The Artemis podcast has been around a long time and Marcia features adventurous, accomplished women who are redefining conservation through their lives in the field and on the water.

  • EP. 237 Lake Guntersville, the Bass Fishing Mecca with Legendary Captain Betty Stahl

    Episode 237

    mardi 17 mai 2022Duration 16:31

Imagine fishing one of the most pressured, clearest, grass-covered lakes in the country during one of the biggest pro bass tournaments for the 1st time ever. Well, that was me this past week. It indeed proved to be a major challenge and, not that I need it, but a humbling experience! However, I was blessed to get the opportunity to sit down with an amazing lady out on Lake Guntersville, Captain Betty Stahl, and that made any struggles I may have had on the fishing side more than worthwhile. I am excited to share it with you on this week's episode!

Betty grew up fishing in Florida but eventually moved to the Guntersville area specifically because of this amazing fishery. She is now doing guided trips, and she knows this lake through and through. She fished the Bassin' Gals trail back in the heyday and now she's currently the only female team fishing the Alabama Bass Trail and kicking some tail! At 71 years old (sorry Betty I hope that's ok to reveal your age but you don't resemble anywhere close to it!!!), you're about to get taken to class! Listen in and take notes from Captain Betty!

Time on the water is EVERYTHING!

***Note while we were camped at Guntersville State Park one of the MLF competitors approached me and asked about the podcast. He said, I have someone you need to have on your show, her hame is Captain Betty Stahl. I said, "I'm way ahead of you! She came out here yesterday afternoon and we had a great visit!" What a small/supportive world the fishing community is. I love it so much.***

  • EP. 236 Earth Day Celebration Revisited Series: Angling Women, Conservation and More with Bebe Harrison

    Episode 236

    mardi 10 mai 2022Duration 30:29

This is the final episode of the Revisited Series as my crazy tournament schedule winds down this weekend...listen in to the intro for a recap of Caddo Lake and what's to come! Also, get an update on the 2022 iCast Women's Networking Event so you can block it out on your calender if you plan to attend iCast!

    REVISITED!

On this week's episode, my special guest is BeBe Harrison and we have a lot to chat about!

BeBe is a very busy lady in the fishing industry. She has her hands in a lot of different things, but it seems they all tie in together really nicely. From creating her own business Angling Women which provides customized aquatic education programs for individuals, families, and businesses to working with local and national conservation efforts, we touch on it all during our fun chat.

Enjoy! Full show notes available at thewomanangler.com/236
