It was a week in pop culture that just kept on giving, so we had to bring our very own media correspondent, Brenden Hand, onto the pod! Between the Olympic Village and the Love Island Villa, this summer continues to deliver high quality content. While there still hasn’t been a story that’s topped Demi vs. Froyo, pop culture really pulled through this week and gave us some amazing content to unpack.

First up: Olivia Rodrigo has done it again (do you get deja vu reading that? Ha ha no but for real, we’ve definitely said that before). “Good 4 U” served all the nostalgic punk rock Paramore vibes we didn’t know we were craving and we’re beyond ready for her album to drop this week (16:06-26:39).

Next: to nobody’s surprise, it was announced last week that season 19 of The Ellen DeGeneres Show will be the last. Ellen’s really out here trying to act like it’s ending because she’s “not being challenged enough,” and not at all because of the steep decline in ratings and toxic work environment. Regardless, we talk about how we still have a soft spot in our hearts for Ellen (26:47-37:59).

Finally: Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick are engaged and, to be fully transparent, we mostly just talk about the ring AKA rock AKA absolute boulder. The proposal was 10/10 and we unpack why Kaitlyn and Jason are such a great Bachelor nation couple (38:00-47:38). Let’s discuss!

The tea was mild this week, but that never stops us from somehow still recording an hour-long episode.

On episode 26 of The Wrong Side, special guest (and former roommate!) Nadia joins to discuss Emily and Audrey’s best and worst roommate behaviors and helps them cover the tea from last week. First up: the new arrivals on The Bachelor (Michelle, we’re rooting for you) and why Nadia is Katie’s #1 fan (28:10-48:56).

Now that Audrey has finally finished “The Wilds” on Amazon Prime, we also discuss the show and all of the questions it had the audacity to leave us with (49:15-1:04:48).

On episode 25 of The Wrong Side, we’re keeping you informed on a lot of drama involving a lot of blondes. First, we cover the absolute bloodbath that was Sarah vs. the rest of Matt’s cast on the most recent episode of The Bachelor (9:58-27:22).

Speaking of The Bachelor, Dale Moss is once again a bachelor because, to literally no one’s surprise, Clare and Dale have broken up. We talk about the level-10-cringe sequence of events that went down regarding the announcement of the very much expected news. TL;DR....Dale didn't show up (27:29-41:26).

Finally, if you’re still invested in two girls fighting over an average white boy, we’re giving our final thoughts on Sabrina Carpenter's new song, “Skin,” and declaring the winner of this tea once and for all (41:30-57:08). Let’s discuss!

The first week of 2021 brought enough tea for us to sip on for a lifetime. First, we had the Kim and Kanye divorce bombshell, somehow then combined with rumors that Kanye and Jeffree Star were having an affair??? (10:28-21:35)

The Bachelor made a comeback with Matt James’ debut and it wasn’t as bad as we thought it’d be, but we did have some thoughts on the prayer he initiated and Heather M joining the show soon (21:39-40:12).

Finally, we cover our favorite show of the year (even if we’re only 11 days in), which is Netflix’s “Bridgerton.” This show gave us everything we needed and we have much to discuss. Also, it should be illegal for anyone to be as attractive as the Duke of Hastings (40:16-1:06:33).
