| Episode 2 | Same River | 02 Aug 2026 | 00:05:25 | |
You cannot step into the same river twice, said Heraclitus. The water has already moved on; the water at your feet has never been there before. This summer, many of us go home. The house is the same, the chairs are the same, the faces we love are the same; and yet we return as people remade by our years away. Often home greets the version of us that left. And, just as often, we do the very same thing to them. A story about homecoming, about the versions of us we become, and about what it takes to truly see who someone has grown into, and to let them see us. This is a public episode. | Episode 1 | Who knows what is good and what is bad? | 19 Jul 2026 | 00:03:27
What if the events we so quickly label as “good” or “bad” are only part of a much bigger story? In this first episode of The Wisdom Café, we explore the timeless tale of the Chinese farmer. It’s a gentle invitation to suspend judgment, embrace uncertainty, and discover the wisdom that emerges when we allow life to unfold before deciding what it means. My teacher, Lisa Doig, always invited this question when faced with triggering situations and challenges: How is this upset a setup for my growth? This question carries a deeper wisdom, an invitation to pause and consider a different response. Stepping into a space of curiosity and learning can allow us to suspend judgement and consider a different outcome. I hope you enjoy this first episode of the Wisdom Café ☕️. | Welcome to the Wisdom Café | 19 Jul 2026 | 00:01:07
Welcome to The Wisdom Café. Pull up a chair, take a breath, and stay for a while. In a world that rarely invites us to simply listen, this is a quiet place where stories, philosophy, and timeless wisdom help us slow down, listen with an open heart, and see ourselves and the world a little differently. I'm so glad you're here. Let me tell you a little about myself and how the Wisdom Café came to be. As a little girl, I used to sit with my eyes wide open while my grandfather told me extraordinary stories. They transported me to different worlds, stirred my imagination, and left me with questions that lingered long after the stories had ended. Looking back, I realise he wasn’t just telling stories; he was teaching me about wonder and awe. That sense of wonder has never left me. I’ve always been drawn to the stories, ideas, and questions that help us make sense of what it means to be human. Some of the most meaningful conversations in my life have never been about finding the right answers. They’ve been about slowing down long enough to ask better questions, to hold uncertainty with a little more grace, and to uncover the wisdom hidden in stories, poetry, philosophy, and everyday life. The Wisdom Café is born from that lifelong love. It’s a quiet place to pause. A refuge from the noise. A place where timeless wisdom meets modern life, and where stories become invitations to meet the world with greater presence, curiosity, and compassion. My hope is simple: that these conversations become a gentle companion on your journey. A place where you can pause, listen deeply, and reconnect with yourself, with others, and with what matters most. Because I believe that wisdom doesn’t shout. It waits patiently for us to become quiet enough to hear it. This is a public episode.
