We get you ready for the first full week of February covering local entertainment options, recreation and parks offerings, and a large art and craft festival, too. Get a piece of paper and a pen out to write down some of these community happenings. 

There are a lot of options available to you this week within The Villages when it comes to live concerts and performances to a celebration of wedded bliss and a weekend train show and sale. It takes less than seven minutes to cover just some of the exciting things going on around this active community and hopefully you can find a few to add to your weekly calendar. 

Fencing, quilts, Vintage items, magic and so much more. You will have a lot to choose from this week around this active community and we have the details for you. On the live entertainment front, you can enjoy a musical at The Studio Theatre, support local residents in Evolution Dance and take part in an Electric Light Party, too. Plus, you can enjoy some beautiful art work while getting some exercise outside. 

**UPDATE: The Electric Light Party originally scheduled for Fri., Jan. 24 at Lake Sumter Landing has been rescheduled, due to inclement weather. It will now be held Fri., Feb. 28 at Lake Sumter Landing.** 

It's going to be a week filled with activity, music and lots of fun. You can learn about the sport of fencing, participate in twirling on the square, attend an outdoor concert and movie, plus go to a cruise in. On the music front, hear the sounds of the Beatles, watch a high-flying cultural performance, laugh during a musical, and take in a cabaret, too. There are lots of music options to usher in 2025 this week ranging from the sounds of Phantom of the Opera to ABBA and The Texas Tenors to The Spinners and even more. The sounds of Barry Manilow, Tina Turner, The Platters and Neil Diamond can be heard this week at entertainment venues in this community, and we have those details for you. If you are looking to spread some holiday joy this year, the annual Gift of Giving event is going on across three straight days, once at each square, to collect donation for various local charities. We will share the participating nonprofits and suggested donations, too. We'll also get you ready for the annual Christmas Model Train Show pulling into the community this week. Plus, you have two opportunities to attend car shows, as well.  

The first week of December brings with it even more holiday happenings. Multiple tree lightings, and an annual Christmas parade, are coming your way. Monday, November 11 is Veterans Day and there are several events going on around this community and we have those details to start off this episode. Community fun continues with an Electric Light Party and the monthly cruise in. The Villages Recreation & Parks invites you to Tai Chi on the Square and the latest speaker series. From multiple car shows to a bike challenge to lots of art and craft themed happenings there is lots to pick from this week. We are also joined by Dr. Shai Efrati who shares details of his new book about enhanced medicine, while also diving into what Aviv Clinics has to offer you. They invite residents to an open house going on next week. And on the music front, local performers turn into heroes and villains, while a prolific soul and R&B group visits this community. 

The 2024 The Villages Heritage Festival at Brownwood Paddock Square has been moved to this week after Hurricane Milton, and we have those fun details for you. It will leave the audience laughing, unexpectedly surprised, and with a newfound appreciation for the joy of living life to the fullest. On the recreation front, try intro to beach tennis, learn about "Mindful Eating in the Nutrition Realm," and give bean bag baseball a toss. 

All aboard! Start off your week at the Camp Villages Train Show and see some incredible layouts in one location. We also have details about an annual school supply drive, and plenty of recreation and parks fun going on. There will be a sunset social, touch tennis, a fishing presentation, and small group lessons, too. A few tribute concerts are in town with the sounds of Billy Joel to Phil Collins. Sunset Socials continue to get residents outdoors to experience what this community has to offer. The first official day of summer is here, and we get you ready for The Big Splash, as well as, Yoga on the Square. A resident lifestyle group invites you to their latest performance featuring some pirates, Victorian maidens, and more. Plus, the Leesburg Lightning have three games this week too. 

Last week was filled with ribbon cutting events from recreation facilities to Blondie's, a new outdoor bar in Spanish Springs. Camp Villages summer fun begins this week and continues with nine straight weeks of activities for grandparents and their grandchildren to enjoy together. First off, congratulations to the more than 2,100 residents who participated in the 21st edition of The Villages Senior Games! Bowling is the final activity on the schedule. There are two Friday Night Car Shows this week and at the end of the week, it's time for a Cinco de Mayo celebration. Keep the music going with two tribute concerts, Evolution Motown, and a local student production. The Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center turns ninth and you are invited to a celebration on Tuesday. We have those details for you. Let 2024 The Villages Senior Games action begin! Resident athletes will be competing in various sports throughout the community this month as they strive to earn a spot at the Florida Senior Games.
