This week on The Weedcap, we tackle The Iceman.

A movie where time is measured exclusively by the growth of Michael Shannon’s mustache. We debate whether butter counts as a condiment, how David Schwimmer’s role would’ve been more convincing without a capuchin on his shoulder, and if Ray Liotta’s Chantix commercials were scarier than anything in the film.

Also: Michael Shannon is disturbingly hot. That’s it. That’s the post.

the surfer15 Jun 202500:32:13
After surviving a surprise factory reset of our soundboard (we’re fine, mostly), we bring you an episode all about The Surfer. The 2024 Nicolas Cage film where he lives in the parking lot of a beach, maybe forgets who he is, and definitely eats a dead rat. It’s a weird, sun-drenched fever dream full of beach bullies, existential breakdowns, and one very intense guy in a red Snuggie. We talk Cage’s beachside meltdown, the line between enlightenment and heatstroke, and why this might be the strangest movie of the year….and that’s saying something. tombstone (in vino veritas)05 May 202501:00:01

brooke is back and all you need to know is yesterday she texted me qoute "dear lord i was off that moscato. i didn't say anything offensive did i?"

tombstone barely comes up, sorry bout that. this one got pretty sloppy and turned into a 2v1 on every subject. we'll be back with a more movie based episode on wednesday.

this one is a doozy.

had the best time hanging and talking with our friend @parkerbrowncomedy. parker is legitimately one of the funniest comics to ever walk this earth and if you have the chance to see him locally, do it now before he’s selling out clubs. he’s the reigning magooby’s joke house comedian of the year. to put that into context, past winners include stavros halkias and shane gillis. simply put, it’s an honor to call him a friend and we appreciate him doing our show.

if you wanna hear about the velocipastor, you’re shit out of luck. lotta wim hof talk.

el diablo was conquered but this episode is probably borderline unlistenable, towards the end I couldn’t even finish a sentence. I should’ve had a guest on for lauren to talk to while I ingested because I didn’t take into account how busy my mouth would be taking down all the beers, burgers, and bongers. also I said some things I regret but is a man to be held responsible for everything that he speaks after ingesting 6 beers in an hour? I think not.

we’ll see you on wednesday night, live on youtube with a very special guest. our good friend and magooby’s comedian of the year @parkerbrowncomedy

chronically marvelous: x-men (2000)07 Jun 202501:07:01

Welcome to the first episode of Chronically Marvelous

A limited run series where everyone’s favorite filmmaker, TESD Town resident, and @reviewinghistorypod extraordinaire Brian (lifelong Marvel fan) drags Caleb (Marvel virgin, stoned contrarian) through every movie in the MCU.

We’re starting with X-Men (2000), the leather-clad opener that kicked off two decades of cinematic dominance by treating mutant genocide and Hugh Jackman’s abs with equal gravity.

Join us as we kick around Hugh Jackman’s pending divorce, wonder how much culpability the X-Men have in allowing 9/11 to happen, and ponder the possibility of a satellite school where they keep the non-attractive mutants.

It’s the dawn of a long, possibly cursed journey through the MCU

What a magical night. Still getting our footing doing these live shows but having a lot of fun. Officially back to two episodes per week starting now. Thanks for listening, we love ya.

a day late, a dollar short24 Feb 202500:48:26

This episode is funky. Not necessarily in a good way, it's just funky as hell. I've been begrudgingly sober for a week, we are still sick, I was struggling to breathe, and both of our voices sound crazy. Luckily, we had some good callers to bail us out. Sorry if a part near the ends seems to "skip" at one place. I said the last name of someone who I am genuinely terrified of. The kind of guy who makes outrageous claims like Ken Shamrock was the best man in his wedding, Simone Byles was at his house on a Tuesday teaching his daughter gymnastics, and last but not least he invented the question mark. Felt like I had to take it out so I can sleep at night and relax my sphinxxx.

