| Episode 82: You Don’t Lose Cool Points For Compassion: Sterling "Trap King" Davis on TNR & Redefining Cat Rescue | 06 Oct 2026 | 01:16:24 | |
The “TrapKing” himself, Sterling Davis, joins us as our special Season 5 premiere guest! Sterling “TrapKing” Davis is a well-traveled, ex-military, music and cat enthusiast who has always loved entertaining and connecting with people. Growing up, he was often the only guy in his neighborhood championing a love for cats. While taking a hiatus from touring with his rap group, Sterling spotted a job opening cleaning litter boxes at his local shelter. Looking for a meaningful way to spend his time, he applied—and the trajectory of his life changed completely. Sterling quickly fell in love with shelter work and was promoted to an outreach role centered on Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)—the proven, humane method for managing community cat populations. Recognizing his true calling, he stepped away from the music industry full-time to devote his life to feline advocacy. In 2017, he founded the nonprofit Trapking Humane Cat Solutions, dedicated to hands-on TNR, community cat management, and grassroots education. Sterling’s mission breaks through barriers: shattering outdated stereotypes around men in animal rescue and bridging vital communication gaps between Black communities and predominantly white animal welfare spaces. He lives and breathes his defining motto: You don’t lose cool points for compassion. Today, Sterling is an internationally sought-after speaker, headlining major events like CatCon, Cat Camp, and Meow DC, while championing grassroots shelters across the nation. Tune in as we kick off Season 5 with an inspiring conversation on reframing rescue culture, community outreach, and saving lives through TNR. Find out more about Sterling “TrapKing” Davis:

| Episode 61: Terri Grow, Feline Nutritionist | 08 Jul 2025 | 01:29:48 | |
Terri Grow, pet sage and feline nutritionist, joins us to dispel the myths regarding the food we feed our cats and offer advice on what a healthy diet should be for our cats. Terri has spent 30 years in the pet industry, working with veterinarians, trainers, behaviorists and pet parents, all while digging into the inner-workings of the pet food industry and voraciously studying pet nutrition, health and behavior. As Terri puts it: "Nutrition is the foundation for health and longevity. The way we feed our pets affects the mind, body, and spirit! This inevitably impacts not just us humans, but the planet as a whole. Do I think the world can be a better place through animals? Absolutely. The way forward? Food! Food is not just about stopping hunger … it’s information for the body! Within the whole food matrix, each nutrient is a database that can nourish and heal." | Episode 59: Jeff Carstens: Feline Advocate | 03 Jun 2025 | 01:08:22
Jeff Carstens, feline advocate from Floral Park, New York, joins us to discuss his efforts to overturn feral cat feeding law #7 in Floral Park. According to Jeff: "The imposition of law #7 deprives homeless cats of a vital source of food, further endangering their already compromised lives. Communities around the world are adopting TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) programs as humane ways of controlling cat populations, instead of seeking to penalize well-meaning people who offer these animals some respite. It's time the Village of Floral Park did the same. The cats cannot ask for your help, but they need it. The law must be changed. We call on the leaders of the Incorporated Village of Floral Park to immediately overturn feral cat feeding law #7. Under compassionate, thoughtful guidance, we can find a constructive, humane solution to this situation." | Episode 41: Rescue Advocates of Long Island | 17 Mar 2024 | 00:52:01
Hi! We are Brendan, Caitlin and Brianne!
Thank you for visiting Rescue Advocates of Long Island - RALI for short.
In 2014, we began collecting donations to help homeless animals for the holiday season. We realized there was a huge need to help local shelters and rescues.
In September 2015, we founded Rescue Advocates of Long Island and created our own 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization. RALI was founded on the idea of helping Long Island rescues get the proper resources to animals in need. We have helped raise awareness for local rescues, and helped to get dogs and cats adopted from local shelters and rescues.
Our mission is to continue to raise funds and collect supplies to help needy animals
