We're bringing you a bonus episode of The West End Frame Show, with special guests Ope Sowande (Moulin Rouge/The Lion King) and Scarlet Gabriel (Waitress/Six).
Ope Sowande is preparing to play Jack Goose in Mother Goose, this year's pantomime at the Hackney Empire, directed by and starring Clive Rowe.
The pantomime Mother Goose was first created for Hackney Empire regular and Music Hall legend Dan Leno, who first played the title role in 1902. 120 years on, Hackney are proud to present the mother of all pantomimes to conclude their 120th birthday year.
Ope previously understudied Simba in the international tour of The Lion King and recently was a swing in the original West End cast of Moulin Rouge (Piccadilly Theatre).
Ope discusses why he's delighted to be doing panto in Hackney, how it felt to say goodbye to Moulin Rouge and being inspired by his best friend and fellow performer Jordan Shaw.

Billy's theatre credits include ensemble and cover Simon in Jesus Christ Superstar (Barbican / Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre), The Wreck in Wonderful Town (Opera Holland Park), The Color Purple in Concert (Cadogan Hall), Turn Up London (Digital) and An Intimate Evening with Kristen Chenoweth (London Palladium).
Billy was part of the original cast of And Juliet in Manchester and at the Shaftesbury Theatre as a swing before going on to play various roles – including Dewey and the Store Manager – whilst also understudying Emmet in Lucy Moss' London revival of Legally Blonde at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. For his performance, Billy was nominated for Outstanding Performance in a Musical at the 2022 Black British Theatre Awards.
Billy has recently returned to And Juliet, taking over the role of Francois.
And Juliet runs at the Shaftesbury Theatre until 25th March 2023.

Since making his theatrical debut as Marilyn in Taboo at the Brixton Clubhouse, Jordan Luke Gage has become one of the UK's biggest theatrical stars.
Jordan's West End credits include being the first replacement Strat in Bat Out Of Hell (Dominion), originating the role of Romeo in & Juliet (Manchester/Shaftesbury), starring as JD in Heathers (Theatre Royal Haymarket) and most recently he played Clyde in the UK premiere of Bonnie and Clyde (Arts).
Jordan is currently preparing for two sold out solo shows at the new venue HERE at Outernet on 23rd October ahead of playing Fabrizio Naccarelli in a concert staging of The Light in the Piazza at the Alexandra Palace Theatre on 27th November.

A star of stage and YouTube, Christina Bianco is renowened for her musical impressions and regularly tours the world with her acclaimed solo shows. In the UK she has had multiple sell out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and at various London venues.
Christina made her West End debut in Forbidden Broadway (Vaudeville) and gave an award-winning performance as Fanny Brice in Stephen Mears’ 2019 acclaimed revival of Funny Girl in Paris.
She most recently starred as LV in the UK tour of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.
Christina is currently preparing to recreate Liza Minnelli's iconic 1972 concert film Liza With a Z on its 50th anniversary at the Clapham Grand on Sunday 23rd October with the London Gay Big Band.
Christina and the LGBB jazz orchestra will be joined by special guests throughout the evening, including English actress, singer and comedian Sooz Kempner to bring the fabulous songs of Liza Minnelli to life and celebrate this special anniversary year.

Tom Ratcliffe's latest play Wreckage is running at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Directed by Rikki Beadle-Blair MBE, Tom is starring in the play alongside Michael Walters (The Inheritance).
Tom previously received rave reviews at the Fringe for his one-person play Velvet. Another of his plays, Evelyn, recently completed its London run at the Southwark Playhouse starring Rula Lenska.

Jamie Lambert is one half of producing team Lambert Jackson Productions and one fourth of Britain’s Got Talent winning musical theatre vocal group Collabro.
His latest production, along with Eliza Jackson and Aria Entertainment, is Cruise which premiered last year at the Duchess Theatre and was nominated for an Olivier Award. The show, which is written by and stars Jack Holden, is returning to the West End for a run at the Apollo Theatre this Summer.
Having previously produced Songs for a New World at the London Palladium during the pandemic, Lambert Jackson are also producing the upcoming concert of The Secret Garden at the Palladium.

Benji Sperring is directing the European premiere of Yeast Nation at the Southwark Playhouse. From the writers of Urinetown - Greg Kotis & Mark Hollmann - Yeast Nation is described as a "bonkers" musical about a colony of yeast 3.5 billion years ago.
Some of Benji’s directing credits include How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (Wilton’s), Shock Treatment (King’s Head) and Toxic Avenger (Arts Theatre).