We're going back to two episodes per week finally (one pre-recorded and one live).

cool ranch flaps16 Feb 202500:57:05

The first live show. Lauren was sick with a fever and I was beside myself trying to focus on the technical aspects of a live stream so our performances were kind of lacking. Luckily we had a few great callers. We can’t wait for the next live show.

new show format / andy from columbus calls in / skyline chili / tp etiquette / bar room wrestling / the ott house / vishnu caught with a strap in cleveland / jeff tzatziki calls in / the mccormick institute of flavoring and technology / a brief summary of 7500

This episode was a sound test that turned out to be fun so we decided to release it. We’re joined by Tortellini Makin’ @alfredbarnescomedy and Magooby's Comedian of the Year @parkerbrowncomedy

We still owe you an episode on 7500, sorry bout that. From now on we'll be doing a regular episode per week and a live youtube broadcast on Friday nights at 8 where you can call in and share your opinions.

On this one we talk about:

-Caleb's work history

-Lauren's sultry Storage Wars fantasy

-Al Barnes: urination ninja

-Parker Brown's Super Bowl Predictions

Details on live broadcast coming over the next few days. Thanks for listening, we love ya.

Premium Rush (PROJECT 42069)02 Feb 202500:46:11

Premium Rush is one of the best movies ever made, Michael Shannon is the best actor of all time, and this is my favorite episode we have ever done, that’s not just the Tito’s talking.

If the movie doesn’t interest you, don't worry because we do not talk about it at all.

Instead we talk about:

-Project 42069

-Lowe's Hotdogs

-Sitting Shitta

-Rutter’s Crab Cakes

-The new definition of "happy ending"

-The Superior Chili

we'll see you for Wednesday's episode. Thank for listening, we love ya

Bush Snake Moan29 Jan 202500:31:47

Welp, we left it to you guys to pick a movie for Wednesday’s episode and it was split right down the middle 50/50 between Bushwhacked and Black Snake Moan. Instead of flipping a coin like we planned to do originally, we elected to reimagine the plot of Bushwhacked with Samuel L Jackson’s character from Black Snake Moan playing the main character instead of Daniel Stern. We also decided to release it immediately.

If that doesn’t interest you, no worries because we also talk about:

-the original BK stackers from 2006

-Justin Timberlake ghosting the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital once the cameras stopped rolling

-local ambulance chaser Mike Slocumb, his odd face, and his arch nemesis David Fastjizz

If none of that interests you, our podcast probably isn’t for you and that’s okay.

Leave us a review/rating, send us a screenshot, and we will talk horribly about an enemy of your choosing on the next show.

eyes wide shut 05 Jun 202500:53:55

roll up a jeffery and spiral with us into the cold, horny void of Eyes Wide Shut

Stanley Kubrick’s final, bleak whisper about sex, power, and the death rattle of meaning. We follow Tom Cruise as he sleepwalks through a city that might not exist, chasing shadows, fantasies, and the illusion that anyone really knows or loves him. We breakdown how Nicole Kidman delivers monologues with the cadence of asthmatic, wheelchair-bound Stevie from Malcolm in the Middle. We wonder how anyone could belong to a sex-cult when post nut clarity exists. We come to the conclusion that this movie is 2 and half hours of Tom Cruise getting hardcore cuckolded.

Carry On26 Jan 202500:31:51

Listen, over the course of this podcast it has become a bit of a running bit for me to claim any movie that I don’t enjoy as “the worst movie I’ve ever seen”.

So, I want to be perfectly clear and let you all know that when I say this is actually the worst movie I’ve ever seen, it’s not a bit. It is not hyperbole. This movie is an abomination, an affront on the senses. An insult to the viewer’s intelligence. The acting is abysmal and the plot is horrendous. Whoever financed this steaming pile should be dragged by horses through a town square.

