Replay: Shifting Mind and Body w/ Nutrition and Margaret Marshall17 juin 201500:43:00
Being able to look in the mirror and like what one sees creates a positive self-image, which translates into how we interact with others and how others look at us.  This is an essential lesson found in BODY, MIND, & MOUTH:  Life’s Eating Connection, by Margaret Marshall, founder of the Why Weight coaching method. “Your thoughts control your eating and your weight,” she says.   When the person looking into the mirror is unhappy with what he or she sees, this can lead to a vicious cycle of self-fulfilling doubts and negative thinking.  But there is another option:  seize the opportunity to make behavioral and lifestyle changes that will in turn transform one’s self-image.  Most people understand that they are in control of what and how they eat.  Unfortunately, there can be a daily disconnect regarding one's body, mind, and mouth, very often lasting for years. In BODY, MIND, & MOUTH, Marshall draws insights and lessons from her clients' lives, along with her own experiences, to illustrate how “our minds affect our mouths, how our mouths affect our bodies, and how a shift in thought can benefit our health and wellness”.

Shifting Prayer with Sheila Gale of GlobalPrayerPartners.com15 avr. 201500:44:00
Come listen in on this inspiring experience of prayer and belief with Sheila Gale. Sheila Gale was stunned. Her daughter was waging a battle against a prolonged mystery  illness-wasting away in the hospital attached to tubes and wires. Miserable to see  her daughter endure such suffering, the longtime host of the hugely popular  The Sheila Show, reached out to her listener base for a desperate favor in the form  of prayers. Inundated with responses, she read them to Natasha--all 450 of them--and  within 48 hours, her daughter was healed and on her way home!  It was this remarkable experience that inspired GlobalPrayerPartners.com, a website  to unite people who need prayers with those who are so willing to offer them.  Sheila realized that there are many people in need--from all parts of the world  and from all different religious and theological backgrounds--who require a helping  prayer from time-to-time. Prayer is the great unifier as all of the spiritual pathways  believe in the power of prayer. GlobalPrayerPartners.com will offer an extraordinary  worldwide network for prayer requests to be answered by concerned spiritual seekers  and healers from around the globe!
Helen Woo Shifts Struggles into Success08 avr. 201500:45:00
Having experienced a philosophical and spiritual shift, Woo created the concept of SELF-AID--an acronym that stands for Self-Aid (self-help), Esteem, Love/Laughter, Freedom, Attitude, Integrity, Dream. Her new book SELF-AID - Inspirations to Turn Struggles into Success (January, 2015), allows her readers to be inspired and uplifted by the very quotes that ultimately turned her life around. Each quote is followed by one of her unique "Wooisms" - the ideal way to interpret the quote to engineer a shift into a higher and better way of thinking. The book, divided into each of  these categories, provides SELF-AID for anyone to lift out of their doldrums or  depression and move into a life filled with joy, peace, gratitude and prosperity. Woo is passionate about paying it forward--giving others the thrust they need to  overcome whatever past traumas and dramas might have held them back. With her new book, her radio show, SELF-AID Success Stories, and her second book of the same title, due in the spring, Woo shares empowering and inspiring stories from successful entrepreneurs and public figures on how they overcame their own struggles and failures.   Woo is also creating a SELF-AID foundation for empowerment that gives people the  courage to change from a negative to a positive framework in their lives; leaving the struggle behind and experiencing the surge!  Woo is now an emerging speaker, writer and leader, who brings a welcome ultra-positive perspective to everything she does. SELF-AID Inspirations to Turn Struggles into Success is a key to opening up the reader's heart and mind to reframe his or her life from lackluster to luscious. Ms. Woo would be happy to offer quotes and "Wooisms" from SELF-AID Inspirations to Turn Struggles into Success.

