213: The Courage to Be Misunderstood: How to Use Your Past to Move Forward02 sept. 202600:18:57

Have you ever dimmed your own voice just to keep the peace? In this episode, Lianne unpacks why the path to living as your true self almost always requires the courage to be misunderstood — and how the moments you overrode your own intuition are actually a map back to yourself.

She shares an honest look at growing up feeling "different," the quiet pressure to perform certainty on every trending topic, and why the people closest to you may (unintentionally) discourage your growth. You'll learn how to spot the physical "threshold" feeling that shows up right before you talk yourself out of what you already know to be true — and why revisiting those past moments is the key to making more aligned choices going forward.

This episode is for the woman who has a good life and still feels like she's disappeared a little inside it.

  • Why the pressure to have a public opinion on everything can pull you away from your own inner voice
  • A networking-event story about a woman criticized for writing a book — and what it reveals about differing "levels" of consciousness, not better or worse, just different
  • How childhood and teenage experiences of feeling "out of place" quietly teach us to override intuition
  • Why suppressed intuition becomes an embedded pattern that requires intentional reprogramming
  • How to use past moments — and the physical sensation that came with them — to recognize when you're standing at a new threshold
  • The difference between fear-based hesitation and genuine intuitive guidance
  • Why being misunderstood (even seen as "the villain") is sometimes the cost of no longer abandoning yourself

How can you tell the difference between fear-based hesitation and genuine intuitive guidance when you're standing at a threshold in your own life?

Resistance from the people around you often reflects their own fears — not a flaw in your path.

212: Fear-Based vs. Intentional Decisions: Are You Planning the Holidays from the Wrong Place?26 août 202600:24:11

A thread I posted almost by accident:

Halloween candy sitting next to Christmas decorations in stores — hit over 10,000 views and 140+ comments almost overnight. Most people agreed. Some pushed back, saying there are bigger things in the world to be upset about. Both reactions are worth sitting with.

In this episode, I'm digging into what's actually driving how we plan for the holidays — and for the future in general.

Are you making those decisions from a calm, intentional place?

Or are you rushing into them from fear?

I walk through why that pause — just asking yourself which one it is actually changes the outcome. This isn't about not planning ahead. You can absolutely plan for the future. The real question is what you're planning from.

We'll talk about:

  • Why "there are worse things happening" is a form of minimizing your own valid reaction
  • The difference between a fear-based decision and an intentional one — and why they can look identical from the outside
  • The pause that changes everything: one question to ask before you decide anything about the holidays (or anything else)
  • Why planning ahead isn't the problem — planning from fear is
  • How this cultural rushing (candy next to Christmas decor) mirrors a bigger pattern of never landing anywhere before being pulled to the next thing

Listen if you've ever caught yourself scrambling to plan something and wondered whether that urgency was really necessary — or if you were doing it from a calmer place, you'd choose differently.

211: The 72 Degree Life: Why Feeling Fine Might Be Keeping You From Your Purpose19 août 202600:19:16

There's nothing wrong with a comfortable life — stable, safe, needs met. But what if that exact comfort is the reason you haven't reached for what you're actually here to do?

In this episode, I'm introducing a concept I'm calling the 72 Degree Life: not too hot, not too cold, nothing wrong enough to fix, nothing alive enough to feel. I break down Maslow's hierarchy of needs and show why getting your foundation met can quietly convince you that's the ceiling — when it's really just the floor. I also draw a hard line between two things that can look identical from the outside but aren't: a regulated nervous system and a resigned one. One is safety. The other is numbness in disguise.

If you've ever felt like nothing is wrong in your life, and yet something still feels unlived underneath it all — this episode is for you.

In this episode:

  • What the "72 Degree Life" actually is (and why it's more dangerous than a crisis)
  • A breakdown of Maslow's hierarchy of needs and where most women get stuck
  • Why self-actualization is a pull, not a problem to fix
  • The critical difference between nervous system regulation and emotional resignation
  • Why comfort can be the very thing keeping you from your soul's calling

210: Why saying "I don't know what I want" is a lie that is keeping you stuck.12 août 202600:15:47

I was sitting in my car in an underground parking garage, on the phone with my friend Vicky, asking myself: how did I get here? Is this actually my life? That question cracked open something I couldn't ignore — so I asked myself the harder one: what do you actually want?

