| EP. 237 Lake Guntersville, the Bass Fishing Mecca with Legendary Captain Betty Stahl | 17 May 2022 | 00:16:31 | |
Imagine fishing one of the most pressured, clearest, grass-covered lakes in the country during one of the biggest pro bass tournaments for the 1st time ever. Well, that was me this past week. It indeed proved to be a major challenge and, not that I need it, but a humbling experience! However, I was blessed to get the opportunity to sit down with an amazing lady out on Lake Guntersville, Captain Betty Stahl, and that made any struggles I may have had on the fishing side more than worthwhile. I am excited to share it with you on this week's episode! Betty grew up fishing in Florida but eventually moved to the Guntersville area specifically because of this amazing fishery. She is now doing guided trips, and she knows this lake through and through. She fished the Bassin' Gals trail back in the heyday and now she's currently the only female team fishing the Alabama Bass Trail and kicking some tail! At 71 years old (sorry Betty I hope that's ok to reveal your age but you don't resemble anywhere close to it!!!), you're about to get taken to class! Listen in and take notes from Captain Betty! Time on the water is EVERYTHING! ***Note while we were camped at Guntersville State Park one of the MLF competitors approached me and asked about the podcast. He said, I have someone you need to have on your show, her hame is Captain Betty Stahl. I said, "I'm way ahead of you! She came out here yesterday afternoon and we had a great visit!" What a small/supportive world the fishing community is. I love it so much.*** Mentioned in this Episode:

This week we are introducing the new monthly episode series called "One Day at a Time" with special guest Kate Grice Hough. Life can be a struggle and in these uncertain times, a lot of us have struggled with mental and physical challenges. I felt a calling to create this new series of The Woman Angler & Adventurer platform in 2022 to share stories of women who want to tell the story of their challenges with us in order to help others work their way through and find inspiration. You'll no doubt discover a common theme- using nature and the outdoors as a tool to overcome. I first met Kate at iCast back in 2019. It seemed as though she had the world in her hands at that time. She was on track to be the first woman ever to win Co-Angler of the Year for the FLW South Carolina division. It wasn't long after that, Kate was dealt a devastating blow to her health...and it's been a major rollercoaster ever since. I hope you enjoy this new series and that it does what we hope it will do. Please share these episodes with as many as you can so we can make the biggest positive impact! Pray for Kate! Mentioned in This Episode:

Happy New Year everyone! I'm excited to kick off the new year with an inspiring story of a woman who is relatively new to fishing but has taken her passion such a long way in a short amount of time. Meet TJ Gramberg! TJ is an avid member of Wisconsin Women Fish, loves ice fishing, fishing for catfish, pike, and many other species. She was introduced to the sport about 6 years ago and has been like a sponge ever since, soaking as much information up as possible and fishing every chance she gets. This week you get to hear about TJ's incredible journey and find out how she's gone from just learning herself to teaching others and even bringing onboard some sponsorships. If she can do it, you can do it so sit back, take some notes, and be inspired as we kick off the new year! Mentioned in This Episode:

