| BIRMINGHAM CITY 2 MIDDLESBROUGH 2 | Reaction. Bizarre Refereeing. Late drama. Where do you start?! | 22 Sep 2026 | 00:48:42 | |
Oh lord, where do you start? Middlesbrough were the latest visitors to St Andrews (at Knighthead Park), aiming to go top of the EFL Championship and repeat their performance against Birmingham City from last season. And with August Priske injured, and Luis Vasquez drafted in, they might just have fancied their chances too. But Blues had other ideas. And in a pulsating 3pm Saturday afternoon kickoff, a 2-2 draw ensued, with Liam Millar on top form, the referee absolutely not on top form, and Simon Brew's car parked in a bush somewhere. In the latest Thoughts On The Blues, Simon loads up some cherryade and gets down to work... --- MY BIRMINGHAM CITY BOOK (independent!) | BIRMINGHAM CITY OPEN HOUSE | Reaction, thoughts, Sports Quarter, bricks, healthy food in the stadium | 18 Sep 2026 | 00:40:38
On Thursday 17th September, Birmingham City held the latest of its Open House sessions at St Andrews (at Knighthead Park.) The big takeaway from the evening was changes to the Sports Quarter project, and that Chris Davies has been sent the picture of himself from the end of the Derby County game. But there was much else to talk about too. Somehow, Simon Brew got a ticket. Taking with him a sizeable bag to collect, er, 'souvenirs' while nobody was looking, here's his report from the evening... --- MY BIRMINGHAM CITY BOOK (independent!) | DERBY COUNTY 1 BIRMINGHAM CITY 2 | The win! The reaction! The miss of the season! | 12 Sep 2026 | 00:46:47
Following defeat at Norwich City, Chris Davies took the Blues to Derby County for our second EFL Championship away game on the bounce. This one went better. It went on for hours, granted, but goals from Carlos Vicente and Paik Seung-ho helped us get over Luis Vazquez's aversion to putting the ball into an empty net. Meanwhile, John Eustace looked stern, Christoph Klarer and Phil Neumann must be knackered, and Birmingham City have their second win of the season. In this latest episode, Simon Brew rounds it all up... --- MY BIRMINGHAM CITY BOOK (independent!) | Norwich City 2 Birmingham City 1 reaction | The goal that wasn't. The goals that were. That miss. | 10 Sep 2026 | 00:44:47
Birmingham City took their unbeaten record in the league to Carrow Road, for a midweek EFL Championship fixture against Norwich City. The teamsheet looked thin, with Patrick Roberts and Demarai Gray on the injury list, Alex Cochrane on the bench, Kristoffer Lund getting a start and two goalkeepers in reserve. The game? Well, we went for it, but the Blues hit three key problems. In the latest Thoughts On The Blues, Simon Brew looks at the offside goal, the Norwich double response, and a Kyogo moment for Carlos Vicente as well... Plus: Sky. A few words there. Hosted on Acast. | Birmingham City 2-2 Wolves | Tom Wagner returns! And two goals we'll not forget in a hurry | 06 Sep 2026 | 00:47:22
The first local derby of the season, shifted by Sky Sports to a Sunday lunchtime. Blues found themselves up against Wolverhampton Wanderers, for a lunchtime EFL kick-off where we'd learned ahead of time that Jhon Solis was injured. Were we on the back foot? Initially so when Wolves too the lead. But it all turned into a memorable afternoon at St Andrews (at Knighthead Park), with the emotional return of Tom Wagner, and a frenetic draw that neither side will forget in a hurry. Not just for the debut of Liam Millar, either. Simon Brew rounds everything up. Well, he will do, once he's stopped laughing... --- MY BIRMINGHAM CITY BOOK (independent!) | BIRMINGHAM 1 SOUTHAMPTON 1 Reaction, the closed transfer window, and the Patrick Roberts question | 02 Sep 2026 | 00:45:19
The transfer window slams shut with just Liam Millar added to the ranks, as Birmingham City took to EFL Championship action against Southampton. Last season, there was a gap between the two teams, and Chris Davies needed a home performance to help steady things too. In then for his first start of the season came Patrick Roberts. Begging the question: why has he played so little football for us of late? Whatever the reason, Blues fought out a 1-1 draw in an entertaining game. Simon Brew reflects on the game, on deadline day, and what lies ahead at home to Wolves... --- MY BIRMINGHAM CITY BOOK (independent!) | WREXHAM 1 BIRMINGHAM CITY 2 | Phil Neumann, dodgy Sky coverage, and boy, was that what was needed?! | 28 Aug 2026 | 00:48:38