In this episode, I talk about why so many women answer that question with "I don't know" — and why I think that's rarely the truth. It's not that we don't know. It's that we've abandoned ourselves, consciously or unconsciously, for so long that we've stopped listening. Midlife isn't just a crisis — it can be both a reinvention and a return to who you already are underneath it all.

I share a practice for getting honest: sitting down — through a voice note, a journal entry, however it comes out — and asking what you want now, what you used to want, even what you wanted as a kid before you forgot. It's not a one-time question. You have to keep asking it, and keep holding the vision, until it becomes real.

207: The One Thing I Kept Doing That Was Keeping Me Stuck and I Didn't Even Know It22 juil. 202600:14:09

Have you ever done all the personal development work and still felt stuck? Read the books, tried the practices, and wondered why nothing was actually shifting?

In this episode I'm sharing the one pattern I kept repeating for years that was quietly undermining everything. I didn't recognize it as the problem because it looked like virtue. It looked like being a good person.

It was self abandonment. And it was running underneath everything.

In this episode you will learn:

  • What self abandonment actually looks like in everyday life
  • The small daily moments where you choose everyone else over yourself without realizing it
  • Why keeping the peace is one of the most costly things you can do to yourself
  • How staying silent shows up later as frustration, resentment, and heaviness
  • Why personal development work doesn't land when this pattern is still running
  • What finally changed for me

206: Your Life Looks Perfect on Paper — So Why Do You Want to Escape It?15 juil. 202600:15:26

My husband once told me I was always unhappy. He wasn't wrong. But he wasn't right either.

Because I wasn't unhappy. I was unfulfilled. And underneath that was something I hadn't named yet — I had been abandoning myself for years without even realizing it.

In this episode I'm talking about the feeling so many women carry but rarely say out loud. The perfect on paper life that somehow doesn't feel like yours. The fantasy of running away. And what that feeling is actually trying to tell you.

If something has felt off and you haven't been able to name it — this episode is for you.

In this episode:

  • The difference between unhappy and unfulfilled
  • What the escape fantasy is actually telling you
  • Why changing your circumstances won't solve the problem
  • What self abandonment actually looks like in everyday life
  • Why coming home to yourself starts with one honest question

205: What Grief Doesn't Tell You: Loss, Motherhood & Moving Forward with Elaine Alexander08 juil. 202600:56:14

⚠️ Content note: This episode discusses grief, including suicide loss. Listener discretion is advised. If you or someone you know is struggling, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) is available 24/7 in Canada and the US.

In this episode, Lianne sits down with registered psychotherapist Elaine Turcotte Alexander (Gracious Living) to talk about the messy, non-linear, deeply human experience of grief. From suicide loss to pet loss to grieving versions of yourself you never got to become, this conversation reframes what grief actually looks like — and gives you language for feelings you may not have known how to name.

About Elaine:
Elaine Alexander is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Ontario, working under supervision with adults navigating grief — including suicide loss — as well as relationship and dating challenges. She also works at the intersection of AI and mental health. Before stepping into this work, Elaine spent two decades in entrepreneurship, where she navigated burnout, financial pressure, personal loss, and becoming a wife and mother in her forties.

In this episode:

  • Why the "5 stages of grief" framework can create shame instead of healing
  • The difference between "moving on" and "moving forward"
  • How suicide loss carries unique guilt, anger, and unanswerable questions
  • Why sadness feels harder to sit with than anger (and what that says about our brains)
  • Grieving things beyond death: divorce, motherhood expectations, past selves, missed decades
  • Small, concrete ways to support a grieving friend long after the funeral
  • Elaine's personal story of loss, burnout, and finding her purpose in grief work

204: The Second Half of the Year Isn't Asking You to Hurry. It's asking you to slow down.01 juil. 202600:14:19

THE RETURN. A 21 day live program for the woman who is done living on autopilot, who has a great life and who is also longing for more.

Add you name to the waitlist. We start in August 2026. Exact date TBA.

THE RETURN

Can you believe the year is already half over?

If hearing those words immediately sends you into panic mode—thinking about everything you haven't accomplished yet—this episode is for you.

So many of us reach the middle of the year feeling like we're behind. Behind on our goals. Behind in life. Behind on becoming the person we thought we'd be by now.

But what if the second half of the year isn't asking you to do more?

What if it's asking you to notice more?

In this episode of The Spiritual Shiftworker Podcast, we're exploring why so many women in midlife feel like life is passing them by—and why the answer isn't another productivity hack or a bigger goal.