We also talk about:

-BGE shaming us for using the electricity that we pay for

-The process of becoming a Baltimore City police officer

-If there is a correct way to replace a roll of TP

-Billy Ray Cyrus’ net worth

-Lauren’s grandfather searching “60 year old women in leotards” on YouTube habitually

A Quiet Place: Day One19 Jan 202500:40:09

Well, I got drunk for this episode because it’s snowing heavily outside and the Lions lost last night. We do talk about the movie in this one quite a bit but we also talk about:

-Bear Grylls living in a tent across from the Outback Steakhouse in Westminster

-How easy it was to cheat on your wife as a traveling salesman in the 50’s and 60’s

-My PawPaw using his backdoor as a coin purse

- Dudu, the famous soccer player and his brother Caca

We will see you guys Wednesday. Thanks for listening, we love ya.

Escape From New York 16 Jan 202500:34:14

I’ll be honest, I’m coming down with a virus and not every episode can be a winner. Don’t listen to this if you want to hear us recap or talk about the plot of this movie at all because it doesn’t happen

Feel free to listen if you wanna hear about:

-us imagining Kurt Russell was a black guy named Kurt Hustle and he’s married to Goldie Hawn but also what if she was a trashy girl from philly named Goldie Jawn

-that time I went to an AA meeting when I was 19

- the breakdancer from Australia, Raygun, who clearly choreographed the fight scenes in this movie

- getting crossfaded while spectating a youth, rec league soccer game

Compliance (not really , we barely mention it)12 Jan 202500:31:16

The movie this week is Compliance starring the mom from Bushwhacked as a local fast food manager who makes a teenager get naked in the back room during a shift. If it doesn’t sound interesting to you, don’t worry because after the first 3 minutes it never really comes up again.

Instead we talk about: Wendy’s baked potatoes, things I could break inside me if my sphincter slammed shut, and how excited we are to try Korean bbq this coming Friday (hit us with must try dishes in the comments plz)

Thanks for listening, we love ya

A Simple Plan08 Jan 202500:50:46

Life is really all about questions you ask yourself and right now you need to ask yourself if you want to see Billy Bob Thornton playing a mentally challenged guy (typecast again), dressed like he plays bass in a Midwest emo band while he and Bill Paxton try to steal millions of dollars from a crashed plane.

It is the best movie we’ve watched for this podcast and the best one I’ve seen in years, no joke. That’s not just 50 OZ of natty daddy and several gummies talking, I promise.

Thanks for listening, we love ya like Billy Bob loves playing special people.

Quest for Cheese 12 Dec 202400:34:35

As you may have seen on our Instagram this week, tragedy struck our family.

You see, every year Lauren gets an Aldi cheese advent calendar and reviews them on her Instagram and Facebook. Tuesday night she got stoned and left it out on our dining room table. Christmas was ruined. That is, until a good samaritan from Hanover Pennsylvania reached out offering their extra advent calendar. Suddenly, our plans to do an episode on a Christmas classic flew out the window and we were left wondering what to do. We decided to do what any reasonable podcast hosts would do:

We hooked the podcast stuff up in the car and we were off on the quest for cheese.

(Sorry it ends abruptly, my laptop spazzed)

tiptoes31 May 202501:06:36

this morning we took a psychedelic stumble (shoutout to UK Cheese 🧀) into tiptoes

a movie so catastrophically misjudged, it feels like a prank on both hollywood and the concept of good taste. we unpack the in’s and out’s of dwarves at the chinese buffet (yes, including plate strategy), pitch our new reality TV obsession little women: baltimore, ponder if a dead dwarf would be enough to fill a single vulture’s stomach, and try to wrap our melted brains around the fact that gary oldman plays a dwarf… by walking on his knees. that’s not a joke. that’s the movie.

what follows is a chaotic spiral into stunt casting, Peter Dinklage as a horny French marxist , and a script that feels like it was written immediately following a severe concussion.

buckle up. this one’s got short kings, long silences, and a truly cursed performance that no one asked for.

Hey guys, doing something new here.

Each week we're gonna pick one letter from you guys and read it. Normally we would discuss it too but I am flying solo on this one. This letter came all the way from Altoona Pennsylvania and is a fiery defense of canned ham.

