’s be real; titles, money, or relationships alone will never feel like “enough.”

So, let’s break it down and figure out how to make sure you THRIVE in ’25 -  and how you’ll really know when you’ve made it.

  1. Define Success, Your Way Stop measuring success with other people’s rulers. Ask yourself: What does success look like for you right now?

  2. Build a Solid Support Crew You need real, strategic support—people who challenge you, guide you, and help you hit those big goals.

  3. Vision Board? Try a Vision Sketch Grab paper and sketch out your dream life—down to the details. Bonus: Send me your sketches!

  4. Write It Down Thinking isn’t enough. Write down what success looks like and repeat it daily.

  5. Ditch What Drains YouJoy isn’t hiding in your endless to-do list. Tackle the tasks, set up systems, and remove what doesn’t serve you.

  6. Check-In Rituals Accountability is key. Find a partner or coach to track progress and celebrate wins—no self-judgment allowed.

  7. Upgrade Your Inner Circle Surround yourself with people who challenge, inspire, and align with your vision. Energy matters.

  8. Know Your Values Your values are your North Star. Get clear, write them down, and live them.

  9. Cut the Toxic Ties You can’t thrive with toxic people in your life. Make the hard choices.

  10. Create a Joy List Schedule joy like you schedule work. Prioritize what makes you happy.

  11. Forgive (And Let Go)
Forgiveness is for YOU. Release the energy they take but stay in control of who stays in your life.

  12. Grow Your Network Find people who inspire you to level up, challenge you, and align with your values.

Time to make it happen, Podsters.  Your best life is waiting, and it won’t create itself!

From People-Pleaser to Power Player: Addressing Bad Behavior at Work EP12616 Oct 202400:32:26

Podsters, today we’re talking about the perils of being "overly agreeable" (a.k.a. people-pleasing) in leadership.

We've all been there, right? That moment when you nod along in a meeting, even when your gut is screaming, "Seriously?!" It’s called being "overly agreeable" (a nicer way to say people-pleasing), and while it sounds harmless, it’s about as useful as a screen door on a submarine when it comes to stepping up as a leader. And this applies to everyone Podsters, whether you're running the show, climbing the ladder, or running your own business; bending over backward to keep everyone happy can cause more chaos than it cures.

Spoiler alert: it's not your job to be everyone's emotional support person.

So, what's a recovering people-pleaser to do? Here are three ways to kick the overly agreeable habit to the curb:

  1. Keep It Real: Be Authentically You, Even When It’s Uncomfortable
Know who you are and the kind of leader you want to be—then stick to it like glitter on a craft project. Someone on your team sending late-night emails like they're auditioning for a role in "Burnout: The Musical"? That doesn't mean you need to chime in at 2 AM. You get to set the tone for your team and you don’t have to let someone else's chaos become your status quo.

  2. Business Isn't Personal (Unless We're Talking Coffee Choices)
Of course, you want a happy team - we all do! So let’s make sure you don’t let your quest for workplace harmony turn into a free pass for bad behavior. One of my clients made the mistake of being overly agreeable with a drama-inducing employee, which basically made the workplace a soap opera. The result? Delays, disarray, and a whole lot of "Why does this keep happening?" IT IS YOUR JOB to address the bad behavior, set clear expectations and then hold people accountable.

  3. Rip the Band-Aid Off: Address Issues Before They Get Weird
Yes, those tough conversations are about as fun as a root canal, but avoiding them is like letting a leak drip until you're knee-deep in water. One of my clients learned this the hard way by avoiding a tricky employee. She was worried that calling out the behavior wouldn’t seem "respectful." The result? She lost credibility and contributed to the chaos on her team. Respect isn't about making everyone feel warm and fuzzy—sometimes it's about having the confidence to say, "This isn't working, and we need to fix it."

At the end of the day, leadership isn't about making everyone like you. It’s about creating a space where the work, and your team can thrive!

Engineer the life you LOVE!14 Feb 202300:29:45

In this special edition love letter to our podsters, we get intentional about our future. How do you know how to get there if you don’t know where you’re going?

Often times when we see someone we admire, or someone we think has the life we want, we underestimate or don’t truly understand everything they did to get there. There are tradeoffs, behavior changes, and planning – lots and lots of planning to arrive at that dream life.

