We meet Francis when he is still secular in his heart, partying with his friends and striving for worldly glory. His parents are proud of him, but his Father is focused on worldly success. He flirts with a woman at a party. The emptiness of worldly success is shown to be empty.

Francis and his friends show disgust at lepers when they approach them. He declares his desire to go to war and there is a brief war scene. There are sounds of battle and shouting in battle. Francis is sick and imprisoned, coughing in a jail. Sounds of water dripping in jail cells and sickness.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe always wanted to be a knight. His Lady was the Blessed Virgin Mary. and he served her with total love. His early story teaches lessons of courage, faith, and love of neighbor, as well as enthusiasm in loving God. His death teaches a lesson of total self-sacrifice and love, even in the darkest of all circumstances. 

This series contains moments of intensity and fear. A concentration camp is depicted. A group of Auschwitz prisoners are referred to as “mongrels.” A group of prisoners are slowly starved to death and their deaths are referenced. Before their deaths, they argue with one another with raised voices, but are converted by Fr. Kolbe. A character is sick and close to death. Several deaths of illness are referenced.