Patriot’s Day04 Dec 202400:31:41

Surprise drop on Tuesday night instead of Wednesday but there’s some things you need to know:

1) let’s just get this out of the way, I’m sorry for the words I use to describe Mark Wahlberg in this episode. I’ll be asking the pope for forgiveness.

2) I need someone to draw Mark Wahlberg as the Mothman so I can make a hoodie for myself out of it

3) Old Fezziwig® is a spiced brown ale that balances sweet toffee and rich, dark caramel notes with subtle holiday spices like ginger and orange peel. Pure goodness – no baking required. Stock up – Old Fezziwig® Ale won’t last

4) we’ll see you next Monday, we love ya. We hope you have a great week, we appreciate all the messages and listens more than you know. It’s very fun to do this even if we are only doing this podcast to fund our true passions: drinking with crows and leading immigrants through the green card process

The Substance (I have kidney stones and my peepee hurts bad)02 Dec 202400:38:44

We were gonna do a long episode on the Lethal Weapon series but Friday I started having some wicked pain downstairs. After a lengthy interrogation of Lauren and the brief administration of a polygraph (which she passed), I saw a doctor and it turns out that I don't have a UTI or STD. Instead, I can find comfort in the fact that my pain is due to tiny shards ripping their way out of my member. This episode probably sucks but Lauren did a good job of carrying it and also being a faithful partner. We'll see you guys on Wednesday

a lot of new listeners this week so if you’re new here, thanks for getting in on the ground floor here. To all the OG crows, thanks for holding down the fort. we love you all and think it’s very cool that a bunch of strangers care what we think about movies, hoagies, aliens, fifi’s, and the geographical location of Sarasota Florida.

Jingle All The Way20 Nov 202400:41:16

Well guys, this whole episode is a mixed bag of emotions. On one hand, this is my favorite movie of all time. On the other hand, Lauren hates this movie. On the other, other hand my own personal 9/11 has happened and may god have mercy on Peter Cancro’s soul. We love you and thank you for listening.

“This is a sick world we’re living in. Sick people”

Investigation Alien18 Nov 202400:34:32

Hey folks, kind of a weird one here.

We were going to release a holiday movie episode today but given recent happenings in the news and UFO space, we felt it prudent this past weekend to lock ourselves inside and consume a ton of rick simpson oil while watching alien documentaries. These are the sacrifices you make when you’re an artist.

To be honest, we barely talk about aliens. We mostly speak about hoagies, getting drunk, hangovers, 1950’s housewife anatomy and which NSFW subreddit we visit once a week to gasp at. We have a normal, movie-based episode dropping Wednesday so we’ll see you then. We really appreciate everyone listening and all of the messages have been super cool.

Stay safe, stay stoned, and watch movies

Trap13 Nov 202400:31:05
Trap is a 2024 American psychological thriller film written, directed, and produced by M. Night Shyamalan. It’s named after what it feels like to sit down and watch this movie. And then when you’re 45 minutes in, you hit pause to see how much more you have to endure and to your horror, there’s an hour left. This movie could’ve ended at the hour mark and it wouldn’t have changed the plot whatsoever. Truly one of those flicks that makes you feel robbed of precious moments on this Earth. Having said that, if you want to see Kid Cudi dressed like Ashley Schaeffer this is the film for you. Anywho, skip the first 5 mins or so if you don’t want to hear about how I earned my new nickname, Mr. Piss. If you don’t want to hear Lauren correct me time and time again for being a poorly educated, ignorant man with small world views, you’ll need to skip the remaining 25 minutes
Spiderman with Brian Ruppert from Reviewing History and TESD Town11 Nov 202401:21:06

**calling all ants**

Well guys, first thing I am going to do is apologize if the audio sounds a little weird. I spent most of the weekend trying to fix where it sounds a little “skippy” and I think this is as good as it’s going to get. Who would’ve guessed that a podcast run by stoners would have a few audio hiccups on the first remotely recorded episode? Special thanks to @brian_ruppert from @tesdtown and @reviewinghistorypod for joining us. We had a great time discussing the first spiderman movie for about 5 minutes. The remaining hour and change was spent discussing well endowed actors, well endowed actors on paddleboards, the jets, 9/11, and Tobey Maguire being a sociopath. Please also ignore the fact that I spend quite a bit of this episode talking about Colin Farrell being naked on a paddle board and in looking for photos to post, I discovered it was actually Orlando Bloom.