Get ready to do the work, let go of the resistance, shut down the limiting beliefs and become intentional as you visualize your future.  Nancy's interactive visioning exercise helps you get crystal clear on this future you that you speak of.   What you are doing.  Who you are with.  Your thoughts, feelings and values as you look future forward.

See it, then you believe it, then you will live it.

Who’s ready?

Bullies - we know them, we see them, we hear them. What we DO with them can make all the difference in our lives. 07 Feb 202300:44:08

How we are treated, what we are told, and how we are made to feel both as kids and as grownups have an incredible impact on our confidence, our self-worth, our beliefs and our outcomes.

All of us have experienced some form of bullying and in this episode, we share our own personal and painful stories about the who, why, where and how bullies show up in our life.

There is nothing that feels good about being bullied, and the only one who can make it stop is you – with tools, language and our favorite…boundaries!

Once it stops you then have a choice. You can internalize, believe and become what they say or you can prove them wrong and use those feelings to fuel you.

We’re betting on YOU.

Confident Conversations24 Jan 202300:35:24

Would you go to a surgeon with a 20% success rate?

No, of course not. The same goes for your dentist, mechanic, and really any time you depend on a product or service. In essence, you want to know that the task at hand will end with success.

Why then, are you leaving your most critical conversations to chance? Or even worse, adapting an approach that is 80% likely to fail?

Your likelihood of success is only 20% when you approach a communication or negotiation without confidence. Restated – this means that you are only 20% likely to achieve your desired outcome when you communicate without confidence.

We all know that Confidence. Impacts. Outcomes.  Performance reviews, job offers, selling your product or service – you MUST be confident in order to succeed and here we discuss HOW MUCH your lack of confidence is costing you, your team and your organization.

Know your value. “Discuss” rather than “ask” and turn a difficult conversation into a constructive one with the strategies and tactics we discuss today.

Success Mapping17 Jan 202300:27:24

It's 2023! So, what do you want? What's your MORE? Get clear on what these mean TO YOU and what you will do to go get it.

Your wants are not dreaming so let's call them what they are – VISIONS. Dreams can end up driving self-sabotage - things that maybe you'll have someday if you win the lottery. As in...not likely. Remember - words matter.

We encourage action instead of passive thoughts.

When you act AS IF, you behave AS I, you believe AS IF and that's where the magic happens.

Mel Robbins talks about this as well -  and you know we love our Mel.

What steps are you actually taking to move toward that vision?

Meditation, praying, and journaling are all good, when combined with ACTUAL STEPS to get you closer to your vision.

Claim your vision by saying it out loud, saying it "as if" (because it's only a matter of time), committing to a date, and being specific.

As always, we want to hear your thoughts. Do you have another successful way to achieve your visions? Share it with us and we'll share it with our listeners!

You can leave us a message by on our podcast website or hit us up on the socials!

The Happiness Curve - The older you are the happier you are....no, really.16 Jan 202300:26:03

In this episode we discuss the happiness curve which is...wait for it....a U-SHAPED curve.  This means that the older you get, the happier you become.  Yes, science has proven this.  Yes this is for women, men, cross-cultures, income levels, job roles, everything.

So if you're feeling dismissed because of your age and wondering if you're crazy,  know this:  not only are not not crazy, you are in fact more knowledgeable, happier and more at peace than those dismissive knuckleheads!

Feeling like you'll never have all the answers and looking for a mentor?  Those of us who are at the peak of the happiness curve have the knowledge and experience that our younger counterparts have yet to develop. AND... also scientifically proven: the more we share our "critical knowledge" (aka wisdom), the bigger the curve.  Making strategic decisions and solid choices Is not a game of speed but a game of wisdom.

Word Up! Choosing your WORD for 2023!03 Jan 202300:27:31

Let's face it - resolutions don't work. Here’s your permission to simplify and choose ONE word (or three, or twelve!) as your True North for the coming year.

One word which personifies who you want to be, how you want to show up, and how you want to LIVE in the coming year.

This one word (or a few words if you prefer) will be your filter throughout the year. How/where and when you direct your precious energy and the gatekeeper for what gets your attention and what does not.

Here we share previously chosen words, words that didn’t work for us, and how we use this practice to curate the lives we want to live.

