Disgraced toymaker Sable Wayland is accused of replacing wealthy young Etta Sterling with a robot replica, when their unlikely encounter dramatically alters the latter's behaviour. Swept up in the rumour, the paranoid little village of Pigeon Heath teeters on the brink of hysteria. Where– or who– is the real Sterling Girl?

A steampunk twist on the 'changeling child' myth performed by an all-autistic cast, The Sterling Girl is a heartfelt and occasionally horrifying love letter to art, folklore, and autistic friendship.
