I’m Lynn and I have been a professional Union costume designer and wardrobe stylist for film and television Local 892, since 1996. One of my costume designs for Intel is a permanent archive, in the Smithsonian institution museum of natural history. I live in Los Angeles, California. I am the Co-founder of Sewn Adaptive a custom tailoring and alterations shop in Pasadena, CA. We specialize in adaptive alterations for people with disabilities.

I have been sewing since I was seven years old, self-taught until I went back to college the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for fashion design and interior design at 35 years old ,after being diagnosed severely dyslexic,.This is lengthy, but I’m 56 years old so I’ve done some living. In Spring of 2024 my first design as a Know Me licensee will be launched. One of the first licenses to be over 50.

I am the mother of three grown children who live in Utah and have four granddaughters, and a grandson on the way.  My husband, David, and I have been together for almost 10 years and he’s simply the best.

I am Alex, a Los Angeles based fashion designer with a background in tailoring and garment manufacturing. I studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and tailoring in Italy. I took the expertise I gained in both these places back to Los Angeles where I opened a small but very productive garment factory. I continued to create custom suits while expanding my experience in manufacturing as I took opportunities to manage factories in El Paso and Las Vegas. In 2022, I came together with Lynn Brannelly to create costumes for Cirque Du Soleil and later joined forces to tailor for Runway of Dreams, a runway show for people with disabilities to showcase adaptive fashion. We loved the idea of adaptive fashion and decided to fill a need opening the first Adaptive tailoring and alteration shop ever in Pasadena, California. We make custom clothing, adaptive accessories and alter clothes to specific disabilities every day and can’t wait to see what the future brings to Sewn Adaptive!

Hi I'm Raven Maureen and I am a sewing content creator. I primarily make clothes for myself and occasionally for my husband. I love curating my me made wardrobe to include pieces that range from beautiful prints to neutral tones. I believe in making a realistic wardrobe that fits your lifestyle. I would say my biggest project this year has been sewing a capsule wardrobe for my honeymoon. I made 15 garments! 

Outside of building the wardrobe of my dreams I believe in sharing my knowledge. I have been sewing for more than half of my life and I love offering tips, tricks and techniques to my followers. And I never rule out learning new things myself. 

I am launching my pattern weights! By the time this airs, they will be live in my shop. My shop can be accessed through any of my social media channels and website. I am so nervous but also excited to share this new venture with everyone!

Elizabeth is a life-long crafter and creator. She got “hooked” on the fiber arts when her grandmother taught her how to crochet at age 8. She later learned how to sew from her mother and even designed some of her own dress patterns as a teenager. After college and law school, Elizabeth turned her attention to cake and cookie decorating but since becoming a mom, she has returned to sewing because sewing projects won’t expire if you need a long break to tend to the kiddos. Today, Elizabeth is a full-time litigation attorney and when she’s not tangled up in the courtroom, she’s spending time with her husband and high school sweetheart, Baudelio, and their two children Daniella and Ezra.

A natural night owl, Elizabeth makes time for her sewing addiction passion after the kids are tucked in and often sews her projects from start to finish live on TikTok. Her main focus is bag making but she loves to sew up outfits for herself and her entire family. Elizabeth is especially fond of using any occasion as an excuse to whip up a custom bag and coordinating outfits and accessories. 

Elizabeth and her family live in the western suburbs of Chicago with their 13-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, Sherlock.

Lindsey's Bio: 
I found my love of designing and sewing when I had my first daughter, Aubrey. I wanted her to wear cute, boutique-style clothing, but I couldn't afford it. I decided to ask for a sewing machine for Christmas and proceeded to teach myself to sew.

Along the way, I realized that I had something special about putting fabrics together, and I loved the adorable creations I was making.

I began selling clothing online with the encouragement of family and friends. I learned new and better ways to make them each day and continued to grow my business. Ten years later, having a successful business, I wanted to give back. I decided to offer sewing patterns for the dresses I sold in my boutique for those who couldn't afford them. Keeping patterns affordable for everyone is a huge passion and the inspiration for my weekly sale. I wanted to give back to where it all began for me.

From there, I was hooked. Designing sewing patterns was so fun, and I found that the more I worked at learning how to draft patterns, the better I became at it. I have been designing patterns since 2012, and there is nothing I love more.

Monica Monyo-Tetteh is a Sewing, DIY and Lifestyle Creative known in the sewing community as That’s Sew Monica. Born and raised in New York City with roots from Ghana, West Africa, she took up sewing to connect to her late mother. Monica has a passion for sewing and the sewing community.  She is one of the owners of Sewrority Wear, LLC a sewing novelty and apparel company. She hosts a monthly sew-a-long called SEWYOURVIEW and monthly in person sewing meetup called Project Sew.  Her YouTube channel called “On the Road with That’s Sew Monica'' highlights the Dallas area fashion district, home sewers and designers. Monica’s leadership led her to form Black Makers Matter, A coalition of black makers united to bring about and implement cultural transformation in the sewing and crafting industry.

I started teaching recently in person and have really enjoyed connecting with people. It has been amazing and I am looking to expand in person offerings.

• I am a new PFAFF Ambassador and really excited about the features of the Performance Icon.
• I am also a Ditto Ambassador and using a sewing projector has been great. It cuts my sewing time down tremendously since I don't have to cut patterns.
• My business Sewrority Wear will be hosting our 2nd sewing retreat in March 2024.

Meet this week's guest:

I started sewing when I was pregnant with my 6.5 year old! I wanted to make her all the baby clothes and I simply fell in love with the craft. I studied civil engineering in college and worked as a civil engineer for about 10 years. Once my second daughter was born, we decided that it was best I stay home with her. Since quitting engineering, I have really enjoyed putting my all into sewing and pattern drafting. Going to the beach with my family is one of my other favorite things to do!!At the moment I am working on Styla's beach release! It is in testing now but will be live once this podcast airs!!

I work for Styla Patterns & Little Lizard King Patterns. Styla and Little Lizard King are sister companies. Styla is adult patterns and Little Lizard King is children patterns. I also work as a fabric designer for The Styled Magnolia Custom Fabric..

I am Tanya Morera a SAHM with 4 Children ages 23, 11, 9 & 3. I homeschool and manage our 2.5 acre homestead. Currently we have 17 ducks, 5 chickens, 2 dogs and a cat.

I love constantly learning new things.

Outside of sewing, I've recently unlocked a new skill into sourdough baking. My other ways to spend an afternoon include working on my photography skills, creating content for my social media and updating my Etsy shop. Sewing though is my ultimate passion.
