| The Year Is 1957 | 03 Aug 2022 | 00:54:52 | |
The boys are back in town. Our first episode back in the studio with everybody present who should be there, Red, Bobby and Jody. We hear about Bobby going to Canada, which Red has never been to, and Jody went up the One World Trade Center, which Red would never do. More importantly we travel back to 1957, for an episode researched by Bobby Mair, a year when the Hamilton Watch Company introduces the first electronic watch in the world, suspected English serial killer, Dr John Bodkin Adams is found not guilty of murder at the Old Bailey, the Soviet Union launches Sputnik 2 with the first animal to orbit the Earth, and Dwight D Eisenhower is sworn in for a second term as the President of the United States. Also Red's friend tries to buy a pizza, and Bobby commits to getting a "The Year Is" tattoo after failing to persuade Jody to get one. It's Edinburgh Fringe Festival time.
