The Chameleon is in New York to stop a peace treaty signing, and this criminal is so dangerous that Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D recruit J. Jonah Jameson to help them. But that probably won't be enough, considering he's kind of a worthless idiot, so hopefully Spider-Man can help too!

"Spider-Man: The Animated Series" featured an episode titled "The Day of the Chameleon," which originally aired on January 22, 1995, as part of the first season. In this episode, Spider-Man faces a formidable adversary known as the Chameleon.

On the finale, Strange asks Cap Car for some help defeating a villain. But this is Strange Supreme, who can be an even bigger a-hole than Strange Classic. Will the timeline be able to make it out alive?

This week on The Superhero Show, the hosts dive into Cadillacs and Dinosaurs episode 1.10, “Pursuit.” In this intense chapter, Jack Tenrec finds himself framed for a crime he didn’t commit and forced into a desperate chase to clear his name. What begins as a confrontation with the notorious poacher Hammer quickly spirals into a story of corruption, betrayal, and a relentless pursuit across both the city and the wilderness.

“Pursuit” kicks off late at night at the docks of the City in the Sea. Hammer Terhune attempts to steal a powerful piece of heavy equipment—a massive pile driver that could be turned into a dangerous poaching weapon. Jack arrives just in time to confront him, and the two rivals immediately clash in a brutal fight among the crates and machinery.

However, the confrontation takes a turn when the alarm is triggered and Hammer escapes the scene. Instead of catching the criminal, Jack is suddenly placed under arrest by Captain Noc, who accuses him of being responsible for the theft. The hosts highlight how this moment flips the usual dynamic of the show: Jack isn’t chasing the villain—he’s suddenly the one being hunted.

The next morning, Jack faces the city council in court. Captain Noc’s testimony paints Jack as an accomplice in the pile driver theft, and the evidence seems stacked against him. Despite his protests, Jack is found guilty and sentenced to punishment.

With Jack on the run, Wilhelmina Scharnhorst escalates the situation by hiring a relentless bounty hunter named Brink. Brink is tasked with capturing Jack and bringing him back to face justice.

The hosts discuss how Brink becomes one of the episode’s most interesting additions. Unlike many characters in the series, he isn’t driven by greed or ideology—he’s simply doing his job. This creates a tense cat-and-mouse dynamic as Brink repeatedly catches up to Jack during the pursuit, forcing Jack to explain that Hammer is the real criminal.

Meanwhile, Hannah Dundee begins her own investigation. Suspicious of Captain Noc’s story, she searches for evidence that could expose the real culprit and prove Jack’s innocence.

Jack’s pursuit eventually leads him deep into the wilderness, where he discovers the poachers’ hidden base. The stolen pile driver is already being used to power dangerous operations. At the same time, Brink finally catches up to Jack, leading to another confrontation between the fugitive mechanic and the determined bounty hunter.

However, when Jack reveals the truth about Hammer’s plan, Brink begins to question the orders he was given. Soon the situation escalates into chaos as poachers attempt to eliminate both men by dropping them into pits filled with deadly slithers. Jack manages to turn the tables, rescuing Brink and proving that Hammer is the true villain.

The episode culminates with Jack destroying the poachers’ base and stopping their operation. With the evidence finally clear, Brink arrests Hammer and the truth comes to light.

By the end of “Pursuit,” Jack’s name is cleared and the real criminals are brought to justice. The hosts reflect on how this episode stands out because it flips the usual formula of the series. Instead of protecting the city from outside threats, Jack must fight the system itself while racing to expose corruption.

On an all-new, all-different episode of The Superhero Show Show, the Taste Buds are taking the week off of watching stuff, so they can instead watch each other stuff themselves, and instead try to get caught up on the Shushies, the annual awards handed out to the best in comic book based television.

Cassie, Mike, Mackenna, and Ryan have three awards to give out before they can return to their leftovers, which is where they recreate the HBO show The Leftovers using Thanksgiving leftovers. Best Couple, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.

So far, it's been a DC heavy year, with two cartoons, Harley Quinn and My Adventures With Superman taking a lot of attention. This week on The Superhero Show, the hosts return to the world of Cadillacs and Dinosaurs to unpack episode 1.09, “Remembrance.” In this emotionally charged chapter, the past refuses to stay buried as long-lost technology, painful memories, and old-world ambitions collide. Unlike the jungle-heavy action of previous episodes, Remembrance shifts focus inward—forcing Jack Tenrec and the residents of Sea City to confront history itself.

The hosts dive into how the episode stages this conflict not just through dialogue, but through escalating stakes as ancient systems threaten to destabilize the fragile ecosystem Sea City depends on.

The Taste Buds review the first two episodes of Invincible season 2, plus The Marvels, and so much more, on an all-new Superhero Show Show!

On an all-new, all-different episode of The Superhero Show Show, the Taste Buds are weighing in on Invincible season 2, while also talking themselves off of the "MCU is dead" ledge and convince each other that The Marvels isn't that bad.

The first episode of the new season of Invincible had a lot of heavy lifting to do, with what's left of the Grayson family picking up the pieces after the betrayal of Nolan, aka Omni-Man. The second one doesn't forgo all of that, but it does remind viewers that the show can also be one of the funniest superhero satires of all time, relaying more on creativity and character than fourth wall breaking and snark.

