In todays episode we head across the Pacific and take a deep dive into the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation.
Often referred to as the "American Big Game System.”
Designed to preserve game populations while ensuring sustainable hunting, this system has shaped wildlife policy in the United States and Canada for over a century.
We explore tags and how they play into the seven core principles of this model, how it differs from Australia's fragmented approach to game management, and what lessons — and warnings — we can draw from it.
Whether you're a seasoned Aussie hunter, a conservation advocate, or just passionate about the future management of pest and game species down under, this episode is a must-listen.
In the coming weeks we launch off this USA themed podcast and cover topics such as How to apply for tags, planning to hunt elk, deer, antelope, moose and more!

Welcome back to the Twin Elements Podcast.
In todays episode we’re focusing solely on bedded shots on boars.
Whether with bow or rifle these close quarter encounters, often with reduced shots angles on hidden or obstructed pigs requires plenty of thought. All whilst demanding top quality gear.
After a recent adventure with Dingo Creek Hunting in Australia’s NT, where we chased banteng and boars across the floodplains of Cobourg peninsula.
We quickly realised that a theme of the trip would be bedded shots on boars.
Pairing the hot conditions, limited water sources and tendency of boars to seek shade, this was how we found feral pigs.

Episode 15 | Released: 14th April 2025
Welcome back to the Twin Elements Podcast.
In this episode we discuss a heated topic and one that always has differing opinions.
We talk about eating wild game such as feral pigs, goats, buffalo and deer.
All of which can have the potential to harbour and spread disease.
However, in this podcast we also run you through a few strategies and steps that we perform to help ensure the safest possible quality meat in our freezers and reduce risk elimination.
We will identify and list certain bacteria and other organisms which can infect these animals and the important diseases that they can transmit to humans.
We run you through the very true and apparent risks of eating these wild animals, mainly to make you aware that they exist.
Then we will go through step by step to help you reduce your anxiety and understand how to safely mitigate those risks.
Whilst we live and breathe this sort of stuff in our daily professions as Veterinarians, and also eat majority of the meat we hunt for ourselves.
It is worth stating that this episode is simply a guide to wild game meat and the diseases that it may harbour.
Eating wild game meats should be done at your own risk.
This podcast should only act as a thought provoker and a basis for your meat harvesting desires.
Everything mentioned within this podcast should be diligently fact checked to ensure your own piece of mind heading into the field and feeding your friends and family.

Welcome to the Twin Elements Podcast.
We keep it light on during this episode, and give a brief introduction to your hosts, Ayden and James Doumtsis.
We discuss our upcoming release schedule for the early part of 2025 as well as filling the gaps as to how we rounded out 2024.
We introduce the FAQ or frequently asked questions segment and start with two questions that we get asked quite a lot across our socials.
Youtube Releases:
Fallow Frenzy -This is a five part series showcasing the highlights of the fallow deer rut. We follow close friend Nicholas Morton as he searches for his target buck. Dropping from mid February!
Against All Odds - This elk bowhunting VLOG takes place in Montana and continues from off the back of the cinematic film we released in late 2024. This 5- 10 Part series aims to fill the gaps and tell more of the story, which couldn’t be shared in the 30 minute highlight film we released earlier. Dropping in late March!
Buffalo Bowhunt - Two films hunting Asiatic water buffalo and feral pigs in Australia’s Northern Territory. Each hunt utilises different tactics as one falls during the dry season and the other a late hunt during the build up, just prior to the wet season. Dropping in May!
Banteng & Boar Bowhunt - This four part series is set to be the most action packed bowhunting we have ever released! This hunt takes place in Australia’s most rugged, remote frontier targeting some incredible animals. We hunt banteng bulls and manage to capitalise on some of the best wild boar bowhunting we have ever experienced! Period. Dropping in July!

In today’s episode we’re revisiting one of our best and longest hunting adventures to date!
This is a bit of a throwback to September 2023 where the boys slogged it out for twenty odd days hunting elk in a limited entry unit in Montana USA.

However we wanted to jump in a little bit deeper and re live some of those stories from the trip.
We have good news, if you like this podcast and loved the cinematic film, then in the next couple months we will be releasing an 8 part VLOG styled film series from this hunt with plenty more footage and behind the scenes clips.
Stay tuned for that one.
