Welcome Back to the space with no name. This week "Between Floors" we're going to take a look at the pilot script that won Ben Stiller's heart and changed the course of history for Dan Erickson... and all of us really. Your Refined Hosts Rodnesha and Kali heavily endorse reading the Pilot script - as you'll hear it's WILD!! We'll tell you one thing, had the script remained unchanged we would've gotten a lot more nude Adam Scott and... well... we'll let you guys decide if that would be a good or bad thing. | We React To: Tell Me Who I Am (Between Floors) | 12 Jun 2025 | 01:28:54 | |
**TRIGGER WARNING** this episode reacts to a film that discuss S.A. and child abuse. Be advised. Your refined hosts Kali and Rodnesha find documentaries to be a good way to pass the time when Between Floors - be it true crime or cults! (Yes... we're weirdos.) But today we chose to cover the Netflix doc, Tell Me Who I Am because it has a purpose - one that's connected to the world of Severance! Our forever heroine Britt Lower name-dropped this gem as an integral part of her character prep for "Helly R." in Season 1. Well, if it's good enough for Britt... it's good enough for these twits! While it was a very intense watch - we discovered a lot of parallels to the characters and plots of Severance. So whether or not you've watched the film we think you'll enjoy our accompanying thoughts and feelings on not only the incredible story contained within the documentary, but the ways in which we realized just how interconnected these two pieces of media are.

| Dan's Sci-Fi Recs: DARK CITY (1998) | 14 Aug 2025 | 01:37:13 | |
Your Refined Hosts Kali and Rodnesha are proud to present to you a little series we call Dan's Sci-Fi Recs! "Dan Who?" Why Dan Erickson - creator of Severance of course! "But Why?" Because sometimes it's GENIUS to explore the genius behind the Genius. In other words, we got the chance to ask Dan Erickson a crucial question earlier this year, "As a sci-fi fan, what are your Top 3 Sci-Fi movie recommendations?" At first we thought nothing of it, then we realized... we might be holding a rosetta stone, so-to-speak, to the inner workings of our favorite series on TV! So we decided to watch them one-by-one and give you our thoughts. Do we love it? Do we... opposite of love it? Do we see any Severance parallels? Are we adding it to our sci-fi "must watch" lists? We're gonna discuss it all and the first movie up is the one Dan said was the most formative to him in his youth - DARK CITY! So sit back, relax and get ready to dive into the seedy underbelly of Sci-Fi Noir!!

So today we talk about trauma, therapy, PTSD, and how these factors affect the characters we know and love in Kier, PE. But that's not all we discuss. Mike also shares some AMAZING stories of how he got connected to the cast of Severance, how he and Ben Stiller became basketball BFFs, and how this show, which was initially just a point of catharsis, has taken him down roads he never thought he'd travel. Today, we tackle the 3rd and final film recommendation from Dan Erickson. To complete the trilogy of Dan's Sci-Fi Recs, we recap the 1982 classic... THE THING! Starring two 1980s HOTTIES - Jurt Russell and Keith David! But we're not here to talk about how these studs took our breath away... ok, a little bit we do. But MOSTLY we're here to discuss what a landmark this film is to both Sci-Fi and horror. We also come to realize by the end that all 3 of Dan's Sci-Fi recs have one thing in common: Aliens coming to earth to do sneaky stuff. Each is doing some form of body snatching, be it literal, metaphysical or biological. (Not appreciated.) One can only wonder how these monumental films might impact the world of Severance in future seasons. (Please no ACTUAL aliens...please.) Grab your warmest parka, put on your sturdiest snow boots, and let's get cozy by the fire. It's the safest place to be when The Thing has been set free!

If you enjoy this episode, let us know if you want us to do an episode bu episode break down of the season the same way we do it for Severance.
