SIBO Retesting: Your Methane or Hydrogen Gas Levels Have Gone Up - Here’s Why That Might Be a Good Sign
Season 5 · Episode 406
Sunday, October 4, 2026 • Duration 17:16
When I am working with endo clients on their SIBO, I always start the discussions not by diving into the protocol options, but by setting expectations and giving some cautionary warnings.
This is so important, because SIBO is not easy to treat, but also, if you misunderstand your test results as you go through the protocol, you may give up or change protocols when in fact, you should keep going.
Often I have people come to me and tell me they tried one round of herbs and their levels went up, or they tried antibiotics and only one gas came down whilst the other went up, and so on.
So, today, I want to give you a very brief insight into some of the gas patterns you can expect to see when you’re going through SIBO treatment, so that if you’re doing this on your own, or you’re doing it with the help of your doctor but perhaps they are not as versed in SIBO as you’d like, you know what to do when you see these patterns.

Gut Motility and Enteric Nervous System Dysfunction in Endo
Season 5 · Episode 405
Sunday, September 27, 2026 • Duration 13:22
This week we’re travelling again, heading over to the Isle of Wight, and we have a lot of packing to do, so this week is a real bite sized episode, but an important one.
You may remember me talking about a study showing 80% of participants with endometriosis also had SIBO. But what many people don’t know, and what I think doesn’t get enough focus, is that this study also found 100% of participants had a dysfunction of their small intestine motility.
Recently, there’s been some awful articles going around about the rise of the chronic illness community and how we’re lying about how ill we are, and that we’re encouraging others to believe they are also ill.
So, today, if you’re questioning how you’re feeling, worried it’s all in your head, or fearful you won’t be believed, I wanted to give you some research on why you your health may have been declining in recent years, or why you now have three or four extra chronic conditions added on top of your endo. It’s not all in your head, and you’re not making it up.

Hormone Patterns in Endo, PMOs and Perimenopause - How to Track Them and What They Mean
Season 5 · Episode 402
Tuesday, August 25, 2026 • Duration 01:32:21
Please note - due to graphs and example images, this podcast might be best consumed as the original video here: https://youtu.be/z04DCzoSgxY
This week on the podcast I am interview Rose Mackenzie, Clinical Manager behind Mira, the hormone monitor that I use with clients, to discuss tracking and understanding your hormonal patterns.
I use Mira with my clients to:
Identify what their hormones are up to when their endo symptoms are at their worst.
Identify whether my clients are in perimenopause or menopause and what stage.
Track and manage PMOS.
Help clients with their fertility journey.
And even identify if hormone fluctuations make their co-conditions (like MCAS and POTS) worse.
In this episode, Rose and I will be covering:
What is the Mira, how does it work, what is the validity of the testing and how does it compare to the hormone tests we can get at the doctor's surgery? How can we use it?
How might the Mira be helpful for tracking endo symptoms and what might be influencing them?
How can we use Mira to monitor perimenopause and/or menopause? What patterns are we looking for?
How can we use Mira for monitoring PMOS (a co-condition of endo)?
How can we use Mira for fertility?
Are there any co-conditions of endo that we could monitor with Mira?
You don’t have to have a Mira or want to buy one to benefit from this conversation. We’re going to be talking about hormones in endo, peri, PMOS and more, and discussing what patterns, signs and symptoms to look for when identifying hormone issues.
However, if you do want to purchase one after listing to this episode, use this link and code 2DUFFJESS20 to get 20% off the device and any future wand orders.
Impact of POTS or Dysautonomia on the Endo Belly and IBS symptoms
Season 5 · Episode 390
Friday, August 14, 2026 • Duration 16:52
A while back I did an episode on Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and Dysautonomia and its connection to endometriosis.
If you haven’t listened to that episode, I’ve linked it in the show notes.
Today I want to do a short episode on how POTS may be connected to your endo belly and IBS symptoms.
Three Ways SIBO Can Contribute to Endo Symptoms Outside of Endo Belly and IBS
Season 5 · Episode 400
Friday, August 7, 2026 • Duration 19:31
So today marks the 400th This EndoLife episode! But it occurred to me that my first full episode on SIBO was episode 90! So for some of you, you may wonder why it’s such a big deal in my mind for people with endo. So I wanted to share some of the ways that SIBO can affect our endo symptoms, outside of the usual endo belly issues.