Shifting Confidence & Drive with Author of Fat to Fearless, Asher Fox11 févr. 201500:46:00
Asher Fox thought that becoming a personal fitness trainer would give him the tools, motivation and activity to conquer his yo-yo weight gain. And at 22, starting with only $300 left over from student loans, he built one of the largest personal training businesses in the state of Florida with multiple locations and a host of trainers working for him. But it's hard to maintain your credibility with clients, when you reach 300 pounds-just as Asher did at his peak. Working in the business could not inoculate him from his own lack of self-esteem and the things that were literally eating at him. And so he began his quest to find a permanent solution for himself and others. It led him ultimately to create the most comprehensive arsenal of psychological tools assembled to date to overcome, convert and enroll the subconscious mind in the healing process. Fat to Fearless: Enjoy Permanent Weight Loss and End Emotional Eating...For Good! is what everyone who struggles with emotional eating has been waiting for. Why Fearless? Because, Fox says, it is fear that lies at the heart of every emotional overeater...an often - unconscious fear that reinforces the desire to eat to avoid some aspect of pain. That's why reaching and changing the subconscious - which is exponentially more powerful than the conscious mind - is so critical.

Replay: Shifting the Mind and Body With Nutrition and Margaret Marshall24 sept. 201400:43:00

Shifting the Mind and Body With Nutrition and Margaret Marshall06 août 201400:43:00

For over a decade, Paige Valdiserri (http://www.paigevaldiserri.com/) a board certified Traumatic Stress and Intuitive Healing Consultant, has worked with clients suffering or recovering from chronic stress and trauma due to war zone episodes, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, medical or chronic illness, personal traumas or intense professional or corporate settings.  Paige Valdiserri’s work has taken her to Iraq, Africa, to the Pentagon, to working with veterans of 9/11 and to many locations where first responders are on the front lines. Paige offers a combination of modalities including Chakra energy work, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Hypnosis/Past Life Regression/Meditation, Kundalini yoga techniques, Reiki, Subconscious Restructuring and Biodynamic Craniosacral Trauma Therapy.  Her work has led her to create a specialized healing method, Energetic Body Dialogue (EBD). Unlike traditional methods, EBD works to align patients with their bodies through physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and energetic properties. By assessing all the components of a patient, Paige is able to create a highly personalized service that leads to wellness, self-empowerment and, most importantly, reconnection to a body once detached from its wholeness.
So Not Okay, Shifting the Way We View Bullying With Novelist Nancy Rue23 juil. 201400:45:00
This week on The Shift we're talking with teen novelist Nancy Rue. The issue she addresses in her latest novel, So Not Okay, is bullying in schools. Her novel is written for teenagers to see through the viewpoint of a child being bullied. We have all been there when we were growing up, but what we assumed at one point in our lives to be harmless actually torments young kids so much that they end their lives. Many people don't realize the severity of the situation and should become more aware of how their children behave towards others.  We'll discuss the issue of human kindness, how we can stop bullying and how to deal with bullying. Help us push this movement forward and stop this once and for all. Call in and ask your questions. We're also giving away a couple copies of the book to share with your teen. Sabra Waldfogel Shifts a Novelist Perspective on American History02 juil. 201400:45:00
Sabra Waldfogel grew up far from the South in Minneapolis. She studied history at Harvard University and received her Ph.D. in American History from the University of Minnesota. She has worked as a technical writer and has written about historic architecture for Old House Journal and Arts and Crafts Homes. Her short story "Yemaya” was recently published in Sixfold's January 2014 issue. Slave and Sister is her first novel. Will they be rivals or allies? The age-old struggle between sisters is skillfully brought to life in Slave and Sister, by Sabra Waldfogel. In the antebellum South, relations between slaves and their owners are conflicted enough; if there are blood ties, the tension can become a lethal storm. It was common in the antebellum South to raise a slave alongside the heir. But it was a surprise to both Adelaide and Rachel to discover they shared the same father. In a mesmerizing tale marked by impeccable historical accuracy, we begin by learning that scouts for General Sherman stumble upon a plantation that's anything but ordinary: it flies the Union flag and the freed slaves can read and write, and work the former plantation themselves.
