These Houston teams have a lot of fight in them and put it on display this week. The Texans came away with a big win against the Bills at home to keep hopes alive in H-Town. But the Rockets were not able to outlast the Denver Nuggets in NBA Cup Play. Plus, we knew we were Dubi stans in this house; but it seems like all of H-Town poured one out when Mauricio Dubón was traded. So we check-in with what stage of grief our listeners may be in.

We talk about the rise to mediocrity for the Texans this season, learn that CJ Stroud is out for another week, and discuss the game. Then we look at the Rockets great win against the Magic in a never-give-up effort that is making many fans excited about the potential for this team. KD, Al-P and…Reed Sheppard? That’s right, Reed has gone from whipping boy to social media darling as Rockets fans are excited about the young PG. Not gonna lie, they had us in the beginning…the Texans and the Rockets both put on fourth quarter shows for fans of the H on Sunday. The Houston Texans have declared that their season is not dead yet with a 36-29 win. They are now 4-5 and have hope to turn this season around. How hopeful are you feeling H-Town? And then to keep the party going the Rockets had their own fourth quarter come back to beat the Bucks 122-115. (The Rox also lost to the Spurs in their NBA Cup group match but we don’t wanna talk about it.

This week Paul does know what day of the week it is (maybe) and we go through the NFL lines and games to try to pick the winners. The Texans season is on the line this week as they matchup against divisional rival Jacksonville. Is it delusional to have hope still? The Houston Texans are now 3-5 after struggling to score in a 18-15 loss to the Broncos. CJ Stroud will be out for at least one week and the Texans are in a bind, because they’re way behind but Nick Caserio wasn’t willing to make a deal. Luckily, we can also talk about the Houston Rockets. The Rox are on a 4 game winning streak-after a slightly slow start-and it looks like there is still some hope in Houston. Also, the Houston Astros are looking to hire Victor Rodriguez to be a hitting coach in Houston. The Astros winter starts now and we’re here for all the news and rumors.

We also don’t know what day of the week it is?? That’s right. The whole time I was recording I thought it was Thursday, but producer Carla never corrected me…so it’s kinda her fault too right? Also, the Texans are coming off of a win, but now they matchup against the Broncos and have a big prove it game. Nico and Christian are back…are the Texans back? We’ll see.

The reverse jinx (that I totally intended…) worked and the Texans were able to win 25-15 at home. We look at the numbers a bit and look back at the game. We also talk about the negativity that has surrounded the Texans the last week. The Rockets lost a physical game to Detroit and apparently there is still some baseball still going on. Also in breaking sports news: gambling is may not be the most straightforward way to make money…and it may be crooked. *gasp*

The Houston Rockets are ready to make some noise in the NBA this season. They showed up to give us an amazing season opener. And even though they lost, there is a strong sense of optimism for this team if this is how they’re gonna play. We look at the Rox game and then sadly take a look at our Houston Texans dropping a less-than-optimistic game against the Seattle Seahawks. This offense needs some help. We then finish off with a little baseball as the Astros signed a potential starting pitcher. (Not exactly the October news we’d hope for but…here we are. It could be worse though. What a week it’s been since we’ve last pod. The Astros swept the Rangers, and kept the boot in Houston for the 9th straight year. The Astros lost Yordan to injury and are announcing today that Paredes is set to return to the team. (And the Texans lose a MNF game and don’t shake any allegations made about the team this offseason.) The Astros are tied with the Seattle Mariners for first in the AL West and believe it or not this die-hard Astros fan really likes the Astros chances of winning this series. We’ll get into why I think this any preview the pitching matchups for the series. I even attempt to talk about the Texans before my brain turns to mush. (I’ve been sick this week and you can tell my feverish brain started slowing towards the end…lol…*soft weeping*.) The Astros have fought hard to be in the position they are in. The Houston Astros brought their own fireworks to LA for 4th of July! The Astros hand the LA Dodgers the biggest L they’ve ever had at Dodger Stadium (aka Daikin Park West), beat them in a close one, and keep the dingers coming in their stint in Chevez Ravine. Altuve had a series, Walker had a series, Caratini hits ANOTHER grand salam. Haters will say the Dodgers were injured. But the Astros have a starting rotation on the IL too! It was a much needed dose of happiness for your boy in a though time. Dodgers fans will still remember 2017 but seem to forget what their team was supporting last week?? Oof.