Instead, it's learning to reconnect with yourself through presence, awareness, and the ordinary moments that make up a meaningful life.

If you've been feeling disconnected, restless, or quietly wondering, "Is this all there is?" this conversation will invite you to slow down and return to what matters most.

  • Why the middle of the year often creates unnecessary pressure
  • The hidden cost of always focusing on "what's next"
  • How autopilot steals the moments that make life meaningful
  • Why presence is more powerful than productivity
  • A simple question that can change how you experience the rest of this year

What have I been rushing past that deserves my attention?

Sit with that today.

You don't need to catch up.

You simply need to come back.

203: Unbound: Healing Immigrant Guilt, Generational Trauma & the Power of the Pause with Serena Arora24 juin 202601:04:09

Serena Arora shares her journey from Calgary to building a wellness retreat center in Costa Rica, where she works as an Ayurvedic health practitioner and yoga therapist of over 25 years.

She opens up about the concept she calls "Imma Guilt" — the generational guilt and inherited weight of obligation and self-sacrifice passed down through immigrant families — and how it kept her stuck in a life of obligation over alignment.

Serena talks candidly about reinventing herself again and again while still repeating the same burnout cycle, the inner child healing that came through her stepdaughter, and the deeper differences between masculine and feminine energy.

The conversation also moves into Serena's current season of caregiving for aging parents, where she reframes discomfort as "dis-ease" — an early signal worth listening to through nervous system regulation and embodiment before it becomes something more. She shares the pause practice as a tool for self-abandonment recovery and reclaiming inner wisdom, the one question to ask before a big decision rooted in guilt versus alignment, and details on her upcoming women's wellness retreat, Living Unbound, plus where to find her book, Unbound.

This week I'm joined by Danielle Frank — author, luxury brand builder, and someone who has created a genuinely fulfilling life by embracing every unexpected turn along the way.

Danielle started her career in international PR at Miramax Films, living the kind of 20s most people only dream about. But after six years, restlessness set in. She left New York, moved to LA, walked into a toxic PR firm, and quit three months later — without a plan. What followed was an accidental pivot into the wine and spirits industry, over two decades building iconic luxury brands at Bacardi and Moët Hennessy, and eventually, the courage to finally publish a book she'd written over a decade ago.

A Wine Lover's Guide to Parenting is part comedy, part love letter to the industry she's spent her life in — a witty, satirical guide that parallels raising good humans with wine terminology, written from the perspective of a proud aunt who has spent years as a professional observer of chaos. It's proof that the things sitting on the shelf in the back of your mind deserve to be finished.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • Why Danielle left a dream job and what that pit-in-your-stomach feeling is actually telling you
  • The life she thought she'd have versus the one she built — and why she chose fulfillment over the expected path
  • Publishing a book 14 years after writing it, and what finally pushed her to do it
  • Her concept of "don't linger on the bridge" — and why transitions aren't meant to be lived in
  • The difference between happiness and fulfillment, and why that distinction matters
  • Why she started the handle @CreateAGreatStory long before she became an author — and what it actually means

Have you ever caught yourself doing everything except the one thing that would actually move you forward?

In this episode, Lianne gets honest about something she noticed in real time — listening to a book about self-sabotage while actively self-sabotaging. Sound familiar?

This isn't an episode about productivity or motivation. It's about the story running underneath all of it — the subconscious belief that was written before you were old enough to question it. The one that's been quietly deciding what you deserve, what you're ready for, and how long you should wait.

Because the waiting isn't protecting you. It's just keeping you comfortable in a life that was never fully yours to begin with.

In this episode:

  • Why laziness and fear aren't the real reason you're stuck
  • What self-sabotage actually looks like in real life (hint: it's not dramatic)
  • The one awareness practice that changes everything — before any strategy or plan
  • The question you need to ask yourself honestly before anything else shifts

What if the thing that broke you open was actually the thing that was always meant to unlock you?

Five years ago, Shelby Perry lost her eye in a snowboarding accident. She was 30, healthy, high-performing, and had never seen it coming. What followed wasn't just a physical recovery — it was a complete dismantling and rebuilding of identity, purpose, and trust. And out of that wreckage, she built something extraordinary.

Shelby is the founder of iAdhesive — a community, product line, and movement for people living with one eye. She's a yoga instructor, sobriety advocate, and host of the annual iConnect Virtual Conference. In this conversation, she gets real about the victim mindset, the inner voice she almost ignored, and why your worst chapter might be your most important assignment.