The Feedback Formula: Grow, Glow, and Let the Rest Go EP12509 Oct 202400:21:48

Hey, Podsters! Have you heard the expression, “Feedback is a gift”? Sure, sometimes feedback shows up at our door as a beautifully wrapped present, but other times... It's more like an unsolicited mystery package that leaves you scratching your head about the sender.

People love to give feedback—partners, clients, bosses, even random strangers. And while a lot of it is super helpful, let’s be real: not all feedback comes from a place of positive intent. So, how do you figure out which advice to embrace and which to toss straight into the metaphorical trash?

Today, we’re unpacking how to process feedback without letting it impact your mental health. The key? Understand where the feedback is coming from. First, assess the other person’s values, intent, and perspective. Are they offering insights to support your growth? Or are they projecting their stuff onto you? Because heads up, not all feedback is about you.

I’ll share some personal stories today—including one from my early leadership days that seriously shifted my career trajectory. Spoiler alert: I wasn’t always comfortable with not knowing all the answers, but one piece of advice helped me embrace the leader I am today.

It’s not about growing thicker skin. Nope. It’s about learning how to process feedback without giving it too much headspace. You’ve got to filter feedback as data points—some are valuable, and others are not so much.

So buckle up, Podsters! Let’s dive into how you can use feedback like a boss, stay true to yourself, and grow into the best version of yourself—without letting the noise slow you down.

Friendships22 Dec 202200:36:19

This episode is dedicated to friendships.  As we wind down this year and look towards our future selves, how do our friends fit into our lives?

Friends are your support, your community. Good friends root for you and lift you up. They also give it to you straight. The best friendships take work and patience to continue to grow.

What do you do when a friendship is no longer serving you?  Maybe the relationship is awkward because you've gone in different directions, maybe there's a pink elephant in the room and you haven't addressed it.  Or, don't want to give it your energy.

Re-evaluating and releasing a friendship is complicated - do you have a conversation, ghost them completely? Or simply do the sloooow fade.

And what happens when jealousy clouds a friendship? A little envy is okay, but coveting your friend's life or happiness is a problem.

Feeling dread when you see the call coming in, also not OK.

Listen in as two friends who bring their own stories, thoughts and anecdotes get real about how to be a true friend.  And when to walk away when someone you thought was your friend isn't.

And if you have another friendship question, send it to us!

High 5's, Fist Pumps and Boo Yahs...it's time to CELEBRATE!20 Dec 202200:30:16

Can we get a woot wooooot???!!

If you're here and you're listening, you've got something to celebrate as we close out 2022 and here we talk about how we can and should be celebrating more!

When we act like ninja warriors - jumping from one challenge to the next without stopping to pat ourselves on the back, we don't stop to acknowledge our accomplishments. This means we forget about the many milestones and micro-wins throughout the year.

By not stopping to enjoy the achievement, we are setting ourselves up for burnout and in fact, slowing down our productivity. Fun fact - productivity increases more from positive emotion that it does from discipline.

So, let's celebrate! Maybe you get yourself a Starbucks, a facial, or a new pair of Jimmy Choos for a more substantial win. You get to choose!

So, get your calendar and your pom poms and take a stroll down memory lane for 2022. Reflect on the amazing things you did to make 2022 a successful year.

And if you're feeling it - let the world know!  #unmuteyourselfwins

Figure out what lights you up then use it to set your career on fire!13 Dec 202200:28:25

It’s time to listen to your inner voice, that nagging feeling that you are meant for more. You deserve to do what you love to do and only what you love to do and get paid highly for doing it.

You’ve worked very hard your whole life and now you get to do what's best for you. This can mean a career change, leaving the job where you're phoning it in, or narrowing down your ideal client so that you are working only with people who light you up. But how?

This episode walks you through the three steps you can take RIGHT NOW to get you closer to the "more" you are looking for at work.

Just because you’re good at it doesn’t mean you love to do it and here we overcome barriers understand your resistance.

Why? Because authenticity and vulnerability will always lead to breakthroughs as you go from stuck in that rut to shooting a cannonball through your career to bust you out on the other side.

MONEY: WHY WE GET SO TWISTED ABOUT IT06 Dec 202200:32:40

Who doesn't have money issues?!  Maybe you grew up without it, or maybe you grew up surrounded by it. You lived with scrimpers or perhaps you lived with spenders.  Either way, how you view money today is tied back to how you were raised.