In the game that nobody from Birmingham was calling the Hollywood Derby, Wrexham welcomed a shellshocked Birmingham City side for a Friday night EFL Championship game where the Blues needed a result, and needed a performance. With Chris Davies under immense pressure, BCFC supporters needed a happy end to a rotten week. And boy, did we get one. In this episode of Thoughts On The Blues, Simon settles down with paintstripper wine to talk about our new star striker, Phil Neumann, our set pieces, James Beadle, the fact that Sky seemed to, er, 'not be fans', and a first league win of the season... --- MY BIRMINGHAM CITY BOOK (independent!) | BIRMINGHAM CITY 1-6 BRENTFORD | How did it go this wrong? | 26 Aug 2026 | 00:40:25
Buckle up. Birmingham City won't be winning the Carabao Cup this season, courtesy of an absolute horror show at home to Brentford. The Blues have now shipped eight goals at home in four days, and against Premiership opposition, barely laid a glove on their opponents. Is that it for Chris Davies now? Where does this leave BCFC? And with Wrexham coming up on Friday, is it time for change? Simon Brew, when he's finished crying, shares a few thoughts... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
| BIRMINGHAM CITY 2 BRISTOL CITY 2 | Where are the shots? What do we do now?! | 23 Aug 2026 | 00:45:28 | |
The first competitive match at St Andrew's (at Knighthead Park) for nearly four months, and a full house was ready for the visit of Bristol City. After two ground out away performances, this was the moment for Chris Davies to take the handbrake off. The same line-up, Jay Stansfield still on the wing. Paik behind August Priske. Marvin Ducksh on the bench, too. A game there for the taking. So why didn't we take it? Er, glad you asked... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
| SHEFFIELD UNITED V BIRMINGHAM CITY | The Championship returns! But what have we learned? | 16 Aug 2026 | 00:50:24 | |
Ah, here we go. Bramall Lane. The EFL Championship opener. Sheffield United playing host to a Birmingham City, who have a good away performance this season already under their belt. Chris Davies and Chris Wilder went head to head, and it turned out to be a game where James Beadle, Jhon Solis, Patrick Bamford and Bright Osayi-Samuel ended up as talking points. As well as a very welcome shot or two from Jay Stansfield. Simon Brew, who'd been off to see, er, Mrs Doubtfire The Musical on the same day, has some thoughts to share... | BIRMINGHAM CITY v BRISTOL CITY | Reaction. The last home game. Are we happier now? | 27 Apr 2026 | 00:45:23
Birmingham City (men's team) took to the field at St Andrew's (at Knighthead Park, obviously) for the final time this season, in a home game against Bristol City. When the fixtures were originally published, there was a hope that this game might mean more than it did, but hey! Here we are. Simon Brew was there, in Block 37, and still searching for hot water in the men's bogs. This time, he chats Phil Neumann, Chris Davies, Jhon Solis, and a very strange opposition mascot (UPDATE: which I've now been told isn't Bristol City's at all, but is a Birmingham Alabama promotion. Crikey.) To support Sarah's half-marathon, the link is here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/sarahs-birmingham-half-marathon Thank you! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
| BIRMINGHAM CITY v PRESTON NORTH EMPTY AWAY END | Reaction. Ibrahim Osman. And why the roadworks?! | 25 Apr 2026 | 00:38:24 | |
The penultimate home game of Birmingham City's 150th year season saw Preston North End head to St Andrews (at Knighthead Park) for a game that, realistically, meant precisely nothing. An end of term dead rubber, two mid-table teams, and the emptiness away end seen in a long time. Simon Brew took his usual seat in Block 37 for a 2-1 home win, where Ibrahim Osman excelled, and Blues took the most bizarre attacking free kick seen in some time. All rounded up in the latest episode of Thoughts On The Blues... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
| HULL CITY v BIRMINGHAM CITY | Reaction. Making a point. And Tomoki Iwata's shooting boots... | 19 Apr 2026 | 00:39:21 | |
Birmingham City went to Hull City in the EFL Championship for a match that meant very little to Blues, but a hell of a lot to Hull, who sit in the play-off places. Chris Davies picked an unchanged side, and Simon Brew wasn't quite sure what to expect. But, as he talks about in this episode of Thoughts On The Blues, what we got was a third straight battling performance against a top six side. A Tomoki Iwata screamer. And that ongoing sense of where was all of this when it mattered...! --- Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
| BIRMINGHAM CITY v WREXHAM | Reaction. A clean sheet. And we need to talk about Carlos Vicente | 13 Apr 2026 | 00:39:47 | |
