Nina is joined by her dear friend Katie, who she met twenty ago in the world of work - and shared many a hedonistic night with back in the day. Katie stopped drinking over a decade ago, and, as you'll hear, is hugely grateful to Nina for helping her change course. From breaking into a swimming pool with stolen chicken pies, long, boozy lunches with clients and after-hours shots with junior staff - not to mention a chastening conversation with her boss - Katie shares her journey into sobriety in the most honest of terms. She now lives in LA with her husband and two children and runs a successful business.

Harriet has been sober since 1st January 2026. She is a married mother of three boys - who, like Nina, is sharing her relationship with alcohol and sobriety on Instagram in hugely candid, moving and funny ways. By her own admission, being brutally honest about her story is central to the choices Harriet has made, and that honesty is very much in evidence during this conversation. Thankfully, though, her husband is supportive enough to have risked life and limb by hiring a scooter in Thailand to ride for several hours to find the only place that stocks non-alcoholic beer in the country.

On the very day we recorded this episode, Suze was celebrating 1,500 days sober. Though she's stopped counting, it felt written in the stars this would be the very moment she'd be sharing her story with Nina. Seduced by the 'Mummy Wine Culture', Suze attempted to stop drinking on countless occasions but never quite succeeded. Then she had a harrowing night of reckoning on a family holiday in Cornwall, recounted in heart-wrenching detail, which ultimately proved to be a significant turning point in her journey. After another major bump in the road, she finally did what she'd failed to do so many times before and became sober. Yet she didn't do it alone. And in a first for the podcast, our wonderfully sober guest's husband, Al, joins the discussion, providing a candid perspective on what it is to love someone debilitated by alcohol.