In this episode:

  • Why community — not just healing — was the missing piece after her injury
  • The three-level mindset framework she now teaches: everything happens for you → everything happens to help others → you turn everything into gold
  • How getting sober 10 months before the accident gave her an unexpected blueprint for navigating trauma
  • The moment she was lying in bed and heard a voice she couldn't ignore — and what happened when she said yes to it
  • Why your purpose doesn't have to look like anyone else's
  • The iConnect Virtual Conference, Adhesive eye patches, and her first in-person retreat in Tulum
  • Her bigger vision: eye care awareness and eye protection access in developing countries
  • Why belief has to come before the proof — every single time

197: Why You're Rushing Through Your Life (And How to Finally Slow Down)"13 mai 202600:15:23

What if the reason life feels like it's passing you by isn't about time at all — it's about how present you are inside it?
In this honest, unscripted episode, Lianne gets real about watching her oldest son finish grade 11 and the wake-up call that hit her: the rushing, the urgency, the pressure we put on ourselves to be everywhere on time — and what it costs us.
She digs into why so many women in midlife feel like they've been living on autopilot, how the chronic state of rush is rooted in dysregulation (not poor time management), and why the antidote isn't a new schedule — it's awareness and presence.
You'll also hear about the mantra Lianne returns to again and again when she catches herself projecting panic onto her kids, and how the free Honest Check-In download was built for exactly this moment — when you're ready to stop and ask yourself what you actually want.In this episode

• The unexpected moment of clarity that led to this episode being recorded
• Why time feeling "fast" is a signal, not a fact
• The hidden cost of rushing your kids — and yourself
• Why women in midlife are especially prone to chronic urgency
• The mantra: "There is always enough time. I am the creator of my time."
• How to recognize when your rush is actually dysregulation in disguise

This week's episode is FIRE!!!

Have you ever consumed every book, course, and podcast in the personal development space — and still felt like none of it was working? That's exactly where Vicky Nicoll found herself. In this episode, Lianne sits down with Vicki, a South Africa-born entrepreneur living in Sweden, who spent years trying to build a coaching business while raising small kids, navigating a foreign country, and quietly burning out from the inside.

Vicky's story is one so many women will recognize: the consuming without embodying, the shame spiral around money spent on courses that never paid off, and the exhausting chase after the 10K month she didn't even really want. In 2024, she hit a wall — unfollowed everyone, quit personal development entirely, trained for a marathon with zero running background, finished it in record heat, and then fell into a significant depression when it was over.

And then something shifted.

In this deeply honest conversation, Lianne and Vicky unpack:

  • Why consuming self-help isn't the same as being ready to receive it — and how to tell the difference
  • The "valid excuses" trap: how circumstances like kids, moving, and life load can be both real and a hiding place
  • What the online coaching industry gets wrong about how long it actually takes to build something real
  • The hidden support systems behind the "successful mom boss" narrative nobody talks about
  • How Vicki rebuilt her confidence through a faceless Instagram page — and why that unexpected detour was exactly what she needed
  • The moment a Lori Harder podcast episode titled Remember Who the F** You Are* cracked everything open
  • Why the answers were always inside her — and what it actually felt like when that truth finally landed
  • The daily practice of protecting your mental and creative space in a world designed to pull your attention outward

This episode is raw, funny, and full of those "that's me" moments. If you've ever blown something up and wondered whether you still had what it takes to rebuild — this one's for you.

195: The Real Reason You're Not Going All In (It's Not What You Think)"29 avr. 202600:19:25

Have you ever told yourself you were going to go all in on something — your health, your business, your life — and then didn't? Or maybe you're the woman who DOES go all in, hard and extreme, only to achieve the goal and feel completely empty on the other side?

In this episode we're unpacking the two fears behind the "all in" mentality that nobody is talking about. The fear that stops you from starting and the extreme that keeps you from ever actually arriving. And why both of them are stealing the same thing from you — a life you're actually present for while you build it.

This one came straight from a real conversation at a women's retreat last weekend . If you've ever felt like the concept of going all in was made for someone else's life — this episode is for you.

