The Fearless Fund, which awarded $20,000 grants specifically to Black women-led businesses, shut its Striver’s grant as part of a settlement in its appeals case.


Oprah Winfrey did an ABC special on artificial intelligence, and OpenAI’s Sam Altman seemed to remove some of her skepticism about AI.


And Amazon orders all of its corporate employees back into the office 5 days per week starting in January.

The iPhone 14 launch isn’t going that smoothly for Apple. iMessage and Facetime aren’t working for many after activation, some 14 Pro and Pro Max freeze after data transfers, and there are a lot of videos of the 48-megapixel camera acting weird with third-party apps.


Uber confirmed that it took several key systems down in response to a cybersecurity breach allegedly perpetrated by an 18-year-old hacker.


And Customs & Border Protection can access your cell phones and other electronic devices without a warrant and even copy data and hold it for years. Here are a few ways you can protect yourself when traveling internationally.

A federal judge sided with a Cleveland State University student stating that scanning his room before an online test violated his 4th Amendment rights.


And yes, the computer-generated, virtual avatar, FN Meka, created by two non-black executives which leans into racist stereotypes and tropes, is a form of digital blackface.

Apple wants employees back in the office for a hybrid work week, but, some employees want to remain remote.  Something has got to give, but, we don’t think it's going to be Apple.


A husband of a slain wife is sentenced to 65 years in prison after her Fitbit data told a different story about how and when she was murdered.


We thought facial recognition policy was bad in the United States but, New Delhi police say hold my beer.  It uses data with an only 80% match threshold as evidence for potential prosecution.


And Big Data and AI-powered chatbots are enhancing the college experience helping with everything from admissions to recognizing signs of depression.

Apple doesn’t want any supply chain disruption in China over Made in Taiwan labels so it's asking its Taiwanese-based suppliers to add Made in China labeling to their products.


TikTok’s contracted moderators are allegedly requiring employees to watch actual child abuse videos as part of its training program.


Technology exists to determine if a child has been left behind in a locked car to help prevent hot car deaths, but, the battle for years has been to get auto manufacturers to implement it.


And the video social media platform Triller wooed Black creators with the promise of monthly payments and equity in the company, but, slow payments and no payments, according to program participants have been a problem since the program's inception.