At the point when result don't really matter so much to the Blues anymore, Birmingham City have re-discovered how to play football. At home to Wrexham in the EFL Championship, they secured a 2-0 win, with goals from Carlos Vicente and Christoph Klarer. And there was precious little to moan about. Simon Brew has a go anyway, in the latest episode of Thoughts On The Blues. Plus: a bit of Jay Stansfield appreciation too. Keep right on... Hosted on Acast. | IPSWICH TOWN v BIRMINGHAM CITY | Reaction. Defeat. Improvement. And 60 yard eyesight?! | 07 Apr 2026 | 00:54:58
After the debacle at home to Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City travelled to Portman Road in the EFL Championship to face high flying Ipswich Town. Struggling for shots, goals and points, The Blues were very much the underdogs, and the form book suggested an easy home win. But! For the second time this season, BCFC took the game to ITFC, and were left discussing a contentious decision from the officials. Chris Davies, for one, wasn't happy. Simon Brew returns with the latest episode of Thoughts On The Blues to try and make sense of it all... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
| BIRMINGHAM CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS | Reaction. James Beadle. More despair. Decision time? | 04 Apr 2026 | 00:49:59 | |
It was Peaky Blinders day at St Andrews (at Knighthead Park) for the EFL Championship fixture between Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers. The Blues needed a reaction after the season-worst showing at Derby County, and manager Chris Davies had promised one. | DERBY COUNTY v BIRMINGHAM CITY | Reaction. Despair. Shots on target. Now what, Chris Davies? | 25 Mar 2026 | 00:45:10
Ah well. Birmingham City went to Derby County for a lunchtime kick-off in the EFL Championship, as John Eustace's team aimed to further their play-off push. For Chris Davies' Blues, this was to be the game where we got our act together and really showed everyone what we were made of. In the latest Thoughts On The Blues, Simon Brew recaps the game, wonders about that team selection, and suspects that it might just have been an end of an era game of football.... Hosted on Acast. | BIRMINGHAM CITY v SHEFFIELD UNITED | Reaction. The bizarre penalty. The harsh reality. | 15 Mar 2026 | 00:46:21
Birmingham City met Sheffield United at home in the EFL Championship on 14th March 2026. A winnable game (for both sides) that looked to have turned with a sending off and a Marvin Ducksh goal in the first half. But it didn't quite pan out that way. We had Jack Robinson and the penalty, James Beadle on top form, Patrick Bamford trolling the Blues fans, and, well, more questions for Chris Davies and his team. | BIRMINGHAM CITY v QPR | Reaction. It's a win. But what does it tell us? | 12 Mar 2026 | 00:40:36
After three straight defeats pretty much ended hopes of Birmingham City making the EFL Championship Play-offs, it was back to St Andrews (at Knighthead Park) for a home game against QPR. The same QPR who won 2-1 at Loftus Road before Christmas. Could The Blues bounce back? Well: yes. A 1-0 win certainly put a smile on Chris Davies' face. But is it papering over cracks, or is this progress? In the latest Thoughts On The Blues, Simon Brew considers a welcome win... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
| CHARLTON v BIRMINGHAM | Reaction. A 1-0 defeat. Three losses in a row. That's that? | 12 Mar 2026 | 00:40:54 | |
Birmingham City went to Charlton Athletic for Chris Davies' 100th game in charge. Sadly, it feels like it might have been a pivotal one. With Lyndon Dykes lining up against us, Blues made changes - Ryan Allsop in goal for a start - and at times looked threatening. But Nathan Jones in the opposite dugout did exactly what everyone expected Nathan Jones to do, and a sore 1-0 defeat followed. Simon Brew responds to the game with all the positivity he can muster. | MILLWALL v BIRMINGHAM CITY | Reaction. Despair. A bad midweek. But do we keep the hope? | 27 Feb 2026 | 00:35:07
Ah well. It was all exciting for a while! After a great win at Norwich, Birmingham City rocked up at EFL Championship promotion contenders Millwall, hoping to secure another good away result. That, chums, is not what happened. Instead, BCFC had a glorious chance to go ahead, and then things started to go wrong. Plus! A sending off for Jhon Solis, and a grim looking injury to Kai Wagner. Are the wheels coming off? In this latest episode of Thoughts On The Blues, Simon Brew considers a testing away defeat, how this leaves us ahead of Middlesbrough, and why it's all his fault.. | NORWICH CITY v BIRMINGHAM CITY | Reaction. Vicente. Ducksh. Play-offs? | 22 Feb 2026 | 00:45:16
Two teams in good form met in the EFL Championship at Carrow Road on 21st February 2026. Norwich City vs Birmingham City was a very different match from when the Blues met the Canaries three months prior - and it'd be a very different game too. Simon Brew, in the latest Thoughts On The Blues, considers a tricky away win, and one that leaves BCFC just one place outside the play-offs. Do we dare to dream? | BIRMINGHAM CITY v LEEDS UNITED | FA Cup reaction. The ''offside goal'. The penalties. But progress? | 16 Feb 2026 | 00:43:29
