Welcome back to The Starlight Frequency.This space is for those of us who are remembering who we are beneath the conditioning, the fear, and the masks we’ve worn to feel safe.
Today’s transmission is about something so many of us carry deep in our nervous systems.Can you guess what it is?
Self-abandonment.
The ways we leave ourselves behind to keep the peace.To stay loved.To avoid conflict.
We make ourselves smaller.We silence our truth.We bend into someone else’s comfort zone just to feel safe.
Take a deep breath with me.Inhale through your nose.And exhale with a soft sigh.
Now, what if that false sense of safety is actually what’s keeping us disconnected from our truth?What if every time we betray our own needs to please someone else, we teach our body that we don’t matter—when the truth is, we matter more than anything?
Let’s understand where this comes from.
Self-abandonment usually starts in childhood.Many of us grew up in environments where love felt conditional. We learned that being “good” or “easy” or “quiet” made us safe. Our nervous system began to believe that authenticity was dangerous.
So we fawn.We overgive.We anticipate other people’s needs before our own.
Not because we’re weak, but because once upon a time, it kept us safe.
The inner child inside of you truly believed:“If I make them happy, I won’t be abandoned.”“If I stay small, I’ll stay safe.”“If I don’t rock the boat, I’ll be loved.”
But what was once survival becomes suffering when we continue to live by that program. The cost of belonging becomes losing ourselves.
This was one of my deepest wounds.
I used to abandon my own needs to keep the peace.I gave until I was empty.And I thought it was love.
But it wasn’t love. It was fear.Fear of being left.Fear of being misunderstood.Fear of being too much or not enough.
When I started my healing journey, I realized that every time I said yes when my body meant no, I was telling myself that I wasn’t worthy of my own love.
The truth is, real safety doesn’t come from pleasing everyone around you.Real safety lives in self-trust.
It’s knowing that even if someone leaves, you’ll still be there for you.You can’t build authentic love on a foundation of self-betrayal.You can’t feel free when your peace depends on other people’s moods.
The moment you stop outsourcing your safety and start building it within yourself, you become untouchable. You become magnetic.
Remember this:Worth isn’t something you earn.It’s something you are.
You were born worthy before you ever had to prove, please, or perform for love.
Reclaiming that truth begins in small moments.Saying no when your body says no.Pausing before reacting and asking, “What do I actually need right now?”Letting discomfort exist without abandoning your truth.
When your heart races or your stomach tightens, that’s your inner child remembering the old script.In those moments, place your hand on your heart and whisper:
I am safe now.I don’t need to abandon myself to be loved.I am worthy, whole, and complete.
Let’s say it again together.I am safe now.I don’t need to abandon myself to be loved.I am worthy, whole, and complete.
Close your eyes with me for a moment.Take a deep inhale through your nose.Exhale through your mouth with a sigh.
Bring to mind a recent moment when you felt yourself shrinking or people-pleasing.See that younger version of you. Maybe she’s scared. Maybe she’s tired of holding it all together.
Place your hand on your heart and tell her:
I see you.I love you.You do not have to earn love anymore.You are safe to be you.
Feel the warmth spread through your chest.That’s recalibration.That’s homecoming.That’s self-reclamation.
Healing self-abandonment is about reparenting yourself.It’s remembering that you are the one you’ve been waiting for.You deserve love, support, and peace simply because you exist.
As you anchor this truth, your relationships will shift.Some people may fall away. Others will rise to meet your new frequency.Through it all, you’ll stay centered because your worth no longer depends on anyone else.
You are not too much for standing in your truth.You are not selfish for choosing yourself.You are sacred for honoring your needs.
When you love yourself that deeply, abandonment becomes impossible.
Take one final breath with me.Inhale through your nose into your heart.Exhale with a sigh.
Whisper to yourself:
I am safe.I am worthy.I am home within myself.