The Tangible Practice — The Commitment Scan:

Next time you're faced with a decision about going all in on something — before you say yes or no — try this:

  1. Sit down. Close your eyes. Take three slow breaths.
  2. Bring the thing you want to commit to into your mind. Not the plan. Just the vision.
  3. Notice where you feel it in your body. Expansion or contraction? Excitement or dread?
  4. Ask yourself: is this a fear no or a truth no?
  5. Write down what your body said. One sentence.

That's your answer. Not your head. Your body.

194: Time Is an Illusion: Alignment, Divine Timing & Why Your Desires Are Already Answered with Marie Major22 avr. 202601:07:09

In this episode of the Spiritual Shift Worker Podcast, Lianne sits down with spiritual guide and author Marie Major to explore the nature of time, divine timing, and conscious creation. Marie shares her journey from childhood curiosity about time and purpose to a deep study of spiritual teachers including Neville Goddard, Abraham Hicks, Napoleon Hill, and Eckhart Tolle.

Together they discuss why time is an illusion — and what that actually means for how we create our lives. They explore the concept of the "field of infinite possibilities," timeline jumping, and why your desires are already answered in the non-physical realm. The conversation touches on the witch wound, the suppression of feminine intuition, and how the collective awakening unfolding right now is calling more women forward to reclaim their gifts.

Marie also walks listeners through her personal meditation practice — morning, afternoon, and evening rituals — and explains why raising your vibration through alignment is the real key to manifestation, not hustle or force.

Topics covered: time as an illusion, divine timing, manifestation and the law of attraction, Neville Goddard, Abraham Hicks, quantum leaping, the Akashic Records, the witch wound, collective awakening, feminine intuition, self-talk and cellular health, meditation practice, Lemuria and Starseed energy

193: You're Missing Your Life: The "I'll Be Happy When" Lie That's Keeping You Stuck15 avr. 202600:25:50

Have you been telling yourself that you'll finally feel happy once you move, once you retire, once life looks a little different? If so, you're not alone — and you're not broken. But you may be falling for one of the most common psychological traps there is.

In this episode, Lianne gets raw about nearly 20 years of living in the "I'll be happy when" cycle — and what it actually cost her. Not just time. Identity. Presence. The life that was already happening while she was waiting for the next version of it.

She breaks down the psychology behind why we do this — including the Arrival Fallacy, coined by Harvard researcher Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, and the concept of hedonic adaptation — and why chasing future happiness is literally wired into your brain. (Hint: it has nothing to do with willpower and everything to do with how your dopamine system works.)

But this episode isn't about giving up on your dreams. It's about learning to hold two truths at once: you can be deeply grateful for where you are AND fiercely desire something more. Those two things are not opposites. And the moment you stop treating them like they are is the moment you stop missing your life.

In this episode:

— The real reason "I'll be happy when" feels like hope but functions like self-abandonment
— What the Arrival Fallacy is and why it's not your fault
— Why your brain is literally wired to keep moving the goalposts
— What it actually costs you to live on a checklist instead of in your life
— The personal moment Lianne realized she was blaming everything outside herself — and what cracked open instead
— How to want more AND be present now — without the guilt
— What the Renaissance Return is and why it starts with return, not transformation

Have you ever winced at a price tag — even when you knew you were fine? That moment at the counter where your brain does the math and something just tightens? That's not a money problem. That's a mindset pattern. And if you're saying it out loud, your kids are absorbing it.

In this episode, Lianne shares how the thought of buying a $64 pizza turned into a entire conversation about money. And how that split-second reaction cracked open something much deeper. The scarcity script. The one most of us inherited without even knowing it, passed down quietly through the things our parents said, worried about, and winced at too.

The bank account isn't the problem. The story we keep telling ourselves is.

In this episode you'll learn:

  • How to catch the language — the small, everyday phrases that signal scarcity thinking, and why noticing them without judgment is the first and most powerful step
  • How to run the evidence — a simple but disruptive question that interrupts the scarcity spiral before it takes hold and brings you back to what's actually true
  • How to reframe out loud — shifting from "that's too expensive" to "that's not how I want to spend right now," and why that one word swap changes everything for you and your kids

This episode isn't really about money. It's about what your children learn to believe about the world based on what they hear you say every single day. And it's about giving yourself grace — because awareness is the beginning, not the finish line.

191: Money Mindset & Business Finances: Breaking Generational Patterns with Michelle Ghassemi01 avr. 202601:01:36

Episode Overview

Michelle is back for round two, and this time we're going deep on money — the beliefs we carry, the shame we attach to it, and the practical steps to finally see your finances clearly without the emotional charge.