FA Cup 4th round time, and Leeds United came to St Andrew's (at Knighthead Park) for a clash between Premiership and Championship. But you'd be hard pushed to work out which was which for most of the match. Simon Brew reflects on a 1-1 draw, on the penalty shoot-out, on a Patrick Roberts super-strike and a whole lot more... | BIRMINGHAM CITY v WBA Reaction. Ref decisions. Playing out from the back. Missed opportunity | 14 Feb 2026 | 00:42:02
Birmingham City would jump into the play-off places had they won. West Bromwich Albion fighting relegation. A local derby between BCFC and WBA, at a soggy St Andrews (at Knighthead Park). And a soggy, but absorbing, 0-0 draw. Simon Brew digs through the rubble of a disappointing night at The Blues. There's playing out from the back, distribution, the injury to Paik Seung-ho, and a few controversial decisions to work through as well. Get your coffee ready... Hosted on Acast. BIRMINGHAM CITY haven't had the best of runs against Leicester City over the last 15 years or so. The Blues thought set up at St Andrews knowing a win would extend their unbeaten run to a month and a week. Plus, put pressure on the EFL Championship Play-Off places. In this episode of Thoughts On The Blues, Simon Brew reflects on a very useful win, on Jay Stansfield getting himself a goal again, on the hot water not flowing from the taps in the bogs, and a worrying sense of hope... | OXFORD v BIRMINGHAM CITY | Reaction. Vicente. Whisper it are Blues looking up now | 31 Jan 2026 | 00:41:18
Oxford United vs Birmingham City didn't look the most exciting EFL Championship game on paper. But Chris Davies' men, off the back of a 2-0 away win at Sheffield Wednesday, were eyeing back to back wins on their travels. With new signings August Priske and Carlos Vicente in the squad, hopes were growing - and it turned into a very pleasant football match. Birmingham City - suddenly unbeaten in four - took on an injury-ravaged Stoke City in the EFL Championship at St Andrews. And what a game it wasn't! A 1-1 draw, watched by Simon Brew from a slightly different seat. There was a debut for Ibrahim Osman, a first look at August Priske, and another dash of Jhon Solis. But also a fair few talking points about where this leaves the Blues, whether there was more on offer than we took, and the state of the toilets in the Main Stand. | SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v BLUES | Reaction, blueberries, and - hang on, was that Kyogo?! | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:37:26
Sheffield Wednesday vs Birmingham City. A battle of teams that aren't very good at playing away from home, and a golden chance for the Blues to finally get three points on the road. What BCFC met was a spirited SWFC team, lining up with Emile Heskey's son on the pitch and Nathan Redmond on the bench. Blues, meanwhile? Three new signings, none of them starting. A forward line that's not been firing away from home. No sign of a clean sheet. And the small matter of Kyogo. With the aid of a packet of blueberries, Simon Brew examines just what happened next. | SWANSEA CITY v BIRMINGHAM CITY | Reaction, thoughts - and an actually decent away performance! | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:37:48
Birmingham City's wretched away form suggested that an away trip to Swansea City - with their great home form - was not what was required. With Keshi Anderson and Lyndon Dykes leaving in midweek, and injuries rife, the Blues squad looked thing. And a subs bench for the Championship match with U21 players pointed to part of the problem. Oh, and we're rubbish away. Usually. BUT! This is new Blues (again), and Simon Brew reflects on some welcome progress ahead of matches against Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City... It was at the end of a week where BCFC had defeated Coventry City, and where speculation was rife around the future of Kyogo. | BIRMINGHAM V COVENTRY | Reaction. Shock. Surprise. Now: let this be the turning point. | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:41:08
Three days ago: doom and gloom. Chris Davies out. The Birmingham City project is doomed. Today: we beat the league leaders. We've got a new left back. Marvin Ducksh and Lewis Koumas scored! Chris Davies in. The fickle life of a football fan laid bare, as The Blues responded in the best possible way to their mauling at Watford, by going toe to toe with EFL Championship leaders Coventry City at St Andrews (at, obviously, Knighthead Park.) Uh-oh. One month after Birmingham City beat Watford in the EFL Championship, the reverse fixture comes around with the teams in very different states. | BIRMINGHAM V SOUTHAMPTON | Reaction video, delayed by the referee standing in the way | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:44:47