Did your hard-working parent remind you constantly to be grateful for what you had that they provided for you after walking uphill in the snow both ways in bare feet?  Did your parent shower you with gifts to over compensate for something else that they were not able to provide?  Whatever the case, make no mistake...we ALL have some kind of hang up about money.

In this episode, we offer some tips on finding a happy medium and getting more comfortable with conversations around money.

GOOD MEN: MAY WE KNOW THEM, MAY WE SUPPORT THEM29 Nov 202200:30:29

Women have been banding together for decades.  To offer support, to voice their complaints, demand respect, and broadcast their message - women deserve to be equal!  But what about the men?

So often our focus is on women, and men also deal with fear and insecurity, struggle with Imposter Experience, and yes - men get harassed, too.

Men are raised to "take it like a man", "buck up", "just ignore the pain" so they squelch their emotions and push through with courage and determination. As a result, they walk around with all that baggage because they can't speak up or rely on their hive the way women do.

November is men's health month, so in this episode we offer some powerful ways to support the good men in your life.

THANKSGIVING BOUNDARY BONANZA!15 Nov 202200:31:03

Whoa boy!  Nothing gets your heart rate going like a good ol' round of Thanksgiving dysfunction!

Thanksgiving is both of our favorite holidays due in large part to our love of boundaries. And food.

What's the best way to ensure Aunt Mary doesn't knock a bottle of pinot and slide off her chair into the sweet potato mousse? Easy - ask her not to.

Boundaries can be easy OR difficult, even for the most practiced in this skill. In this episode, we talk about why boundaries can feel scary and how it can get even more charged depending on who you set them with and how they respond.

Take some notes on How, When, and WHY setting boundaries are the best way to communicate in your relationships.

Plus an impromptu role play (which of course Beth nails).

Why NOT You? Your Limiting Beliefs Could Be Holding You Back25 Oct 202200:31:57

Woo Woo versus science!  It is scientifically proven that your beliefs impact your outcomes.  And we mean TRULY believing that you can, will, and deserve to live the best life for you.

Doubtful? Think about your favorite celebrity or success story and use that person as proof.  What makes them so different than you?  Nothing.  They believed.

Believing will recalibrate your own confirmation bias and you will then find facts, data, and PEOPLE to support this belief which gets you closer to that desired outcome.

So, instead of telling yourself that you'll never: get that job, meet that partner, make that money, or take that trip try this - Ask yourself: "Why Not me?"

The more you ask this one question, the closer you'll get to the things you really want.

Choose Tour Tribe - and Choose Wisely18 Oct 202200:27:33

"Tribe", "Ride or Die", "Posse", "Business Besties".  It's no surprise there are numerous quotes related to this topic:

Surround yourself only with people who are going to lift you higher - Oprah

You will move in the direction of people you associate with - Warren Buffet

We all have them, we all need them - but are we thoughtful and intentional in who we surround ourselves with?  In this episode, we get down to the nitty gritty - the difference between a tribe and a board of directors, when to know it's time to leave a group, who you can rely on for what, and what purpose each will serve in your life.

Acting 'As If' Can Change Everything in Your Life, Business, and Career EP12402 Oct 202400:25:49

Hey there, Podsters! Quick question for you: If doctors, pro athletes, and scientists use visualization to transform health, boost performance, and hit major goals, why aren’t we doing the same for our own lives? It's time to change that, Podsters and that’s exactly what we are going to do today.

Today, we’re talking about the magic of acting as if you've already achieved your goals. That’s right - and this isn’t just woo-woo —it’s backed by science. Whether it’s performance coaches with athletes or doctors guiding patients to better health, the data’s clear: When you act like you’re already living the life of your dreams, your subconscious gets on board and starts making moves in that direction.

So, how do you do it? First, get crystal clear on your goals. Don’t just say, “I want a better career” or “I want to be healthier.” Nope - we’re talking specific details here. Visualize what your day-to-day life looks like when you’ve hit that goal. What are you wearing? Who are you talking to? How are you feeling? Get all up in those details, and watch your brain start rewiring itself for success.

Why does this work? Simple: confirmation bias. When you start acting as if you’ve already got the job, the lifestyle, the whatever it is you’re after, your brain begins pulling in people, situations, and opportunities that match that belief. You stop waiting for life to happen and start living like it already has. Sounds like magic, but it's science.