| EP. 215 The Lady Bass Angler Association 2021 Professional Rookie of the Year Stephanie Hemphill-Pellerin | 21 Dec 2021 | 00:47:39 | |
This week I invite you to enjoy a slightly condensed audio version of a recent Women's World of Fishing Monday Night Facebook/YouTube Live featuring professional bass angler Stephanie Hemphill-Pellerin. We understand it can be a challenge on Monday nights to take the time out and sit down with your device or computer and tune-in, so I decided to share with you the great conversation Barbara Harris and I had with this incomparable woman angler. Now you can listen in on your commute to work or to the shopping mall for those last-minute Christmas gifts. Here's the description from the show as summed up by Barbara Harris: We were finally able to catch up with the LBAA Professional Rookie of the Year, Stephanie Hemphill-Pellerin! She is a tough lady to squeeze in because she is always fishing, and when I say that, I am being very serious. For instance, her schedule for next year? She is fishing as an MLF, Central Opens, AND LBAA professional! Aside from actual tournament days, she will be driving, practicing, researching, and in all honesty, the lady does have to sleep at some point! When it comes to catching fish, Stephanie is a threat to everyone she fishes against. She came in 4th overall in Angler of the Year points during her Rookie season with the LBAA and she also came in 34th out of 188 boats in a BFL Wildcard tournament on the boater side. She makes good, solid decisions on the water, and what's even more dangerous than that? She "grades her own paper" at the end of a tournament and identifies the mistakes she made or the little things she could have done to improve her performance. Essentially, Stephanie doesn't "put a tournament behind her." She is always learning and "upping her game." In my opinion, her talent and instincts make her good. However, her work ethic, ability to critique herself, learn, her dedication, desire, drive, and ability to self-motivate are what make her great. One thing is for certain. Stephanie is a Stick on the water that people will be chasing for a long time. She is also a wonderful role model for women in fishing and she is actively advocating for women in the sport both on Social Media and behind the scenes. As long as women of Stephanie's caliber continue to advocate for women, we will continue to progress in this sport in so many ways! Enjoy! Mentioned in this Episode:

| EP. 207 From Florida to Alaska to the Bahamas, Southeast Asia, Guam, and Back- Captain Gabrielle Barnes Is No Stranger to Adventure! | 26 Oct 2021 | 00:18:27 | |
I absolutely love when I get the opportunity to do on-location interviews and this one is right up there with one of my favorites! I had an impromptu opportunity to take a week trip down to Perdido Key with some good friends, so of course, I jumped on it. While down there, I thought, you know, this is an area of Florida I've not been to before. There's got to be some amazing lady anglers in the area that I could meet up with and feature on the show. So, I reached out to my good friend Captain Debbie Hanson to see if she has any ideas and she pointed me in the direction of this week's guest, Captain Gabrielle Barnes! Capt. Gabby is based out of the Destin area, so we made the short drive over to Ft. Walton Beach, where we met up one beautiful afternoon on Okaloosa Island at The Gulf Restaurant waterside, which was the perfect setting for our conversation. Gabby pulled her center console Nautic Star after successfully catching some bait in preparation for the next day's charter and here we are! You'll hear jets flying overhead from the nearby Air Force base, and other ambient sounds making you feel like you're right there with us as Gabby recounts her amazing adventures in fishing and as a successful Charter Captain with her company Lady Luck Adventures finishing up her 4th Season. She also lets us in on something new coming up that she's been working on- hosted trips! The 1st one is something Gabby is no stranger to- fly fishing for bonefish in Andros, Bahamas! | EP. 202 New To Fishing, but She Is Absolutely Hooked! Meet Fancy Pants Fishing Kat Jones. | 21 Sep 2021 | 00:33:35
This week I'm excited to introduce you to someone who only started fishing in the last couple years, but she's all in. @fancypantsfishing is her Facebook and Instagram handle (go give her a follow!). Her actual name is Kat Jones, and I was thrilled to have the chance to meet her in-person while we were down at Logan Martin for the LBAA Classic. It's hard to beat the passion of someone who is new to the sport and has a love for it like Kat clearly does. She's even toying with the idea of trying out an LBAA event or 2 next year as a Co-Angler! Kat came to a couple of our weigh-ins during the tournament and I think the ladies may have made a bit of an impression. Alyssa Johnson even brought Kat's kids up on stage with her for her weigh-in, and they got to meet and collect autographs from all the qualifiers. It was a special thing to see! She's been watching our Women's World of Fishing Monday Night Live's with Barbara Harris (to resume next week after I've fully recovered from The Classic), chiming in with comments and asking some great questions as well. I hope you enjoy our conversation! Special Note: HUGE THANKS to all who voted for The Woman Angler & Adventurer as the Best Outdoor Podcast in 2020 by the Outdoor Media Summit. We pulled off another win for the 2nd year in a row. You all are amazing! I go to Colorado next week to accept the award from the 2019 Summit. Mentioned in this Episode:
