Prime Minister Mark Carney co-hosted the Inuit-Crown Partnership Committee on Thursday in Inuvik with Natan Obed, president of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatamisat, and based on all reports, the event appears to have been a success.

However, that may have much to do with different structures that apply to the North and the unique status of Nunavut, both as an Inuit-led jurisdiction and the most recently established province or territory in Canada.

Toni has been writing songs for 51 years, has five albums to her credit with the sixth one on the way. She also composed and performed the song "Bonnie", which has been getting a lot of attention and has been chosen to be the official campaign song of independent candidate for Battle River- Crowfoot Bonnie Critchley.

We talk about songwriting, coming into one's own as an artist, the political nature of folk music, and what it's like when one's art captures a moment.