Let’s say you’re switching careers. The moment you start “acting as if,” you’ll find yourself networking with new people, stumbling on the right job posts, and suddenly, that “impossible” leap doesn’t seem so far-fetched. The same goes for health, relationships, finances—you name it. Visualize, act as if, and your reality will start shifting to match.

So buckle up, Podsters, because today we’re diving into the game-changing mindset shift that turns “someday” into today. Get ready to stop dreaming and start doing by tapping into the power of ‘acting as if.’

Let’s do this!

Own the Room: 3 Public Speaking Tips to Make ‘Em Remember You EP12325 Sep 202400:26:46

Hey Podsters! Ready to level up your public speaking game? Whether it's the boardroom, a client presentation, or even a networking event, owning the room can make all the difference for you personally and professionally.

Today, we’re talking about how to leave a lasting impact—not just with what you say, but with how you make people feel.

Here are three game-changing tips to help you do just that.

  1. Know the Room
I know, sounds basic, right? But this little detail is everything. Knowing the physical space can turn a good presentation into an unforgettable one. Check out the venue online ahead of time. Is it full of windows? You might need darker slides. Is the AV setup tricky? Get there early, do a sound check, and get familiar with where people will be sitting. Trust me, even something as small as a room layout change can throw you off your game if you’re not prepared. Pro tip: Let people know what to expect. If the room’s cold, remind folks to bring a sweater. Far from the elevator? Tell ‘em to wear comfy shoes. These small touches matter more than you think!

  2. Connect with the Room
And by "the room," I mean the people in it. Send out a quick questionnaire before the event—find out who they are, what they care about, or the kind of jargon they use. When you step on stage, start with a story. Whether it's a travel mishap, a funny experience, or something current, stories break the ice and make you memorable. People don’t remember bullet points—they remember feelings. So, make them feel connected from the jump.

  3. Engage with the Room
Interaction is key. Ask questions like, "How many of you have heard of this concept?" Raise your hand, nod—do something that gets people involved. If you see them drifting or scrolling through their phones, reel them back in with a phrase like, "I know we’re all busy, but what I’m about to say is really important." And if all else fails? Mix it up! Have them chat in groups or do something interactive. Keeping people engaged will make sure you—and your presentation—are unforgettable.

So next time you step up to present, remember: Know the room. Connect with the room. Engage with the room.

These tips are tried and true, and I promise they’ll help you own any stage.

Until next time, go out there and own that room, Podsters!

"Who is home watching the kids?"  "How do you manage work and your family?" "How do women HAVE IT ALL?"  The short answer is.... we can't.  We don't have as many hours in the day as Beyonce so we have to protect our time, our mental health and our spirit by establishing clear and kind boundaries.  In this episode we talk about boundaries at work, at home, overt and more subtle and the lasting peace, flexibility and much needed head space that comes from establishing what you will and will not do at work.  Then having the grace to honor your choices.

And she’s back again today Podsters giving us allllll the tips and practical advice so we can shore up our energy as we head into our busy fall lives.

Brenda is a subconscious mindset coach and energy mentor who helps women break through to the next level in business and in life; and today we are talking all things energy. How to get find, harness and protect your precious energy and in particular - how to identify and stop your energy leaks. This is a crucial topic as we move into fall and the holidays because I know you know Podsters - very soon our energy will start to drain as we manage competing priorities, the holiday season, all of it.

Today, we share what creates energy leaks, such as people-pleasing, repeating patterns of behavior that don’t serve us, and having weak or no boundaries. Whether overt or covert, these behaviors can drain your energy, impact your life, and lead to the dreaded burnout.

Not to mention holding on to past regrets, resentments, and unresolved issues, which also consume mental and emotional energy.

We are also sharing one of my favorites all time Brenda nuggets for how to manage our energy – observe, don’t absorb.  Yes, it’s that simple and we dig deeper into how to observe what’s happening around you, without letting the situation occupy your precious mind space!

We share practical tips for energy management, from clearing physical clutter to help with mental and emotional clarity to setting realistic expectations for yourself and for others.

Overcoming Self-Doubt: Debunking Imposter Syndrome EP12110 Sep 202400:23:37

This has been weighing on my mind so we are bringing it back and jumping back to episode #1 with debunking imposter syndrome. You are having a feeling, not a medical condition.  Feelings are not facts. They are a temporary experience.  A feeling.  So now that we know this...what do we do?