Harry is about to make his Edinburgh Fringe debut in I Wish My Life Were Like A Musical by Alexander S. Bermange. The musical - which reveals everything you could want to know about being a musical theatre performer - is returning to Edinburgh following a sell-out run in 2019.
Having trained at Arts Ed, just a few of Harry's theatre credits include Peter Pan (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre), The Pirate Queen (London Coliseum) and Big Bad Wolf in Stiles and Drewe's The Three Little Pigs (Turbine / Underbelly London). He's done panto in Cheltenham, Shrewsbury and Poole and earlier this year appeared in the opera Lohengrin at the Royal Opera House.

JJ Green is the writer and star of the brand new play A-Typical Rainbow which is premiering at the Turbine Theatre.
Based on real events from the perspective of the writer and the autistic community, A-Typical Rainbow is described as an uplifting play about the experience of growing up neurodivergent and queer in early 2000s Britain.
JJ Green is an actor/writer/theatre consultant. Most recently he performed in Perspective for the National Theatre. JJ went on to consult for Equity UK and authored the equity standard guide on neurodivergence in the arts distributed across the industry.

Having trained at Mountview, Hana's early stage credits include playing Ruth in The State of Things (Brockley Jack Studio) and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz (Sheringham Little Theatre). She plays Young Dinah in the feature film Brighton which can be seen on Amazon Prime.
In 2019 Hana joined the West End production of Six at the Arts Theatre as the alternate for Jane Seymour and Catherine Parr. She continued with the show when it moved to the Lyric and then Vaudeville Theatre. Additionally, Hana performed as Jane Seymour at West End Live and sang "Heart Of Stone" at The Show Must Go On at the Palace Theatre for the Theatre Support Fund.
After leaving the West End production of Six at the end of 2021, this year Hana became the first queen to cross the pond and join the musical’s Tony winning Broadway production, where she was an alternate for Catherine of Aragon, Jane Seymour and Catherine Parr.
Hana joins us fresh from Broadway to discuss her time in New York, her journey with Six and her thoughts on everything going on in theatreland this week!

Charlotte is about to go back on tour, starring as Andy in the new reimagined production of Stepping Out, starring alongside Rita Simons, Harriet Thorpe, Hayley Tamaddon, Leanne Jones and Wendi Peters.
Stepping Out opens at the Kings Theatre in Portsmouth on 5th September, and is currently booking through to November 2022.

Ella is the creation of Nick Collier. Nick started out as a musical theatre performer, with his credits including Cats, White Christmas, Once Upon A Time at the Adelphi, Fame, Salad Days and 42nd Street.
He was a swing in Wicked (Apollo Victoria) for several years before going on to cover Joseph Smith in The Book of Mormon (Prince Of Wales) and the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Kilworth House).
Nick had been cast as Sketch and understudy Corny Collins in the 2020 West End revival of Hairspray. However, after the production was postponed to COVID, Nick turned his focus to drag and Ella Vaday.
Ella was one of the stars of Drag Race UK season 3. After winning four maxi challenges (and showcasing top notch vocals along the way), Ella finished as a runner-up.
Since drag race, Ella has been working non-stop. She is set to appear alongside Ed Sheeran in the film Sumotherhood and is touring Canada and Australia this summer, having toured in Pick N Mix with Vanity Milan, Chorizo May and River Medway earlier this year.

Joseph is a deaf dancer and actor, widely celebrated for his run in the West End production of Wicked. He appeared in The Snowman in the West End and on tour across the UK and internationally. He was a dancer for the London 2012 Paralympics Opening Ceremony and was cast in the 2019 UK tour of the Regent’s Park production of To Kill A Mockingbird.
Joseph has also performed various productions for Deaf Men Dancing.
Joseph appeared in the West End production of Wicked between 2015 and 2019, and later returned to the show in 2021 for the musical's post-lockdown reopening and 15th anniversary.
He is soon to appear in the world premiere of the 101 Dalmatians musical at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre this summer in the ensemble and 1st cover Pongo head puppet and 2nd cover Perdi head puppet.

Joe's Broadway credits include: Stephen in If/Then, understudy Willie Lopez in Ghost the Musical, Catch Me If You Can, understudy Howard in Finian’s Rainbow, Fred Casely in Chicago and Ronnie Driscoll in Curtains.
After moving to London, Joe played Benny in In The Heights (King's Cross Theatre) and originated the role of Curtis in the West End premiere of Dreamgirls (Savoy Theatre).
After Dreamgirls, Joe left London for Paris, and then moved to LA. He recently returned to London to star in Steve at the Seven Dials Playhouse.

