With the 50s behind us, we are now moving into our annual April Fool’s Episode. No surprises this time, just some April Fool’s themed horror movies. These three films have 3 things in common. They are all centrally themed around a party on April Fool’s day, they were all released in 1986, and they were all filmed under the name of our first film. But since the first film took the name, the other two had to settle for secondary titles.

The zombie craze continues with remakes galore. Sometimes it is a color remake of the original, and sometimes it takes the spirit of the original sequel to forge their own. Then we see a sharp decline in quality, with parkour zombies and CGI that would make Romero roll in his grave. Tonight we are discussing the remakes of the classic Romero ‘of the dead’ trilogy with the 1990 Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, and Day of the Dead: Bloodlines - unrelated to the first Day of the Dead remake..

Appearing shortly after the zombie apocalypse floated into the mainstream, Romero heavily leaned into his cult stardom and started making changes to his winning formula. Join us for the aftermath.

George A Romero, one of the godfathers of the modern horror pantheon, exploded on the scene with a little black and white film called Night of the Living Dead.