In this episode, we talk about how to recognize, deal with, and prevent future feelings of being an imposter.  Spoiler alert - men feel it too.  The difference?  They take action anyway.

Ready to move out of imposter feelings, here are the 3 R’s for success:

  • Remember – Remember that imposter syndrome is just a thought, not reality. It’s something many people feel, even the most successful. Don’t let it trick you into thinking you don’t belong.

  • Recall – When doubt creeps in, recall your wins, the skills you’ve built, and everything you’ve already achieved. You’ve done it before, and you can do it again.

  • Reframe – Reframe those negative thoughts into positive affirmations. Instead of “I’m not good enough,” tell yourself, “I bring something unique, and there’s room for me.”

So, it’s September, my favorite month!

I love those cool mornings where you can rock a sweatshirt with shorts, only to have to ditch the sweatshirt later when it gets hot - classic New England fall vibes. To set yourself up to enjoy these Fall days we must talk about the true value of your time.

So, Podsters, how are you valuing your time? Let’s figure out how to make the most of what’s left of 2024!

SIDE NOTE: Do remember that 2015 wife bonus scandal? Let’s unpack this scandal and give you another wild way to think about the value of time and how we negotiate our time with our relationships.

3 Tips to Savor September & Keep Those Summer Vibes Going Through Fall EP11927 Aug 202400:24:10

It’s fall, Podsters!  The chill in the morning air, the sweatshirts coming out of storage, leaves falling (yes, my lawn is covered in leaves) all mean one thing – summer is over.  And as summer winds down, you might find yourself feeling a bit of that seasonal stress creeping in.   You know what I mean… the shift from the laid-back vibe of summer to the busyness of fall can be a lot to handle.

Enter, September Scaries.

You’re not alone Podsters and guess what? This is the perfect time to level up in both your life and business, and this week’s episode will help you to do just that.

Today I’m sharing three key tips to help you smoothly transition into fall while keeping your momentum strong. Summer might have been all about relaxing and recharging, but as we move into the last quarter of the year, it’s time to get clear on what you really want to accomplish before the year wraps up.

Right now, is the best time for a re-focus.  It’s like a second New Year!

With shorter days and a busier schedule, it’s easy to feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day so we have to curate our commitments.

How? By taking a strategic approach to your calendar. Before committing to new obligations, ask yourself, "Will I want to do this when the time comes?" With the summer freedom feeling it’s easier to say yes to more things, but as we roll into fall we have to manage our energy a little differently.

This means, really asking yourself what you want to commit to and leaving some room in your schedule.

What if you choose one day  in your schedule where you don’t schedule anything at all and simply let things play out and happen for you!

Life happens, and it’s crucial to create space for those unexpected moments and for times when you just need to pause, play, and regroup. Having this space not only allows you to focus to move your life and business forward and leaves time for those unexpected delightful days of fun with your friends and family.

So, if you’re feeling that end-of-summer stress, Podsters, I got you. Together, we’ll turn those September Scaries into the fuel you need to thrive this fall and beyond.

She’s also my friend, my mentor and my business coach and today we are holding nothing back as we talk about everything: all of the peaks and valleys that come with managing your own success such as:

· Managing conflicting expectations and How I’m managing priorities

· About ME overcoming my OWN limiting beliefs

· What happens when you really go all in and get what it is you think you’ve wanted all along – and the rest of your mind needs to catch up.

· Next level success

· The reality of running for political office

· Really getting to the heart of what you want and the insidious way we hold ourselves back to stay comfortable.

· Toe dipping actions and tricking ourselves into believing you are taking high level actions

Is Your Inner Circle Helping or Hindering Your Success? EP11713 Aug 202400:27:17

Look around, Podsters - and look closely.  Your environment (the people you hang with, the places you go, the information you take in, all of it) shapes your thoughts and beliefs.  Your beliefs shape your behavior.  And we all know – your behavior shapes your outcomes.  So, I ask…

Who are you surrounding yourself with?

You know the saying, "your net worth is the average of the five people you spend the most time with"? Well, I'd take it a step further and say your value (which is your currency), is shaped by those same people.  How you see and value yourself affects how others do, and if you're not hanging out with people who inspire you, challenge you, and are on the path you want to be on, professionally or personally, it's time to rethink your circle.

Podsters, it's true. You become what you surround yourself with. The people in your life, their energy, their mindset, ALL OF THIS has a massive impact on what you think, your beliefs and how you show up.