Birmingham City and Southampton came together again for the second time in a month, with the Saints' 3-1 cruise over Blues still fresh in the memory. Chris Davies has found himself under pressure in the BCFC dugout, with wins suddenly hard to come by. So it was back to St Andrews (at Knighthead Park) as much out of hope than expectation. | BIRMINGHAM CITY vs DERBY COUNTY | Reaction. Boxing Day. Oh lord, are we in meltdown now? | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:46:27
A feisty EFL Championship encounter between Blues and Derby at St Andrews ended in a 1-1 draw with both teams having had a player sent off. Ah, you can't beat Boxing Day football. For Chris Davies this must feel likes points dropped. For John Eustace, he ended up with a yellow card on his return to BCFC. In this latest episode, Simon Brew goes through a(nother) disappointing game for the home team, but one where Jack Robinson emerged as an unlikely hero. Is he the striker we've been missing? | BIRMINGHAM CITY v CHARLTON | Home form falters against Charlton. I have thoughts. | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:43:33
After a week with two troubling away defeats, BCFC headed back to St Andrews (at Knighthead Park) for what looked like a more straightforward home game against Charlton Athletic. Chris Davies and his Blues have been brilliant at home of late, and this had three EFL Championship points written all over it. Until, er, it didn't. | BIRMINGHAM CITY | The QPR Aftermath | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:43:11
That went well. On a Tuesday night in December, Birmingham City went to QPR for a testing game at Loftus Road. Blues, with terrible away form, had a chance to turn things around. To make a statement. To put pressure on the teams in the EFL Championship play-off places. Spoiler: #BCFC did nothing of the sort. Instead, Chris Davies sent out a slightly changed team, that came back with their tails between their legs. In this episode of Thoughts On The Blues, Simon has thoughts on why. | BIRMINGHAM CITY | Southampton away. Kyogo & the open goal. Demarai Gray. And the away form problem. | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:33:31
Southampton vs Birmingham City in the EFL Championship. The Blues bringing with them their already legendary away form this season, a terrific striker who does everything but score goals, and a fresh sense of optimism that's left #bcfc in the play offs conversation. What could possibly go wrong? Buckle up! Simon - simon.brew on Insta, btw - is back for a chat about a baffling but also entirely understandable 3-1 defeat. Where people such as Kyogo, Demarai Gray, Adam Armstrong and James Beadle are very much in the conversation. Please do subscribe if you don't mind. It really helps. KRO. | BIRMINGHAM CITY | Watford. A wet Monday night. And who on earth does Tommy Doyle think he is?! | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:36:03
Torrential rain. The Sky Sports cameras. A tough home game for Birmingham City against Watford in the EFL Championship. St Andrew's (at Knighthead Park, obviously). No Tomoki Iwata. Chris Davies and BCFC looking for another strong home performance. And a club shop that won't throw in an AA battery. In the latest Thoughts On The Blues, a very soggy Simon considers Demarai Gray, Tommy Doyle, Jay Stansfield and Paik Seung-ho. And also, he takes a look at the league table and gets a bit of a nose bleed... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
| BIRMINGHAM CITY | The Baggies, The Duck, and the Earpiece: what went down at the local derby?! | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:33:16 | |
Well, this local derby went a little bit better than the last one. Birmingham City took on West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns, with Chris Davies on the up, and Ryan Mason on the down. It was a lively evening, with WBA looking up for it, BCFC looking a bit sluggish. But! This is New Blues! And in a tight Championship match, memorably for a referee trying to get his headphones to work, it turned out to be the Day Of The Duck. In the latest Thoughts On The Blues, Simon has a few thoughts. Please subscribe and like if you don't mind. Simon's on Instagram at simon.brew too. KRO... Hosted on Acast. | BIRMINGHAM CITY | What happened against Norwich City? And why was there a shed on the pitch?! | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:32:27