Richard Carson (understudy Javert in Les Misérables) returns to co-host The West End Frame Show!
Andrew & Richard discuss Mamma Mia! (Novello Theatre) and Maria Friedman & Friends: Legacy (Menier Chocolate Factory) as well as the latest news about the Olivier Award nominations, Newsies, Pamela Anderson and lots more.
Richard is currently playing the Factory Foreman and Combeferre in the West End production of Les Misérables at the Sondheim Theatre. He's also the first cover for Javert and Fight Captain. Richard joined Les Mis in 2019 when the show re-opened at the Sondheim, and also appeared in the show's concert production during the pandemic.
Just a few of Richard's other credits include: Sky Masterson in Guy and Dolls (The Mill at Sonning), Sky in Mamma Mia! (Novello), understudy Chris in Miss Saigon (Prince Edward), understudy Fiyero in Wicked (Original UK & Ireland Tour), Strephon in Sasha Regan’s All-Male Iolanthe (UK Tour), Jason in Myth (Other Palace), Farmer in Oklahoma! (Royal Albert Hall) and Man 1 in Closer Than Ever (Pheasantry).
Richard previously co-hosted the eighth episode of The West End Frame Show whilst he was playing Reuben and covering Pharaoh in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (London Palladium).

We're kicking off the week with a bonus episode of The West End Frame Show! Christina Bianco & Jodie Steele join us to discuss their latest projects.
Christina Bianco is preparing to play LV in a brand new touring production of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. From Judy Garland to Shirley Bassey, Marilyn Monroe to Billie Holliday, in the show Christina vividly brings to life performances from the great chanteuses in Jim Cartwright’s tender and life-affirming play.
Renowned for her musical impressions, Christina tours the world with her acclaimed one woman shows and is well known for her viral videos. She made her West End debut in Forbidden Broadway (Vaudeville) and starred as Fanny Brice in Stephen Mears’ acclaimed production of Funny Girl in Paris.
The Rise and Fall of Little Voice opens 23rd March at MAST Mayflower Studios, Southampton before touring nationally until 16th July 2022. For more information please visit www.littlevoiceuk.com.
Jodie Steele is starring in the world premiere of the musical adaptation of But I’m A Cheerleader at the Turbine Theatre, where it was formerly presented as part of MT Fest in 2019.
Jodie's theatre credits include: Standby Elphaba in Wicked (international tour), Katherine Howard in Six (UK & Ireland tour) and Carmen in Fame (UK tour). She is renowned for creating the role of Heather Chandler in the UK premiere of Heathers, a role she reprised last year when the show returned to the West End.

Having trained at Mechanic Performing Arts, Bryony went on to play Geraldine in Doctor TV & The Zombies at the Leeds Playhouse before setting sail as a lead vocalist for TUI Cruise Line. She then joined the original Bliss cast of Six The Musical for Norwegian Cruise Line. Bryony was originally a swing for Boleyn, Seymour and Howard but took over as Katherine Howard during the contract.
After the lockdowns, Bryony returned to Six as a Universal Swing for West End and tour, regularly performing with both productions. She stayed with the West End company as a Super Swing when Six transferred to the Vaudeville Theatre and completed her run in November last year.

Rhianne is currently back in the West End playing Alline Bullock and understudying Tina Turner in Tina The Musical (Aldwych).

Andrew & Mitchell discuss Sunset Boulevard starring Mazz Murray (Royal Albert Hall), Jack and the Beanstalk (Hackney Empire) and Hamilton (Victoria Palace Theatre) as well as the latest news about Wicked's casting search for Nessarose, Audra McDonald's new project and Matt Terry's latest theatre role plus lots more.
Mitchell recently joined the West End production of Dear Evan Hansen at the Noel Coward Theatre as an understudy for the roles of Evan and Jared. Prior to the pandemic he was understudying Goldie Wilson in the world premiere of Back To The Future at the Manchester Opera House.
Mitchell worked extensively as a child, with his credits include: the original West End cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (London Palladium), Young Simba in The Lion King (West End), Caroline Or Change (National Theatre), Porgy and Bess (West End), Oliver (Theatre Royal Drury Lane) and he played Young Michael Jackson in Thriller Live on tour across the UK, Europe and in the West End.
He kept going and never stopped working, with his further credits including Our Lady of Kibeho (Theatre Royal Stratford East), Stevie Wonder & understudy Berry Gordy in Motown The Musical (West End), Little Moe in Five Guys Named Moe (Edinburgh Fringe) and Curly in Peter Pan (West End).