And eventually, you’ll start to reflect the ideas, thoughts, goals and opinions of those around you as well - so make sure these are people you admire, people whose qualities and successes you want to emulate.

Today, podsters I invite you to take a good hard look around; your friends, your colleagues, your family, your professional networks, how you spend your precious time and who you spend it with…. are these the people who will support you, believe in you and help you get where you want to go?

As we get ready for fall, and the “back to school” frenzy, it’s the perfect time to assess who you're spending time with on the playground of life.

Let’s unpack this in a real, practical way. No cheesy quotes or overused memes, just an honest look at how the company you keep can significantly impact your journey.

As summer winds down, let’s use these quiet moments to re-evaluate and ensure that we're surrounding ourselves with people who are lifting us up, pushing us forward, and helping us to achieve our goals.

If really want to level up, it's time to pay attention to who’s in your circle.

Do These Three Things to Beat Overwhelm This Holiday Season EP13411 Dec 202400:26:32

Alright, Podsters, we all know the holiday season can get chaotic, but it doesn’t have to leave you feeling stressed, overextended, or completely overwhelmed. So let’s break down what each of these really means:

  • Stress: This one feels like pressure. It’s temporary and signals that you’re working through a challenge. You’re still functional, but juggling a lot.

  • Overextended: This is the hard truth—it’s when you’ve taken on more than you can handle. Something’s got to give.

  • Overwhelmed: The emotional rollercoaster. Overwhelm is consuming and can cause you to shut down entirely. It’s the point where you just can’t take another step.

Recognizing where you are on this spectrum is key—it helps you navigate the holiday season with more intention and clarity.

So now that we know what these are, what can we do about it?

Here are three simple steps to take back your peace as you approach overwhelm:

Step 1: Sit in Stillness
Take 5-10 minutes to simply pause and breathe. This moment of stillness interrupts the cycle of overwhelm and allows you to reset and regain perspective. Just be for a few minutes—you’ll thank yourself later.

Step 2: Map Out Your Calendar
Grab your calendar and write down every single commitment—work, personal, social, and even the "not-so-fun" stuff. Now, here’s the big move: cancel THREE things. Yes, you heard me right—THREE! Let go of tasks or events that don’t truly matter and focus on what does. Prioritize YOU.

Step 3: Block Time for Yourself
This one’s essential: carve out a few hours just for you—no agenda, no to-do list, just pure YOU. Whether it’s reading a book, taking a nap, or simply doing nothing, this time is non-negotiable for your well-being.  And if you choose to spend that time wrapping presents or getting caught up – go for it!

By making space for what truly matters, you’ll protect your energy and avoid that dreaded year-end burnout. Let’s simplify, streamline, and enjoy the season together.

Beat the Summer Slump with 3 Steps to Find Your Motivation When You're Not Into It EP11606 Aug 202400:21:51

Are you ready make the bold move, step into who you know you are meant to be and finally DO THE THING? Join my DO THE THING RETREAT. Learn more HERE, or get in touch to ask me anything!

We're in the heart of summer, and distractions are everywhere, so staying focused and true to yourself professionally can be tough. Today, I'm sharing three steps to get yourself back on track when you're just not that into it.

First, know and leverage your peak productivity.

You know when you're most productive so schedule your most important work during that time. For example, I'm a morning person, so I tackle my big tasks early, and if those “distractions” are calling, I bang out what I need to do a little earlier so I can enjoy whatever it is that’s distracting me.  Figure out your peak performance time and plan accordingly to maximize your efficiency.

Second, sweep your own porch.

This means taking care of yourself and knowing what you need to do to thrive. I keep a “thrive “list to remind me how simple it is to get back to ME.  This list includes things like drinking water, getting some sun, or phoning a friend.  Do what you need to feel good and set at the tone for your life (and your success).

Third, step out when you need to.

Sometimes, taking a break is the best way to reset. Whether it's a quick walk, a day off, or just some quiet time, honor your need for a breather. It's important to step away from your day to day so that you can and come back refreshed and ready.

So, there you have it, Podsters! Three steps to help you get back on track when you're just not feeling it.

Remember, it's okay to have off days. Give yourself some grace, lean into that feeling and use these tips to stay focused and also stay true to yourself.

Until next time, Podsters, peace out!
