how to "go with the flow" and let go of rigid routines26 Jun 202300:30:02

Hey twentysomething!

Welcome to episode 16 of the Twenties Detox (S1.E16) ~ where we talk about all the struggles of early adulthood and develop better mindsets for growth and healing.

To begin, Bianca starts off by telling us all about her trip to Florida with her friends as well as her Italy trip. She was so excited to explore the great lakes and visit her Nonna's hometown, but guess what? Total bummer alert—her luggage didn't make it to Italy :/ Ever had that happen to you? You buy all these cute outfits, all ready to show them off, and then bam! Disaster strikes. But hold up – Bianca had a realization.

She was like, "Hey, in 20 years, who the heck cares what I wore in Italy? I'll remember the amazing conversations I had with the people on the tour, the overwhelming emotions I felt seeing Nonna's childhood home, and the sheer beauty of those lakes and mountains. That cute dress? Not gonna be a memory worth keeping." And just like that, she moved on.

In the past, going with the flow (which always involves change) felt impossible to do. As a person so used to rigid routines conditioned from school and work, "letting go" was one of the hardest things to do for Bianca. In this episode she will share the revelations she had along the way to develop this better mindset, as well as the 4 main benefits of how to improves our life in our 20s by going with the flow of life.

Sit back and relax, and I hope you enjoy.

Welcome to episode 15 of the Twenties Detox (S1.E15) ~ where we talk about all the struggles of early adulthood and develop better mindsets for growth and healing.

Today, we have another retrospective reflections episode! You may remember the episode I recorded a few months ago with my great aunt Reena, where we discussed overcoming life's challenges through perseverance and faith. Today, I am honored to have someone who possesses the same level of strength and determination, as well as the Norwegian grit that runs in our family. Mary Brown is Reena’s younger sister, and despite growing up in the same household, their personalities couldn't be more different! Mary has always been someone who has shown me what it truly means to live life to the fullest. She even has the sign ā€œcarpe diemā€ hanging outside which isĀ  a latin saying to seize the day. Her unwavering positivity and infectious laughter have brought immense light to my family, and in a world that can often feel overwhelming, her example provides invaluable lessons on how to lead a long, healthy, and happy life. So, without further ado, I am thrilled to welcome my wonderful grandmother, well we call her Granny Mary, to the podcast.

How to Build Killer Confidence in Your First Job After College03 Dec 202400:17:12

Landing your first job after college can feel like an exhausting, demoralizing experience—but what should you do if you haven’t figured out your passion yet?

In this episode, I’m breaking down why rushing to ā€œfind your purposeā€, and fix all your weaknesses, might actually hold you back. Whereas, focusing on your strengths can lead to success, confidence, and new opportunities.

0:50 - The one mindset that’s destroying your self-esteem
4:30 - Why starting in a job you’re good at is the smartest move
5:45 - A behind-the-scenes look at my first job out of university
10:20 - How focusing on your strengths can open doors you didn’t expect

Instead of forcing a purpose, choose a path where your skills shine. It’s not just about finding the ā€œright jobā€ā€”it’s about building confidence, freeing up time to explore what you love, and keeping your self-esteem strong as you navigate adulthood.

The Summer I Started Aligning with the Sun and Trees | Seasonal Living Series07 Jul 202600:24:04

There was a specific summer where I stopped fighting the season and started actually listening to it. And honestly, everything shifted after that. šŸŒž

In this episode, I am getting into what it really means to live seasonally, and specifically what summer is asking of you right now. We are talking about Q2 reflections, why summer is actually one of the best times to pivot instead of push harder, how social media can quietly pull you away from your own values if you are not paying attention, and the gardening analogy that completely changed how I think about goals.

This episode is part of the Seasonal Living Series, and it might be the most grounding one yet!! This one is for you if you have been feeling a shift in your energy lately and you are not quite sure what to do with it.

This Is Your Sign to Start Before You Feel Ready28 Apr 202600:12:22

You've planned the calendar. Colour-coded the to-do list. Set up the system. And somehow still haven't done the thing.

There's a version of procrastination that looks exactly like hard work from the outside, and it might be the sneakiest thing keeping you stuck.

In this episode, we're talking about why spring is the season to finally call yourself out on it, let go of the perfect plan, and start before you feel ready.

Do it messy. Do it anyway.

If you clicked on this, you already know why. 🩵

Five years ago, I graduated with a degree in Forensic Science and knew almost immediately that it wasn't the path for me.

So I moved back home, and spent the next 2-3 years rediscovering myself. My passions. What actually made me feel alive. It was messy. It was uncomfortable. And nobody really talks about that part too much.

The Twenties Detox started as a simple blog post during that season, and slowly became something so much more.

This video is my attempt to make you feel a little less alone. To be the big sister who sits across from you and says: you are not behind. You are not failing. Everything IS and WILL be okay.