Hard to tell so far, but we're off to a good start. The Taste Buds help each other remember what happened in the first season (thanks "previously on's!"), pick out their favorite funny moments, and slobber over the subtle voice work being done here, particularly by Sandra Oh.

Then, Ryan and Mike went to see The Marvels this week, and they might have been the only ones. They attempt to put the speed bumps the MCU is going through aside and discuss the quality of the film, which is nowhere near as bad as anyone has heard. However, it is probably time for the content-factory approach, with the fix-it-in-post attitude, to go by the wayside. It's probably also time to stop not putting Iman Vellani in everything they make.

And if they do, will they be able to get back to a parade? Will Doom Patrol be able to find that focus that so many other shows lose when they hit the home stretch? It's finally time for Loki Season 2!!! It's time for the return of Tom Hiddleston! It's time for the return of what seems to be the spine of the current Marvel storyline! And it seems like it should be time to get some clues as to what Marvel is going to do about their Jonathan Majors problem!

Ummm....that's not the easiest question ever asked. Loki season 2 picks up right after the first season left off. Loki is still in the TVA, and he is just as confused as we are. Nobody, including Mobius and B-15, recognize Loki, which means he must be in a different multiverse. BECAUSE OF COURSE HE IS. Eventually, Loki and Mobius get on the same page, and realize that the only person that can help them is Ouroboros, or OB, played by recent Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan! Now it's time for a dangerous mission, and the MCU is back, baby!

The Shushies continue, and it's time to hand out the award for Best Villain of the year! Last year's winner, Homelander, didn't appear in any episodes in 2023, so it's time for a whole new winner, or loser, because he is so bad!

It's the Gen V series premiere, plus Scorpion on SM-TAS, and so much more, on an all-new Superhero Show Show!

The Gen V series premiere is here! The Boys, Amazon Prime's smash critical and commercial hit, is finally getting a spin-off show! The Gen V series premiere introduces us to God U, the number one superhero academy in the whole Boys universe. Here, young students can become television stars, detectives, or maybe even have a shot at one day joining the Seven.

In the first two episodes, which are covered on this podcast, we meet Marie, who killed her family when puberty brought her superpowers; Cricket, who is a YouTube star in addition to a supes wannabe; and Golden Boy, played by an actor with a very famous last name.

The Boys has a history of splitting the pod down gender lines, with the two boys loving it, and the two girls finding it offensive. Will Gen V do the same? Or will the girls find it slightly more appealing? Created by the creators of The Boys, but with some CW writers thrown in for good measure, maybe Gen V has more of a balance that everyone can enjoy? Maybe?

Next, it's time for Shushie season. The annual awards show for the best in comic book-based television begins here with the best ensemble cast of 2023. Last year's steamroller, Resident Alien, which won the Best Ensemble award, didn't air any new episodes this year, so it's anyone's game. In fact, none of the shows that we're nominated last year, including The Boys, Legends of Tomorrow, Loki, and Peacemaker, are elegible, so good luck to the five new nominees, all of which will be revealed in this episode!

Only one other show came out this week, so it's another short Pull List, as Norman Reedus continues his ride through France on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.

Finally, the Taste Buds returns to S-TAZmania to watch another episode of Spider-Man: The Animated Series, titled The Sting of the Scorpion! J. Jonah Jameson has hired absolute loser Mac Gargan to follow Peter Parker, in order to figure out what his connection to Spider-Man is. But when Gargan fails too many times, Jameson and a scientist decide to just throw Mac into a Super Scorpion Soldier-maker, and turn him into a monster.

It's finally time for the One Piece podcast! The Taste Buds have finally worked up the nerve, and found the time, to watch, Netflix's late summer hit, and are ready to tell the world what they think. Manga doesn't often make the jump to live action, therefore it doesn't often appear on the podcast. Does that mean the Taste Buds are going to be in the dark? Or is this going to open up a whole new world for them?

One Piece tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat pirates, as they search for the One Piece, a treasure that will make Luffy the King of the Pirates. Unfortunately, there's still a writer's strike going on, so not much movement has been made on that front. But we have heard that the scripts are ready to go into production as soon as the actors and writers get back to work!

The Taste Buds say goodbye to Superman and Lois for the year, and Gotham Knights forever!

Secret Invasion is a major Marvel Comics storyline that has been adapted into various forms of media, including comic books, television, and film. It revolves around the infiltration of Earth by a shape-shifting alien race known as the Skrulls. The storyline was first introduced in the "Secret Invasion" comic book crossover event, which spanned from 2008 to 2009.

The basic premise of Secret Invasion involves the Skrulls, a species with the ability to mimic the appearance and powers of any being, secretly replacing key individuals on Earth, including superheroes, political figures, and even close allies. This infiltration has been ongoing for years, and the Skrulls' ultimate goal is to conquer and take over the planet.

The storyline brings a sense of paranoia and distrust as heroes and humans alike struggle to identify who is a Skrull and who they can trust. Characters that readers have known for years are revealed to be impostors, leading to shocking revelations and intense conflicts. And for whatever reason, she decided to start on her path with 2013's The Wolverine. Released in the midst of the second X-Men trilogy, The Wolverine is a mostly forgotten, fairly underrated superhero movie that plays almost as much of a drama/mystery as it does an action movie (especially if you ignore the very dumb final 20 minutes).