Michelle grew up in generational poverty, built a seven-figure business with no MBA or formal training, and now mentors women entrepreneurs on the operations and financial back end of their businesses. Her approach is simple: data is just information, money is just a tool, and clarity beats anxiety every single time.

What We Cover

  • Why so many women are afraid of their own numbers — and how to change that
  • The first step: getting everything on a spreadsheet, in real numbers, no rounding
  • How to track income and expenses so you see patterns instead of panicking
  • Why your why has to be stronger than the pain of staying the same
  • How to fall forward — recovering faster and using failure as data
  • Why money is neutral, and how to stop assigning it shame or fear
  • The one question to ask yourself at least once a year: What is enough?

In this episode, I sit down with Martha for a deeply real conversation about the energy surrounding the recent Spring Equinox—and why so many of us are feeling like life is speeding up, shifting, or quietly falling apart.

We talk about the rare Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries (something that hasn’t happened in thousands of years) and what this fire-driven energy actually means for your real, everyday life—not just in theory, but in your nervous system, your choices, and your ability to move forward.

If you’ve been feeling restless, overwhelmed, or like something inside you is pushing for change… this conversation will help you understand why.

And more importantly—what to do with it.

✨ In This Episode, We Explore:

  • The significance of the Saturn + Neptune conjunction in Aries
  • Why everything feels like it’s happening faster than you can process
  • Aries energy: action, movement, and the end of waiting
  • What this means for your personal life (not just “the world”)
  • How to work with this energy instead of feeling overwhelmed by it

🌿 Key Takeaway:

This isn’t subtle energy.

188: The Moment You Stop Waiting to Be Saved (3 Signs You're Giving Away Your Power)11 mars 202600:28:46

So many women feel stuck in midlife — not because something is wrong, but because they’ve unknowingly given their power away.

In this episode, I’m sharing something I recently witnessed that made me pause and reflect on a pattern I see all the time.

It’s the belief that someone outside of us is responsible for fixing our lives.

Our job.Our partner.Our circumstances.
Even the systems around us

And while those things can absolutely impact us, the moment we believe someone else is responsible for our healing or happiness… we unknowingly give away the very power that could change our lives.

In this episode, I’m breaking down 3 signs you might be giving your power away without realizing it, including:

• Waiting for someone else to change before you can feel better
• Repeating the same story about why nothing ever works
• Believing healing or peace will come from something outside of you

And more importantly, I share how awareness is the first step to reclaiming your power.

Because real change doesn’t begin with fixing your life.

It begins with noticing the patterns running it.

In This Episode, Jennifer and Lianne Talk About:

✨ The nervous system — in plain English

  • Why most people don’t actually understand what “nervous system regulation” means

  • The problem with trendy buzzwords that sound good but don’t land

  • How your nervous system quietly runs your reactions, energy, and emotions

🔥 Women and expression

  • Why so many women apologize for crying

  • The fear of being labeled “angry,” “too much,” or “a bitch”

  • How suppressing expression creates more internal stress

🧠 Menopause, ADHD, or… stress?

  • The current wave of labeling everything as menopause or ADHD

  • Why not every shift needs a diagnosis

  • The overlooked truth: sometimes you’re just deeply stressed

  • How chronic stress can look like burnout, avoidance, irritability, or shutdown

💛 The core message

  • Your reactions are not random

  • Your body isn’t broken

  • There’s wisdom in your responses

  • Regulation starts with understanding, not labeling

186: Letting Go of Control as a Parent (And Teaching Your Kids to Trust Themselves)25 févr. 202600:20:42

In this episode, I share a recent realization around trying to control my kids’ eating habits and what it revealed about projection, fear, and trust.

If you’ve ever worried about whether your kids are making the “right” choices — around food, health, school, or life — this conversation will help you release control without disengaging as a parent.

We’ll talk about:

  • Why control often comes from fear

  • How over-managing can disconnect kids from their intuition

  • The balance between guidance and sovereignty

  • Practical ways to step back while still leading

This is about raising self-trusting humans — not perfectly managed ones.

185: Is It Time to Pivot? How to Know When Something in Your Life Is Done18 févr. 202600:23:26

Have you ever asked yourself if something in your life has run its course… or if it just needs a pivot?

In this honest solo episode of The Spiritual Shift Worker, I share the real question I’ve been sitting with: Is this podcast done? Or is it simply evolving?