Birmingham City returned from the international break to play another team with manager troubles. This time, the EFL Championship fixture at home to Norwich City, on the week that the Powerhouse Stadium (at Knighthead Park) and its assorted chimneys were revealed. In this Thoughts On The Blues, Simon chats about four more goals, expectation levels around cups of hot chocolate, Tommy Doyle, missing Panini football stickers and the moment a shed was brought back onto the Blues turf... | BIRMINGHAM CITY | Who took you to your first game? | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:26:27
In the midst of the international break, this slightly different episode of Thoughts On The Blues reflects on going to St Andrews for the first time. Who took you? What do you remember? What happened in your first game? This one's dedicated to my dad, who passed at the end of last week. He took me to see Birmingham City vs Notts County, back when the First Division was the Premier League. Some reflections on that, and trying to remember just why Mark Dennis was sent off... | BIRMINGHAM CITY | Middlesbrough. What happened? And why did we lose the game?! | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:33:48
After two 4-0 wins in a week, Birmingham City ended up at promotion-chasing Middlesbrough in the latest EFL Championship game. Boro had just lost their manager - Rob Edwards - to relegation-chasing Wolves, and Blues were on the up. Still, it looked like a tricky away game, and got even trickier when Paik Seung-ho was injured within two minutes. Still: lots to chew on here, in the latest episode of Thoughts On The Blues, the last before the third international break of the season. After this, the football keeps on coming - but are BCFC ready for it? Recorded in Halesowen, here's Simon Brew - @simon.brew on insta - with the latest episode... Hosted on Acast. | BIRMINGHAM CITY | Millwall. Four goals. Is the handbrake now firmly off?! | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:31:11
For the second time in a matter of days, Birmingham City recorded a 4-0 home victory. This time, BCFC were home to Millwall, who promised a much sterner test than Portsmouth at the weekend. Millwall, arriving at St Andrew's unbeaten away from home, and sitting in the play off places. Also for the second time in a matter of days, Chris Davies picked a team that rose to the occasion. Paik Seung-Ho, Demarai Gray, Alex Cochrane and Jay Stansfield did the damage to the scoresheet, but there was a whole lot more to chat about too. Good job, as here's Simon with the latest Thoughts On The Blues... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
| BIRMINGHAM CITY | Portsmouth, and where on earth has this Blues team been hiding?! | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:34:17 | |
Well, crikey. Birmingham City 4 Portsmouth 0. We've been searching high and low for this Blues team for months, and on a balmy day at St Andrews (at, obviously, Knighthead Park), everything seemed to click. A Jay Stansfield missed penalty could have been the bit where things went wrong, but instead, BCFC went on the rampage. In this Thoughts On The Blues, Simon talks just what happened, Marvin Ducksh coming in to save our season, the hot water taps working, and wonders why some fans can't simply be quiet for one single minute... Oh, one note: I record this in one go, and appreciate afterwards that I misidentified a player or two. But, in my defence, I was happy. Hosted on Acast. | BIRMINGHAM CITY | Bristol City. Oh, and what's the point of 71.5% possession?! | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:38:40
Ah, here we go again. In the latest Thoughts On The Blues, Simon considers #BristolCity vs #BirminghamCity in the #eflchampionship. Or, basically, #BCFC vs #BCFC. Bristol City has been a pretty decent stomping ground for #Blues over the year, but this time? No dice. A lot of possesion, but no goal, no points, and a defeat. Where does this leave us? Will #Kyogo ever score? Will the new signings ever click? And where does this leave #ChrisDavies? No definitive answers here. But lots of chat, a bit of wine, and much appreciation to everyone who's liking and subscribing! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
| BIRMINGHAM CITY | Preston North End. Refereeing. And where has Phil Neumann been?! | 26 Jan 2026 | 00:32:08 | |
#BirminghamCity had one win in eight games going into a tricky away game at #PrestonNorthEnd. A midweek #eflchampionship fixture against a team who hadn't lost at home all season. Coming off the back of Saturday's defeat against #HullCity, clouds were gathering above #BCFC and #ChrisDavies. In this latest episode of Thoughts On The Blues, recorded in sunny #Halesowen, a few thoughts on a battling win, another referee performance, the reappearance of Phil Neumann, and increased hopes that my car won't get nicked...