Also! Brian’s podcast is phenomenal and you should give it listen. Speaking of phenomenal, at the stroke of midnight on black friday, his pod drops their Christmas Freak Off on Bandcamp. For the low, low price of $5, you get two podcasts. One is full of games, guests, and holiday cheer and the second is a review of Die Hard. Head over to the bandcamp link below and hit follow so you get a notification when it drops and grab last year’s while you’re at it since half of the proceeds go to St Jude’s.

The Last Descent 06 Nov 202400:36:34

This is about that guy who got stuck in the cave in Utah but to be honest it's a lot of talk about soaking. We also touch on mormonism, the poophole loophole, robotripping, driving while robotripping, and jon jones

thanks for listening, we appreciate it, special thanks to everyone who subscribed on spotify/apple when instagram was trifling. it's the best time of the year, watch jingle all the way and think of us while you do it. maybe give soaking a try. stay safe, stay stoned, and watch movies

spun 29 May 202500:59:03

buckle up and crush your meds: this week on the weedcap, we dive face-first into what might be the craziest movie ever made — spun. m3th , adult cartoon sequences, mickey rourke, and more seizure editing than you can shake a pipe at.

lauren and caleb try (and fail) to follow the plot while tripping over speed-induced hallucinations, floating tiddies, and a soundtrack that smells like trucker sweat and monster energy.

this ain’t just a movie — it’s a 90-minute panic attack with a nu-metal heartbeat. join us as we ask: is spun cinema, or is it just a felony in widescreen?

State of The Weedcap (sorry, we're drunk)04 Nov 202400:49:31

edible underwear, 24 hour walmarts, the north hanover chinese buffet, subway, and paper towel fortresses. damn, these glasses of Christmas ale got me feeling scrumptious. if i went to the chinese buffet right now, they would speak my name in whispers for centuries to come.

This is my favorite episode we've done and there isn't even a movie of the week. also, obviously, don't drive drunk unless the world ends and there's some sort of i am legend type situation. at that point you should be drunk any time you put the keys in that car.

MaXXXine28 Oct 202400:41:25

MaXXXine was pretty good, visually you could not ask for a better movie. The color tones and all look incredible. We both enjoyed it with our Saturday morning wake and bake. Only gripe is that for a movie about the adult entertainment industry, there is a criminally low amount of lady bits. Even Lauren was begging for some tiddies by the end. I had to show her mine.

We’ll see you guys on Halloween when we drop our next episode. Stay safe, stay stoned, and watch movies.

Halloween 3: Season of the Witch 21 Oct 202400:23:45

not gonna lie, this one is low energy as hell. we've discovered tonight that sunday nights just aren't made for podcasting when you gotta go back to work on monday. excited to drop a better one next week for you guys and yep, the word on the street is true. starting in november, a second episode will drop weekly on wednesdays at 4:20 PM. This movie was pretty crazy (shoutout Craig). we also talk about bj frequency, polaroids, and milkmen. we both give this a 5/10 and you should watch it as a little seasonal treat. stay safe, stay stoned, and watch movies

Hellraiser (and bird genitalia)14 Oct 202400:36:12

Shoutout to Craig from Sinister Screen for recommending this, it was a first viewing for both of us. Unfortunately, I went way too deep on the edibles while we watched and got super uncomfy. Lauren held down the fort though.

My thoughts: I don't know exactly what I want to see while I can barely open my eyes but I know it isn't hooks going into a man's flesh. 4/10

Lauren's thoughts: I thought it was a very good Halloween movie and I enjoyed it alot. 6/10

We'll see you guys next week. Let us know what other quintessential horror movies we need to watch. Stay safe, stay stoned, and watch movies. We love ya