But this conversation isn’t really about the podcast.

It’s about self-trust.

It’s about what happens when you feel something shifting — a relationship, a career, a creative project, an identity — and you don’t yet know what comes next.

In this episode, we explore:

  • How to know when something is truly over vs. ready for a pivot

  • Why growth can feel like an ending

  • The difference between making a decision from impulse vs. inner knowing

  • Why you don’t need the full roadmap before taking your next step

  • How trusting yourself creates clarity and momentum

You’ll also hear about a powerful reminder I received: timing is always right when you’re aligned. The real question isn’t what you decide — it’s where that decision is coming from.

If you’ve been feeling uncertain, restless, or on the edge of change, this episode will give you permission to trust your own guidance — even if you can’t see the full path ahead.

✨ You don’t need to know the next step before making a decision.
✨ Pivoting isn’t failure — it’s growth.
✨ When you act from alignment, clarity follows.

Journal Prompt:
What is the next aligned choice I can make right now, even if I don’t know what comes next?

184: How to Build Nervous System Capacity So You Can Handle Life Without Burning Out11 févr. 202600:27:05

So many women feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and tapped out — yet quietly believe they’re the only ones struggling.

In this episode, I’m sharing a realization that became crystal clear for me after attending a women’s retreat: women aren’t broken — their nervous systems are overloaded.

We’re often told to “do less,” “let it go,” or “eliminate stress.”
But real life doesn’t always allow that.

You can’t always quit the job.
You can’t eliminate responsibility.
And you can’t opt out of being human.

So the real question becomes:
How do we build the capacity in our bodies to hold life — without collapsing under it?

In this episode, we explore the difference between nervous system regulation, capacity, and resilience — and why building internal capacity is often more important than trying to remove external stressors.

  • Why stress itself isn’t the problem — nervous system overload is

  • What “capacity” actually means in the body

  • The difference between regulation, capacity, and resilience

  • Why breathwork and meditation don’t remove stress — but change how your body responds to it

  • The fine line between building capacity and knowing when it’s time to release something

  • Why “just let it go” can actually create more shame for overwhelmed women

  • How regulation creates clarity instead of urgency

  • Why so many women feel alone — even though so many are struggling

  • How to support your nervous system in a realistic, sustainable way

You don’t need a different life.
You need a nervous system and a body that can hold the life you’re living.

If you’re craving support rather than another thing to fix, I invite you to:

  • Join a Sit With Me session — a guided space for nervous system regulation and co-regulation

183: How Early Conditioning Shapes Self-Trust — And Why Midlife Reveals It with Amanda Clark04 févr. 202601:01:15

For many women, midlife doesn’t arrive as a crisis — it arrives as a quiet realization.

In this episode, I’m joined by Amanda Clark for a grounded conversation about early conditioning, nervous system adaptation, and how we learn — often without realizing it — to trust external authority over our own inner signals.

We talk about how these patterns aren’t the result of something being “wrong” with us, but of how we learned to cope, comply, and stay safe in the systems we grew up in. And why midlife is often the moment those strategies stop working — not to break us, but to wake us up.

This is not a conversation about fixing your childhood or doing more healing work.
It’s about awareness.
About noticing how the body has been communicating all along.
And about understanding why listening to yourself can feel unfamiliar — even when you’re deeply capable.

In This Episode, We Discuss:

  • How early conditioning shapes self-trust and decision-making

  • Why the nervous system learns to override the body before we’re conscious of it

  • The difference between childhood context and childhood “healing”

  • How midlife reveals patterns rather than creates problems

  • What it actually means to feel safe in your body — without self-improvement pressure

182: Why I broke up with my 10k steps a day habit.28 janv. 202600:25:28

Why I Had to Release the 10,000 Steps a Day Goal

For almost two years, I followed the 10,000 steps a day goal without missing a day. Walking became a powerful tool for nervous system regulation, mental clarity, and self-trust. But eventually, I realized something important: what once supported me was quietly becoming pressure.

In this episode, I’m sharing the moment I knew it was time to let go—and why releasing the 10k steps goal had nothing to do with quitting and everything to do with listening.

  • Why the 10,000 steps goal can be helpful—but not always sustainable

  • How a measurable habit can override intuition

  • The difference between devotion and obligation in wellness

  • Why I was choosing walking over strength training, Kundalini, and meditation

  • The moment I found myself walking stairs at night just to “hit the number”

  • How numbers on a watch (or scale) can quietly become identity

  • Why midlife requires responsiveness, not rigid rules

  • What I focus on now instead of hitting a daily step goal

Not everything that’s good for you needs to be done every day. And any practice—even a healthy one—that disconnects you from your body deserves to be questioned.

If you’ve ever felt controlled by steps, fitness trackers, wellness rules, or perfectionism, this episode will help you reconnect with self-trust, presence, and what your body actually needs in this season of life.

181: When Your Life Outgrows Your Space with Kim Costa21 janv. 202600:49:31

Have you ever felt like something in your life is off—but you can’t quite explain why?

In this episode of the Spiritual Shift Worker Podcast, Lianne sits down with Kim Costa, creator of the Wheelhouse Assessment, to explore a piece of misalignment most people overlook: your home and environment.

This conversation goes far beyond real estate. We talk about how misalignment whispers before it screams, why so many women feel like they’re living the same year on repeat, and how your physical space can either support your nervous system—or quietly drain it.

Kim shares her powerful personal story, including a life-altering accident that forced her to confront how deeply out of alignment her life had become. Together, we unpack how small, intentional changes—rather than blowing up your entire life—can help you reconnect with who you actually are now.

If you’re in midlife and feeling restless, stuck, or like your life no longer fits the version of you that’s emerging, this episode will give you language, clarity, and a grounded place to start.

  • Why feeling “off” is often a sign of environmental misalignment

  • How your home impacts your nervous system, energy, and mental health

  • The difference between staying, renovating, or moving—and how to know which is right for you

  • Kim’s Four M’s Framework: Myself, Mastery, Mission, and Mates

  • The 8 key life areas that determine whether your life feels supportive or draining

  • Why misalignment shows up as frustration, clutter, overwhelm, or stagnation

  • How to make life changes without overwhelming your nervous system

  • Why small, intentional shifts can prevent decades of living out of alignment

  • You feel stuck in midlife but don’t want to blow up your life

  • You sense you’ve outgrown your space, career, or lifestyle

  • You’re craving clarity, simplicity, and nervous-system-friendly change

  • You know there’s more to your life—but want to move toward it calmly and consciously

In This Episode, We Explore:

  • You feel stuck in midlife but don’t want to blow up your life

  • You sense you’ve outgrown your space, career, or lifestyle

  • You’re craving clarity, simplicity, and nervous-system-friendly change

  • You know there’s more to your life—but want to move toward it calmly and consciously

By blending personality theory, life transitions, and environmental awareness, Kim helps clients decide whether to stay, renovate, or move—without regret.

180: I Love Myself Deeply: Why Self-Love Is About Integrity, Not Self-Care14 janv. 202600:22:20

What if self-love isn’t about self-care routines, affirmations, or “treating yourself”—but about integrity with yourself?

In this episode, I explore why “I love myself deeply” was the intention I resisted most, and how it revealed the real foundation of personal growth, nervous system regulation, and life change. We talk about the cost of breaking promises to yourself, how self-abandonment quietly shows up in everyday life, and why loving yourself deeply requires discernment—not extremes.

This episode is for women in midlife who feel restless despite “doing the work,” who crave a more honest relationship with themselves, and who are ready to stop bypassing their inner truth.

What You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why self-love is about self-trust, not motivation

  • How breaking promises to yourself erodes confidence and clarity

  • The difference between rest and avoidance

  • How to work with your shadow without judgment or bypassing

  • Why discernment—knowing when to push and when to rest—is essential for sustainable growth

  • How loving yourself deeply creates real, lasting change

You’ve heard everyone talking about the mental load — the invisible weight women carry while trying to hold it all together.

But what if some of that weight is one we’ve placed on ourselves?

In this honest conversation, I open up about my own experience with the mental load: the endless to-do lists, the meal planning, the laundry, the constant thinking for everyone. I’ll share how my need for control, perfection, and “doing it all” created patterns that left me feeling overwhelmed and resentful — and how I’m now learning to let go.

This episode explores:
✨ What the mental load really means in 2025
✨ How control and perfectionism quietly feed it
✨ Why women in midlife are waking up and saying, “I don’t want to do it all anymore”
✨ What it looks like to release control and find space for yourself again

If you’ve ever caught yourself thinking, “Why does it all fall on me?” — this episode will help you see the mental load in a new light and take the first step toward freedom.
